  • Tetrofosmin is a ligand that forms a lipophilic, cationic complex with Tc-99m. Tc-99m tetrofosmin was developed as a myocardial perfusion imaging agent and also used to depict tumors. Mediastinal tumors is also detected by Tc-99m tetrofosmin. We report a case of extracardiac mediastinal activity detected by Tc-99m tetrofosmin scintigraphy, which revealed thymoma.

  • An exceedingly rare case of perforated early gastric cancer is reported. A 68-year-old man developed peritonitis due to perforation of early gastric cancer. An emergency radical operation was performed and was followed by an uneventful recovery. Histologic examination of the surgical specimen showed type III early gastric cancer composed of a signet ring cell carcinoma. Five years after surgery, the patients was alive with no evidence of tumor recurrence. The rarity of this complication in early gastric cancer is discussed, and a review of the literature is presented.

  • 저자들은 결핵성 뇌수막염을 가진 31세 남자환자에서 심한 다뇨와 저나트륨혈증, 저혈압, 요중 염분소실이 동반되어 있어 CSWS로 진단하고 항결핵제 투여와 식염수, 염류코르티코이드의 투여 후 임상적 호전을 보인 증례 1예를 경험하였기에 보고하는 바이다.

  • In this work, a new family of polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxanes (POSS) based esters have been synthesized that consists eight ester functional groups. These are classified into Type-I and Type-II esters based on the starting materials, octakis(3-chloropropyl)silsesquioxane (Cl-POSS) and octakis(3-hydroxypropyldimethylsiloxy) octasilsesquioxane (OHPS) respectively. These new POSS type ester moieties can be used as insulating oils and oil additives in the transformers and also considered to be alternatives to mineral and vegetable oils that are presently used in the insulation system.
