환자가 인식한 치과위생사의 의사소통유형에 따른 치료지시이행과 치과서비스 만족도의 관계 (The relations between dental care compliance and service satisfaction of patients depending on dental hygienists' communication patterns perceived by patients)

  • Objectives: This study aims to suggest the future direction to improve dental hygienists' competencies to communicate with patients to increase the compliance and dental service satisfaction, based on the analysis of survey data given to patients on dental hygienists' communication patterns with patients. The findings of this research is aimed to serve as the basic data for future researches on related area. Methods: A survey was conducted to ordinary people with experiences of receiving dental treatment in Gwangju and Jeonnam from July 29th 2017 to September 10th 2017. 224 copies of the questionnaire were used for final analysis. Results: The scores of each communication pattern (informative, friendly, and authoritative patterns) of dental hygienists perceived by research subjects were as follows: $3.76{\pm}0.76$, $3.47{\pm}0.62$, and $2.64{\pm}0.70$ respectively. In the effects of communication patterns on the compliance of patients, it was found that the informative communication pattern (${\beta}=0.227$, p=0.008) and friendly communication pattern (${\beta}=0.216$, p=0.012) had positive (+) effects. Conclusions: Thus, the results of this study verified that dental hygienists' communication patterns are important elements affecting patients' compliance and their satisfaction. For the smooth patient-centered bilateral communications, it will be necessary to continuously develop educational programs related to dental hygienists' communication, and also to have continuous researches targeting patient groups for the comparison to meet dental service satisfaction.

일부 기혼 치과위생사의 직장-가정갈등에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors affecting the conflict between work and family in some married dental hygienists)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting job satisfaction, job stress, turnover intention, work-family and family-work relationship of married dental hygienists with young children. Methods: 242 copies of self-reported questionnaires were analyzed. Statistical analysis of collected data was conducted using the statistical program of Stata 13.0 (StataCorp., College Station, TX, USA). Results: Turnover intention was higher when the child age was lower and the child support and parenting stress were higher. But when working hours were adjustable, the turnover intention was low. Job stress was higher as the position, monthly income and night working hours were higher. Job satisfaction was higher as night work was fewer, work time was adjustable and family life satisfaction was higher. When parenting stress was high, job satisfaction was low and job stress and turnover intention were high. Work-family relationships were more affected by lower monthly income and parents-first child caregivers. Workplace factors affecting the family life were monthly income, caregiver and number of night work. The higher the parenting stress, the greater the mutual influence between family and work life. Age, family life, parenting stress and turnover intention were identified to affect family-work relationship. Parenting stress and job stress were identified to be influential on work-family relationship. Conclusions: Married dental hygienists are leaving the clinical setting due to their marriage and childbirth, or showing the effects on family-work and work-family relationships due to parenting. Efforts should be made to efficiently utilize professional manpower and to improve the psychological and physical working environment surrounding the married dental hygienists.

일부 치위생과 학생들의 취업스트레스 및 대처유형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Employment Stress and the Coping Type in Some Dental Hygiene Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to offer basic data in order to make it possible for becoming the mentally more matured dental hygienist by being aware of stress factors on employment in preliminary dental hygienists and examining a coping plan according to it. The self-administered questionnaire research was carried out targeting Dental Hygiene Students at 4 colleges in metropolitan area for 1 month from October to November in 2007. Totally 209 questionnaires were collected. Among them, 206 copies were analyzed with methods in frequency analysis, correlation analysis, and ANOVA analysis by using SPSS WIN10.0 statistical program. As a result, the following conclusions were obtained. 1. 84.5% out of subjects were the active students. 95.2% and over 95.6%, respectively, were surveyed to be more than 'moderate' as for the academic achievement level and the satisfaction with college life. 2. the majority in the survey subjects were researched to receive high stress as for 'a guiding professor doesn't lead and have interest in my employment, thereby being disappointing' and 'failing to be employed is likely to lead to hurting pride so much'. 3. a coping type with stress in the survey subjects was researched to select a coping plan much as for 'sincerely hoping for the work to be well done', 'going out for a change', 'establishing a few countermeasures for solving a problem', 'overeating', and 'waiting while thinking it to be solved some time.' 4. most of stress factors had high correlation with a coping type with saying of 'trying to be alone as a whole', and had high correlation with 'failing to be employed is likely to lead to hurting pride so much' and 'overeating'. Even additionally, it was surveyed to have high correlation with 'smoking' and 'depending on the past experience'.

