Temperature-dependent development studies of two aphid species, A. egomae and A. gossypii occurring in green perilla greenhouse were conducted at $15{\sim}35^{\circ}C$, and 16:8 (L:D h) of light period in the laboratory. The mortality of two aphid species was high in young stages (1st and 2nd). In A. egomae, the mortalitiy increased with increasing and decreasing temperature: the mortalitie at $15^{\circ}C$ and $35^{\circ}C$ were 22.3% and 15.6%, respectively. While the mortalities of A. gossypii increased with increasing temperature: the mortality at $35^{\circ}C$ was 50.0%. The developmental periods of A. egomae and A. gossypii ranged from 20.8days to 5.4days and from 22.6days to 9.1days at $15^{\circ}C$ to $30^{\circ}C$ of temperature resion, respectively, and were 7.2days and 10.7days at $35^{\circ}C$ for each species. The lower developmental threshold temperatures for total nymphs of A. egoame and A. gossypii were $9.9^{\circ}C$ and $4.9^{\circ}C$, respectively and an effective degree-days (DD) for the developmental completion of total nymph were 108.0 DD for.A. egomae and 221.2DD for A. gossypii. In green perilla greenhouse, the occurrence period of A. gossypii was earlier about 15 days than that of A. egomae. When the occurrence period of two aphid species was estimated by degree-days based on lower threshold temperatures, A. gossypii occurred earlier than A. egomae in the field. A. gossypii occurred from early April and showed dominant position to late May compared with A. egomae Whereas, A egomae started to occur from mid April and then were abundant after late May followed by abrupt population crash around late July.
In order to investigate the effects of elicitors on the growth and ginsenoside biosynthesis of ginseng hairy roots, we treated Panax ginseng hairy root with various concentrations of Haliotidis concha according to different time course. Haliotidis concha supplement increased the biomass and ginsenoside accumulation at 10 mg/L concentration. The growth rate of hairy root under a lighter concentration was greater than hairy root treated with a denser concentration. The highest content and productivity of ginsenosides appeared at 2 weeks after the treatment of 10 mg/L Haliotidis concha. The gene expression of squalene synthase, squalene epoxidase, dammarenediol synthase, cycloartenol synthase, $\beta$-amyrin synthase in hairy roots of ginseng were examined by RT-PCR. The Haliotidis concha treatment resulted in the obvious accumulation of the mRNA of triterpene biosynthesis in Panax ginseng hairy root as compared with the control. In this study, Haliotidis concha acts as a kind of elicitor for the production of ginsenosides.
The main objective of this study was to identify the best quality rice for cultivation on reclaimed land in Jeollabukdo-Province based on yield, head rice ratio, protein content, amylose content, and Toyo taste value evaluations. Seven varieties of rice were grown for two years on the reclaimed land. The Sukwang variety had the earliest heading date. The tiller number for the Younghojinmi variety was 19 on average, and its variation in tiller number was the lowest, which showed that the safety for cultivation of the variety was high on the reclaimed land with respect to that of the other varieties. The culm and panicle lengths of the Sukwang and Hyunpum varieties were the highest at 81.8 and 21.3 cm, respectively. Shindongjin produced the highest thousand grain weight at 27.7 g, whereas Haepum produced the lowest at 22.3 g. The number of grains per panicle for 7 all varieties was statistically equal for both years. The yield order for the varieties was Shindongjin (590) > Hopum (575) > Younghojinmi (552) > Sukwang (551) > Hopum (543) > Mipum (534) > Haepum (498 kg/10a), which showed that there was no significant difference in average yield between the varieties when both years are taken into consideration. However, the annual difference in Haepum yield between 2015 and 2016 was the highest at 108 kg/10a, indicating low cultivation safety. The head rice ratio of Younghojinmi was higher than for the other cultivars in both 2015 and 2016. However, there was no significant difference between the 2 years when the averages for all varieties were analyzed. There was was a considerable difference in protein and amylose content between the varieties in the two years, although this was not apparent in the results when the average over 2 years for each variety was calculated. There was no significant difference between the two years with respect to the average head rice ratio, and the protein and amylose contents of the seven varieties. The Toyo taste values for the Sukwang and Mipum varieties were higher than for the other varieties. Based on the principle characteristics, such as Toyo value, the Sukwang variety is a suitable substitute for Shindongjin, which has been previously used to produce high-quality rice on the reclaimed land.
