Objectives : The purpose of this study was to analyzes the job implementation of dental hygienist at dental hospital(university), dental clinic and general hospital in the city of Gwangju. Methods : The subjects in this study were dental hygienists who worked at dental hospital(university), dental clinic and general hospital in the city of Gwangju. A survey was conducted by post from June 10 to August 10. Out of the collected data, 204 answer sheets were analyzed. Results : 1. 'Medical & Dental history taking', 'Extra & Intra oral examination' and 'Dental hygiene care plane' in dental clinic were significantly higher than dental hospital(university) and general hospital(p<0.001). 'Remove of extrinsic stain' and 'Treatment of hypersensitivity tooth' in dental clinic and general hospital were significantly higher than dental hospital(university)(p<0.001). 'Preventive dental caries treatment' and 'Diet control' were shown the low frequency of job implementation. 2. Almost task elements of dental assistance duty shown that dental hygienists under the 24 years old were significantly higher dental hygienists over the 30 years old(p<0.05) and dental clinic and general hospital were significantly higher than dental hospital(university)(p<0.05) in frequency of job implementation. 3. 'Dental staff supervision', 'Patient management' and 'Dental chart arrangement' shown that dental hygienists over the 30 years old were significantly higher than dental hygienists under the 24 years old in frequency of job implementation(p<0.05). 'Infection control' of dental hygienists over 30 years old was significantly lower than dental hygienists under the 24 years old(p<0.001). Conclusions : The results of this study indicate that a scope of dental hygienists' job need to extend also in order to accomplish a job efficiently, is suggested that the effort is necessary to improve a quality of dental hygienist and to change of recognition of the dentist about dental hygienists' job.
This study analyzed and compared the oral health care knowledge, oral health behaviors and oral health status of elementary school students in schools with a dental clinic and those without. This study was carried out in November of 2012. The subjects were 188 elementary school students. Structured questionnaires were completed and the SPSS(Ver.17.0) Program was used for the collected data to perform frequency analysis, a t-test, and ANOVA. For oral health knowledge, the operating school dental clinic (OSD) group had a high score of 6.72 points, while the non-operating school dental clinic (NSD) group had 5.95 points. The results were statistically significant(p<0.01). For oral health behavior, the OSD group had a high score of 5.55 points, while the NSD group had 4.59 points, which was statistically significant(p<0.01). Students in schools with school dental clinics have much better knowledge and behavior about oral health than students without school dental clinics.
Objectives: This study was conducted to know dental service and fear after research on reliability on dentists and satisfaction on dental hygienists. Methods: This study was conducted by the 325 persons who had the experience of visiting dental medical institution. Statistical analysis was conducted using the SPSS 12.0 with T-test, ANOVA and correlation. The obtained results were as follows: Results: 1. Internal consistency of Dental Beliefs Survey(DBS) and dental hygienists satisfaction questionnaire factors were 0.758~0.908(Cronbach' alpha). And the Cronbach' alpha's coefficients of the all subscales were more than 0.6. So high reliability and validity were identified. 2. As result of analysing fear from general feature, the men feel more fear than women and more fear was felt in the case of having worse teeth status. Fear was higher in case of visiting to dental clinic than in case of visiting dental clinic for precaution. And that was statistically related. 3. Dental fear was higher in the case of having the past pain experience, insufficient anesthesia experience, experience of seeing other persons pain and this was statistically related(P<0.01)(P<0.05). 4. Average of reliability on dentists was 37.9, person who has high reliability was 81.8%, person who has low reliability was 18.2%, average of satisfaction on dental hygienists was 31.5%(Satisfaction on dental hygienists was 51.1% and dissatisfaction on dental hygienists was 48.9%). 5. Higher dentists reliability and satisfaction on dental hygienists has lower fear considering general feature and dental clinic use behavior but person who has the dental clinic to go regularly has higher dentists reliability and satisfaction on dental hygienists where, however, fear was not low. 6. As result of analyzing correlation between dental service and dental clinic use behavior, satisfaction on dental hygienists was negatively related to reliability on dentists and fear. And, reliability on dentists was positively related to fear, pain experience in dental clinic, incomplete anesthesia experience, near person pain experience(experience on seeing person in pain), which were statistically related(p<0.01). Conclusions: In relation to general features and reliability on dentists and satisfaction on dental hygienists caused by dental clinic use behavior, dental fear was decreased when reliability and satisfaction are higher. Group with low dental fear had higher reliability on dentists and satisfaction on dental hygienists than group with high dental fear but only reliability on dentists was statistically related(p<0.05).

This study is about the basis of satisfactions by patients : One is 'what factors of the marketing by dental medical service have an effect on consumers dental clinic' The other is 'what is the most important part when consumers choose the dental medical ser Seoul and Gyeonggi area unintentionally. Finally 446 people were analyzed. 6 general questions, 5 selective form questions when consumers choose the dental service, 11 satisfactions questions after treating and thought of reuse the dental service 6 (Likert scale) questions. Whether the choice of hospital dental marketing by dental analysis, both male and female hospital medical marketing and use of selected highly suggests that it does not respond. The resulting satisfaction analysis using the Hospital Dental Marketing consumer access to medical care, and then, a full explanation, comfort, quality and level, health care costs, treatment management, and symptom improvement were higher satisfaction with the item, select the dental healthcare after the analysis of the marketing of recycled doctors are otherwise subject the person selected from all entries equal to or higher than the average consumer satisfaction showed a higher medical doctor also higher reuse. Consequently, Through the use of marketing to choose the best dental healthcare need to providing quality care.