치과위생사의 긍정심리자본과 성장마인드셋, 셀프리더십이 재직의도에 미치는 영향 (Impact of dental hygienists' positive psychological capital, growth mindset, and self-leadership on retention intention)

  • Objectives: This study was conducted to analyze the factors influencing the positive psychological capital, growth mindset, and self-leadership of dental hygienists in the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions with regard to their retention intention. The findings would serve as basic data for improving the retention intention. Methods: The methods espoused for analysis comprised independent sample t-test and ANOVA for group comparisons, Pearson's correlation analysis for examining the correlation between variables, and multiple regression analysis for identifying factors affecting retention intention. Results: Positive psychological capital was higher among those under the age of 27 and employed in dental clinics. Growth mindset was higher among those with less than three years of work experience and those working in clinics. Self-leadership was higher among those aged 28-31, and retention intention was higher among those under the age of 27 and with less than three years of work experience (p<0.05). A correlation was observed between positive psychological capital and self-leadership (r=0.760), self-leadership and retention intention (r=0.514), positive psychological capital and retention intention (r=0.505), positive psychological capital and growth mindset (r=0.337), and growth mindset and self-leadership (r=0.245) (p<0.001). Factors influencing the intention to stay at work were self-leadership (β=0.309) and positive psychological capital (β=0.242) (p<0.05). Conclusions: In order to improve dental hygienists' retention intention, it is necessary to devise strategies for improving positive psychological capital and self-leadership.

사회치위생학의 학습목표 제안: 구강보건행정 영역 (Suggestion of Learning Objectives in Social Dental Hygiene: Oral Health Administration Area)

  • 본 연구는 공중구강보건학 구강보건행정 영역의 국가시험 A항목 학습목표 48개의 '치위생 직무관련성', '치위생역량관련성', '교육목표 설정의 가치판별성', '시의성'을 검토하여, 최종으로 제안한 사회치위생학 구강보건행정 영역의 국가시험 A항목 학습목표는 총 75개였다. 전체 학습목표 중 18개를 삭제하였고, 15개를 수정보완하였으며, 기존 학습목표 15개를 유지하였고, 새로운 학습목표 45개를 추가하였다. 학습목표 주제는 I. 사회보장과 의료보장, II. 구강보건진료제도, III. 구강보건행정, IV. 구강보건정책으로 구분하여 고찰하였다. 최근 건강보험 및 노인장기요양보험의 확대 등 의료보장제도는 국가정책의 변화 등을 반영한 의료보장과 사회보장제도에 대한 내용을 제공할 수 있도록 수정보완이 필요하며 더 나아가 제도의 문제점과 해결방안을 제시할 수 있는 '옹호자'로서의 사회적 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 사회보장과 의료보장 분야의 학습목표를 개선할 것을 제안하였다. 구강보건진료제도와 구강보건행정 분야의 기존 학습목표는 치과위생사로서 현장의 직무와 관련성이 높은 개념과 내용으로 수정보완이 필요함을 제시하였고, 구강보건정책 분야는 치과위생사로서 정책에 참여하고 치위생 정책의제를 발굴할 수 있는 역량을 강화하여 변화주도자, 옹호자의 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 국내 보건의료정책, 치위생 관련 정책 이슈의 변화, 정책과정, 정책참여, 정책평가 등의 내용을 중점으로 학습목표를 신설할 것을 제안하였다. 본 연구결과, 변화하는 시대적 상황에 부응하여 사회치위생학 분야의 학습목표를 개정할 필요성이 제기되었다. 또한, 교육내용을 개편함에 있어 우선순위를 두어 개선하여야 한다는 것에 의견이 모아졌다. 첫째, 사회치위생학 학습목표를 개정하고, 실제 직무와 관련성이 높은 역량을 개발해야 할것이다. 둘째, 사회치위생학 학습내용은 지식, 태도, 행동을 향상시킬 수 있는 학습목표를 적극 개발해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 개정된 학습목표와 역량을 기준으로 사회치위생학 교재와 교육자료의 개발이 필요할 것이다. 넷째, 개정된 사회치위생학 학습목표를 바탕으로 치과위생사 국가시험을 개선해야 할 것이다. 이러한 교육의 변화를 통하여 치위생(학)계는 학습내용이 지식중심에서 그치는 것이 아니라 지식을 통해 다양한 활동으로 전환될 수 있도록 치과위생사의 역량을 강화하고, 치위생학 학문의 질적 수준을 향상시켜야 할 것이다. 따라서 사회에 진출 한 후 임상과 지역사회 현장에서 치과위생사로서 사회적 역할과 책임을 다할 수 있는 내실 있는 교육을 운영해야 할 것이다.