Tonicity-responsive enhancer binding protein(TonEBP) is a transcriptional factor essential in the function and development of the renal medulla. TonEBP plays a critical role in protecting renal medullary cells from the deleterious effect of hypertonicity. TonEBP is a key regulator of urinary concentration via stimulation of transcription of urea transporter(UT) in a manner independent of vasopressin. UT in the renal inner medulla is important for the conservation of body water due to its role in the urine concentrating mechanism. Mongolian gerbil(Meriones unguiculatus) has been as an model animal for studying the neurological disease such as stroke and epilepsy because of the congenital incomplete in Willis circle, as well as the investigation of water metabolism because of the long time-survival in the condition of water-deprived desert condition, compared with other species animal. In this study, we divide 3 groups of which each group include the 5 animals. In the study of 7 or 14 days water restricted condition, we investigated the TonEBP and UT-A by using a immunohistochemistry in the kidney. In the normal kidney, the distribution of TonEBP is generally localized on nuclei of inner medullary cells. Nuclear distribution of TonEBP is generally increased throughout the medulla in 7 and 14 days dehydrated group compared with control group. Increased nuclear localization was particularly dramatic in thin limbs. In control groups, UT-A was expressed in inner stripe of outer medulla(ISOM) and inner medulla(IM). UT-A was present in the terminal part of the short-loop of descending thin limbs (DTL) in ISOM and also present in the inner medullary collecting duct(IMCD), where the intensity of it gradually increased toward the papillary tip. In the dehydrated kidney, UT-A immunoreactivity was increased in the short-loop of DTL in ISOM and in the long-loop of DTL in the initial part of IM, where was expressed moderate positive reaction in the normal kidney. Also it was up regulated in the IMCD in initial & middle part of IM. However UT-A down regulated in the IMCD, where the intensity of it gradually decreased toward the papillary tip. These findings suggest that increased levels of TonEBP in medulla and UT-A in shot-loop of DTL and IMCD play a important role for maintain fluid balance in the water-deprived mongolian gerbil kidney.

Purpose : The patient's clothes and sheet after radioiodine therapy must be disposed of by related regulation. That must be disposed of as radioactive wastes, but that is reusing after radioactivity decay by keeping for the certain period of time. In general, The minimum storage period calculate by standard of take radioactive substance out of radiation controlled area based on measured surface contamination level. But the measurements of surface contamination level are able to differ by measurement method. In this paper, I wish to calculate the minimum storage period of patient's clothes and sheet after radioiodine therapy by measure nuclide concentration offered by the regulation on self-disposal of radioactive wastes. Materials and Methods : The whole area of patient's clothes and sheet measured 31 patients(male:9 patients, female:22 patients), who had radioiodine therapy(3.7 GBq:13 patients, 5.55 GBq:16 patients, 7.4 GBq:2 patients) from july 2011 to march 2012. The minimum storage period is calculated by the regulation on self-disposal of radioactive waste(100 Bq/g) and standard of take radioactive substance out of radiation controlled area(4 kBq/m2) Results : The minimum storage period of pillow sheet, upper uniform, lower uniform by standard of take radioactive substance out of radiation controlled area were each 4.6 days, 63days, 78 days. The minimum storage period of pillow sheet, upper uniform, lower uniform by the regulation on self-disposal of radioactive waste were each 18.1 days, 43 days, 62 days. Conclusion : We can verify that patient's clothes and sheet after radioiodine therapy exists a great deal of radioactive contamination. The minimum storage period calculation of patient's clothes and sheet is better suited to applying nuclide concentration offered by the regulation on self-disposal of radioactive waste. I recommend, To keep for at least 2 months of the patient's clothes and sheet contaminated radioactivity, for prevent contamination and unnecessary radiation exposure.

Purpose: Recently, South Korea has seen a rapidly increased incidence of both breast and thyroid cancers. As a result, the I-131 scan and lymphoscintigraphy have been performed more frequently. Although this type of diagnostic imaging is prominent in that visualizes pathological conditions, which is similar to previous nuclear diagnostic imaging techniques, there is not much anatomical information obtained. Accordingly, it has been used in different ways to help find anatomical locations by transmission scan, however the results were unsatisfactory. Therefore, this study aims to realize an imaging technique which shows more anatomical information through the fusion of gamma and realistic imaging. Materials and Methods: We analyzed the data from patients who were examined by the lymphoscintigraphy and I-131 additional scan by Symbia Gamma camera (SIEMENS) in the nuclear medicine department of the National Cancer Center from April to July of 2009. First, we scanned the same location in patients by using a miniature camera (R-2000) in hyVISION. Afterwards, we scanned by gamma camera. The data we obtained was evaluated based on the scanning that measures an agreement of gamma and realistic imaging by the Gamma Ray Tool fusion program. Results: The amount of radiation technicians and patients were exposed was generated during the production process of flood source and applied transmission scan. During this time, the radiation exposure dose of technicians was an average of 14.1743 ${\mu}Sv$, while the radiation exposure dose of patients averaged 0.9037 ${\mu}Sv$. We also confirmed this to matching gamma and realistic markers in fusion imaging. Conclusion: Therefore, we found that we could provide imaging with more anatomical information to clinical doctors by fusion of system of gamma and realistic imaging. This has allowed us to perform an easier method in which to reduce the work process. In addition, we found that the radiation exposure can be reduced from the flood source. Eventually, we hope that this will be applicable in other nuclear medicine studies. Therefore, in order to respect the privacy of patients, this procedure will be performed only after the patient has agreed to the procedure after being given a detailed explanation about the process itself and its advantages.