The purpose of this study was to use the Korea Health Panel to determine how the mother's characteristic and household characteristic variables were associated with dental clinic use of children in childhood and adolescence. The logistic regression analysis found that mother's education level was statistically significantly positively correlated with underage child's dental clinic use and children in single-parent family were less likely to use a dental clinic than those in two-parent family. As for dental clinic use by diseases, the higher level of mother's education, the more likely to use a dental clinic due to dental caries and children in single-parent family were less likely to use a dental clinic due to dental caries than those in two-parent family. No difference in dental clinic use due to tooth extraction was found by any of mother's characteristics or household characteristics, probably because age has an absolute impact during the period between milk teeth and permanent teeth. Lastly, mother's education level and household income were significantly positively correlated with dental clinic use due to orthodontics. On the basis of these results, it is necessary to develop a customized strategy reflecting children's growth stages and household characteristics in making a plan for promoting oral health of children and adolescents.
The anxiety and depression level of new outpatients wert studied clinically by means of The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale(HAD). 64 males and 97 females were subjected at local dental clinic and also 6l male and 91 females were studied at the Dept. of Oral Medicine, PNUH, during period from 1996 to 1997 The obtained results were as follows : 1. Anxiety disorder was 17.76% in the new dental outpatients of university hospital and 13.66% in the local dental Clinic find depression disorder was 7.23% In the University hospital and 3.72% in the local dental clinic. 2. Mean values of depression and anxiety level were within normal range. 3. Anxiety level in female was significantly higher than that in male at the local dental clinic (p<0.05). 4. Anxiety and depression level in university hospital outpatients decreased in order of clerk, housewife and student(p<0.01). 5. The outpatients of university hospital with lower education level showed more anxious and depressed. 6. Anxiety and depression of unmarried group of new outpatients in university hospital was higher than that of married group. Through the above results, proper treatment plans will be demanded In the dental procedure, because psychologic 야sorders as anxiety and depression were included in the 25% of new outpatients of university hospital and 17% at local dental clinic.
This study purported to evaluate the performance of the appointment system for outpatients in primary care dental clinic. The data of patients' time flow for 1,245 patients in Y Dental Clinic were collected for one month in 2002 and then analyzed. Specifically, the time periods of treatment and patients' waiting as well as rates of appointment and it's failure are estimated. The accuracy of expected treatment time period was also evaluated. The results showed that 72% of patients visited the clinic with appointments, and only 56% kept their appointments. The patient's waiting time period turned out to be 11 minutes in Y clinic. The expected treatment time period is turned out to be very important because they influence significantly on patient's waiting time period. Practically, the expected treatment time period should be overestimated about 9 minutes in general, and the characteristics of dentist, each patient's diagnosis and age need to be especially considered. Hospitals and clinics also need to make the systematic and detailed critical pathways for a variety of patient cases by analyzing the patients' treatment pattern. With the improved appointment systems, healthcare institutions will approach the goal of effective and efficient management of the institution and also satisfy their customers.
Objectives : The aim of the study is to propose the fundamental data for further developments of the school dental clinic program through evaluating comprehensive improvements of the indices and the oral health status. Methods : This studied was carried out from December 2010 to September 2012. Subjects were 239 elementary school 4th, 5th, 6th grade students having no school dental clinic and 195 elementary school 4th, 5th, 6th grade students having school dental clinic in Busan. They completed self-reported questionnaires after accepting informed consent. The questionnaire included knowledges, attitudes and practices for oral health recognition and supports of the school dental clinic program. Results : Permanent tooth caries prevention rate revealed 59.0%, 53.3%, and 62.0%. in 4th, 5th, and 6th respectively. Rate of Care Group with fissure sealant permanent teeth showed 80.3%, 88.0%, and 88.9% respectively. Index of Care Group with fissure sealant permanent teeth revealed 2.68, 2.90, and 3.97, respectively. DMFT index of Care Group was 1.11, 1.35, and 1.51, respectively. Active D rate of Care Group resulted in 16.7%, 24.1%, and 16.7%, respectively. Dental health education group showed high awareness level of fluoride and sealant effect for caries prevention. Tooth brushing of three times per day was more effective when using rolling tooth brushing. On the other hand, oral health recognition and oral status in the control group was low. Conclusions : Oral health recognition was closely related to good oral care. Expansion of oral health care business is important to prevent dental caries. Systematic approach for oral health education programs and human resources development is very important to improve oral health care.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine factors influencing job embeddedness in dental clinic hygienists. Through this study, we suggest the necessity to increase job embeddedness and use that as basic data for effective dental personnel management. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was filled out by 219 dental clinic hygienists from September 8 to October 8, 2018. Data were analyzed using SPSS 20.0. Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe's post-hoc test, and Pearson correlation coefficient were reviewed, and a multiple regression analysis was conducted. Results: Dental hygienists scored 3.14 points in job embeddedness. The variables that influenced clinical job embeddedness were self-efficacy, organizational commitment, and job satisfaction. These factors had 56.7% of variance in dental clinic hygienists. Conclusions: Job satisfaction was the most affected factor for dental clinic hygienists. In order to maintain effective personnel management of dental hygienists, strategic program development and application are needed to improve job embeddedness.