치과위생사의 이직결정에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (The study on determinants for changing employment positions among dental hygienists)

  • Purpose: This study sought to identify factors associated with dental hygienists' decisions to leave one dental office and commence practice in another. In addition to, the reasons dental hygienists stay in the profession were investigated. Demographic descriptors, including education level, marital status and age, and employment setting were also examined. Methods: Currently practicing dental hygienists in Korea were surveyed from March to May 2003. Data were collected through a questionnaire. The survey collected information concerning the 461 respondents' personal characteristics and reasons associated with changing positions and staying. Data were analyzed using frequency distributions, independent t-tests and chi-square analyses. All statistical analyses were conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Scientists(SPSS v.10, Chicago, Illinois). Results: The primary reasons for taking up another employment were found to be better offer, inadequate salary and personal conflict with dentist. Secondary reasons stated for changing their job revealed additional factors including inadequate salary, better offer, and lack of benefits. The primary influence in deciding to remaining in the practice of dental hygiene was self-development. Family responsibility, safe environment and professional collaboration were also important factors in deciding to remain in workforce. Conclusion: The position changes of dental hygienists are primarily influenced by better offer. Inadequate salary and conflict with dentist were also important factors in deciding to change employment positions. The findings suggest that dental hygienists who remain in the workforce are positively influenced mainly by self-development. Employers of dental hygienists should be aware of these factors in employing process. If more hygienists could remain longer in their positions, the manpower situation would be affected positively.

일부지역 치과위생사의 심폐소생술에 관한 영향요인 분석 (Analysis of factors affecting the implementation of CPR by dental hygienists in certain regions)

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the knowledge of dental hygienists on CPR, their CPR attitude and performance ability in an effort to offer data that can contribute to the development of a more effective CPR education program. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 234 dental hygienists in Jeollanam and Jeollabukdo from February 24 to May 20, 2017. The questionnaire asked dental hygienists of the knowledge, attitude, performance ability in regards to CPR. The data were analyzed using SPSS Window ver. 19.0 program through independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, chi-square test and multiple regression analysis. The Cronbach alpha of their CPR knowledge was 0.78, and that of attitude to CPR was 0.79. The Cronbach alpha of CPR performance ability was 0.96. Results: The dental hygienists surveyed in this study who were aware of CPR accounted for 88.9% of total subjects. Dental hygienists who were certified in CPR accounted for 20.5% of total subjects. They received a score of 7.66 on CPR knowledge, 3.33 on attitude and 2.61 on performance ability. There was a positive correlation between the knowledge and attitude, between the knowledge and performance ability and between the attitude and performance ability (r=0.332, r=0.461, r=0.426). A regression analysis showed that the dental hygienists who were younger, who graduated from a four-year university or a higher educational institution, who were CPR certificate holders, who received more CPR education, who were cognizant of automated external defibrillator, who were more knowledgeable on CPR and who took a more positive attitude were more likely to be affected in terms of CPR performance. Conclusions: The dental hygienists surveyed were aware of CPR on the whole, but their CPR knowledge, attitude and performance were not sufficient to perform CPR in emergency situations. More intensive education should be provided for dental hygienists to have an accurate knowledge of CPR to carry it out with a positive attitude.