This study was designed to investige the effects of Houttuynia cordata Thunb mixture extract on the lipid metabolism in the lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced liver damage of rats. LPS-treatment increased the levels of total-lipid, LDH (lactate, dehydrogenas), triglyceride (TG) and malondialdehyde (MDA). But Houttuynia cordata Thunb mixture extract (HM) pretreatment decreased the levels of total lipid, LDL-cholesterol, TG and MDA. Also LPS-treatment decreased total cholesterol and HDL-cholesterol, but HM-pretreatment increased both of them. These results demonstrated that HM-pretreatment had the preventive effects against the dyfunction of lipid metabolism in the LPS-induced liver damage of rats.

The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for practical and concrete program development, which can give students satisfaction in sex education. To achieve this purpose, an actual status of sex education for high school student and their sexual experience were investigated. And then tried to find out if there is difference of satisfaction in sex education and contents that they want to learn based on having sexual experience or not. For this study, a questionnaire of sexual awareness was conducted on 562 students among first graders and second graders of high school located in Kongju city, from on October 4th, 2004 to on October 15th. But only 550 answer sheets among 562 were analyzed, for 12 answer sheets were not proper enough to apply to this study. The collected data was computerized using SPSS WIN in frequency and percentage for actual condition of sex education and sexual experience and for satisfaction at the result of sex education based on having sexual experience or not. And then the $x^2$-test was verify the difference. The requirement for sex education, based on having sexual experience or not, was analyzed using t-test by computerizing the average and standard deviation. The conclusion of this study are as followings; 1. 93.8% students have ever been taught for sex education by teachers, but nursing teacher among them was the higher percentage than any other teachers. They took courses for sex education in discretion class, and the teaching method was a kind of lecture. 2. After taking sex education, 37.6% students said that it was boring, for they had already known the contents of the courses, and 43.8% students said that they acquired sex knowledge through the Internet and mass media. 3. It was highest percentage that 36.9% students had no agony about sex. The most serious worry was a sexual impulse and the sexual psychology of the opposite sex. To solve these worries, 61.6% students said that they consulted with their friends. 4. It showed that 89.9% male students and 71.6% female students had experiences various lascivious materials, 81.4% male students, 7.2 female students experienced masturbation, 52.7% female student and 44.8% male students experienced kissing or hugging, and 13.7% male students and 9.9% female students experienced sexual intercourse. 5. The satisfaction for sex education based on having sexual experience or not was different. In short, it showed that the students who experienced sexual experiences such as accessing to lascivious materials, kissing, hugging, and sexual intercourse except masturbation thought that sex education was important than the students who didn't experience sexual experiences. On the other hand, the students who didn't experience sexual experiences were more satisfied with the contents and level of sex education than the students who experienced sexual experiences. 6. The requirement for sex education based on having sexual experience or not was also different. The students who experienced sexual experiences wanted to learn an acquaintance with the other sex than the others. On the other hand, the students who didn't experience sexual experience wanted to learn friendship and love. The students who experienced sexual experience except masturbation was more desirable for taking sex education than the other students. In conclusion, it is fully required that sex education should be regular subject in school and teachers who are charge of sex education should be experts in this field, for only expert can teach systematic and adequate sex knowledge to students. In addition, it is also essential to understand contents of sex education which can be satisfactory for students' requirement. So we should develop concrete and practical programs for sex education.
This study was carried out to obtain basic data for selecting the applicable crops in reclaimed land and to provide guidelines for the rotation between paddy and upland cropping. Field experiment was conducted with six summer crops(garland chrysanthemum, young radish, small radish, kale, lettuce, red lettuce) at Dae-Ho reclaimed experiment plots in Dangjin province. Dry weights and plant heights of harvested crops were measured and soil chemical properties were analyzed. Plant height and dry weight decreased significantly with increasing soil saturation paste extract electrical conductivity(ECe) and sodium adsorption ratio(SAR). The threshold ECe of salt inhibition for six crops was less than $1dS\;m^{-1}$ for young radish and kale, greater than $4dS\;m^{-1}$ for garland chrysanthemum, and greater than $6dS\;m^{-1}$ for small radish, lettuce, and red lettuce. At higher ECe that inhibits crop growth, with every increase in $1dS\;m^{-1}$, dry weight index decreased by 3.35 for kale, 3.92 for small radish, 3.98 for young radish, 4.66 for lettuce, 7.57 for garland chrysanthemum, and 8.45% for red lettuce, respectively. The ECe causing 50% reduction of dry weight index was $18.9dS\;m^{-1}$ for small radish, $17.3dS\;m^{-1}$ for lettuce, $15.4dS\;m^{-1}$ for kale, $12.0dS\;m^{-1}$ for red lettuce, $11.3dS\;m^{-1}$ for young radish, and $11.0dS\;m^{-1}$ for garland chrysanthemum. Among the tested 6 summer crops through field experiment and in-situ survey, kale was proved to be a favorable vegetable crop at reclaimed tidal land.