치과위생사의 분노표현유형과 사회적지지, 자아존중감에 대한 융합적 연구 (Convergence Study of Social support, Self-esteem, and Type of Anger Expression in Dental Hygienists)

  • 본 연구는 치과위생사의 사회적지지와 자아존중감, 직무스트레스가 분노표현유형에 영향을 미치는 융합적 요인을 확인하고자 하였다. 치과의료기관 근무 치과위생사 402명을 대상으로 하였으며, 군집분석으로 분노표현유형을 분류하였고, 분노표현유형 관련 요인을 확인하기 위해 로지스틱회귀분석을 시행하였다. 치과위생사의 분노표현유형은 분노조절군과 분노표출·억제군으로 분류되었으며, 분노조절군이 233명(58.0%)이었다. 자아존중감(OR=5.952)과 동료의 사회적지지(OR=1.172)가 높을수록 분노조절군일 가능성이 유의하게 높았다. 치과위생사의 자아존중감과 동료의 사회적 지지의 수준을 높임으로써 치과위생사의 분노조절능력을 향상시킬 수 있는 것을 확인하였다.

치과위생사의 감정노동과 소진에 관한 연구 (A Study on Emotional Labor and Burnout in Dental Hygienist)

  • 서비스 교육과 감정노동이 치과위생사의 직무소진에 영향을 미치는지 알아보기 위해 서울, 경기지역에 치과위생사 155명을 대상으로 설문조사하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 서비스 교육경험이 있는 경우가 66.5%였으며 교육내용으로는 서비스 마인드가 23.5%로 가장 많았으며 인사말 교육 및 실습이 20.7%, 전화응대기술이 17.4%, 표정관리가 16.2% 등의 순으로 나타났다. 58.3%의 응답자가 서비스 교육에 만족하고 있었다. 2. 서비스 교육에 따른 감정노동의 차이는 서비스 교육경험이 있고, 서비스 교육에 만족하는 경우 감정조절을 더 하는 것으로 나타났다.3. 직무소진의 하위요인인 신체적 증상과 심리적 증상을 종속변수로 하여 다중회귀분석을 시행한 결과 심리적 증상에서 감정 부조화가 영향을 미치는 변수로서 감정 부조화를 경험할수록 심리적 소진이 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과로 감정노동은 직무소진에 영향을 미치는 요인이라고 할 수 있으며 개인의 감정노동을 관리하기 위한 조직적 차원의 관리가 필요하다고 생각한다.

일부 치위생과 학생들의 AIDS에 대한 지식 및 태도 (Knowledge and Attitudes about AIDS among Dental Hygiene Students)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to obtain the basic data for the establishment of the curriculum from the analysis of knowledge and attitudes about AIDS among dental hygiene students. Methods: Data was collected from the students of two colleges majoring in dental hygiene in Daegu, using questionnaire. They were the students of total 390. The analysis was made using t-test, (one-way ANOVA), and multiple linear regression analysis. These were conducted using SPSS 14.0 version. Results: The horizontal and vertical transmission in percent correct knowledge of HIV infection, most of the questions asked of respondents knew the correct answer, AIDS attitudes in the community education hours to receive AIDS education is important then the response was highest at 88.2 percent. AIDS knowledge is based on clinical practice, and AIDS attitudes in accordance with the educational experience of the average difference between groups investigated showed statistically significantly. HIV knowledge and attitudes, no oil, depending on the educational experience of the average difference between groups investigated showed statistically significantly. The grade, the higher knowledge of HIV was found to be lower in a statistically significant negative relationship showed (p<0.001), clinical experience, the more experience, knowledge of HIV was higher statistically significant positive showed a relationship (p<0.001), a higher attitude about HIV AIDS knowledge was higher showed a statistically significant positive relationship (p<0.001). Conclusion: Dental hygiene to prevent infection associated with AIDS in the curriculum and hands-on curriculum to enhance patient care through the AIDS patients in clinical management after graduating as a dental hygienist at the ethical responsibility is considered to be very strong.
