글로벌 패션산업에 나타난 패션 민주화의 특성과 패션 민주주의 (The characteristics of democratization of fashion and fashionocracy in the global fashion industry)

  • This article examined the historical evolution of changes in the democratization of fashion, identified its characteristics, and defined 'fashionocracy - fashion democracy'- by analyzing various phenomena in the global fashion industry. This research will expand the field of fashion research and spark academic debates about fashion democracy. The democratization of fashion can be summarized in five periods; birth, introduction, early growth, growth, and maturity. The characteristics of the democratization of fashion include individual autonomy, accessibility that many people can access and enjoy, and diversity. According to the principles of democracy- "of the people, for the people, by the people" - which are based on freedom and equality, we have achieved fashion of the people and for the people so far. Furthermore, social media has shifted the balance of power to influencers and bloggers; as such, the masses who have consumed and enjoyed fashion democratization are becoming producers and promoters by actively participating in the process of making fashion, creating a new era of fashion democracy (fashionocracy): - by the people. Ultimately, fashionocracy consists of the '6P's' ; people (active and productive consumers), planet (society and environmental sustainability), products (genderless, ageless, inclusive), price (reasonable), place (multi-channel distribution, virtual spaces), and promotion (horizontal).

  • 본 연구에서는 민주화운동 관련 사진들을 기반으로 한 사진 디지털아카이브 구축 프로세스를 분석하였다. 사진 디지털아카이브를 디지털 객체를 대상으로 수집, 분류, 기술, 저장, 활용시키는 통합적 시스템으로 규정한 후, 사진의 고유성을 반영한 메타데이터의 도출 및 분류체계 수립 사례를 제시하였다. 특히 사진 디지털아카이브의 분류체계 수립 시, 기존의 기본분류체계 외에 다양한 검색어를 활용한 다원분류체계를 설계함으로써, 문자화된 의미전달이 부재한 사진들 간의 통합성 및 상호연계성을 창출시켜 활용성을 극대화시킬 수 있는 방안을 제시하고자 하였다.

  • 본 논문은 문화예술이 갖는 '기억의 재생과 잠재된 변화 욕구에 대한 민중들의 의지를 불러내는 매개자'로서의 기능과 역할에 주목하였다. 진보적 문화예술 활동이 광주민주화운동을 기점으로 사회변화의 기폭제가 되었다는 판단에서 이들 사이의 상관성을 살펴보고자 하였다. 다시 말해 광주민주화운동을 기점으로 조직화된 민중문화 혹은 민중예술이 한국사회의 변화에 어떠한 영향을 주었는지 확인하고자 한 것이다. 문화에 대한 정의는 너무 광범위하여 특정할 수는 없지만 여기서 문화는 5.18민주화운동이라는 특정한 사건에서 시작하여 한국 민주주의 발전이라는 사회변화의 지속 과정에 치열하게 참여했던 일련의 행위에 초점을 맞추고자 했다. 그런 점에서 민중문화운동과 민중예술인들이 한국사회의 문화를 바꾸는데 기여한 바는 충분히 평가되어야 한다고 판단한다.

ICT 분야 경제민주화 실현정도 분석: 재벌 계열사와 코스닥 상장사를 중심으로 (A Analysis on the Extent of Realization of Economic Democratization in the ICT Industry: with Focus on Subsidiary Companies of Conglomerates and KOSDAQ Listed Companies)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 재벌 계열사 ICT 기업군과 코스닥 상장 ICT 기업군 간의 성장성과 수익성을 중심으로 경제민주화 실현정도를 확인해 보는 것이다. 분석 결과 첫째, 재벌 계열사 ICT 기업군과 코스닥 상장 중소 ICT기업군의 두 집단은 평균 매출액, 자산, 영업이익 및 당기순이익 등 모두에서 차이가 있는 것으로 검증되었다. 둘째, 재벌 계열사 ICT 기업군과 코스닥 상장 중소 ICT기업군 간 경제민주화 유형은 매출액, 자산 및 영업이익에서는 상대적인 경제민주화 미실현 구조를 보여주었고, 당기순이익은 완전한 경제민주화 미실현구조를 보여주었다. 셋째, 외형상 재벌 계열사 ICT 기업군보다 코스닥 상장 중소 ICT 기업군이 더 호황을 누리는 것처럼 보이고 있으나 재벌 계열사 ICT 기업군보다 코스닥 상장 중소 ICT 기업군이 상대적으로 매우 어려운 상황임을 보여주었다.

농촌지도직 공무원 지방직 전환의 문제 (Problems in Localization of Extension Educators in Korea)

  • Since 1997, Korean government changed the status of extension educators from central government staff to county/city government staff for the sake of democratization and localization, regardless of opposition of academic society of extension professionals. Localization of extension educators followed by government restructuring in Korea, resulted various problems, such as 1) Decreased morale and number of extension educators, thus weakening the extension educational function, 2) Weakened linkages between national and local extension offices, 3) Less opportunity for in-service edition of extension educators, 4) Weakened linkages between agricultural research and extension, etc. During the last 30 years, extension services have helped Korean farmers in achieving self sufficiency of rice and year around supply of green vegetables by diffusion of vinyl house technology. Various problems after three years of localization of extension educators were discussed between announcer of radio KBS and a professor of extension in an interview format, and it was concluded that national efforts should be needed to restore morale of extension educators to continually achieve the national goals of food production, balanced national development and preservation of environment, at the same time to meet increasing needs of farmers.

  • The article considers current information technologies in the organization of educational work in secondary schools in Great Britain. The forms and types of organization of educational work in secondary schools of Great Britain with the help of modern information technologies are covered. The purposes of education with the help of modern information technologies are singled out. Mental, physical, labor, moral, aesthetic and other types of education, merged in a holistic educational process, provide an opportunity to achieve the main goal - the formation of a comprehensive and harmoniously developed personality. All forms of educational work have their pedagogical significance, and each of them is valuable in the process of education. Democratization and partnership development are the leading principles of education in British schools at the present stage; multiculturalism and student independence. This is the ability to promote the role of different types of education, such as: labor, moral, legal, religious, family, environmental, aesthetic, civic, physical, mental education, which is now possible with the help of current information technology.   • 본 논문에서는 현대기술에 대한 랭던 위너의 철학적 분석을 자세히 소개하고' 그 의의를 평가함으로써 기술철학의 최근 동향과 나아가야 할 방향을 모색해 볼 것이다. 우선 1절에서는 위너가 기존 기술철학의 두 흐름' 즉 고전적 기술철학과 경험으로의 전환 사이에서 어떤 위치를 점하는지 알아보도록 한다. 2절부터 5절까지는 위너의 기술 이해' 현대기술사회에 대한 진단' 기존의 기술철학에 대한 비판적 분석' 현대 기술사회의 문제를 해결하기 위한 그의 제안 등을 차례로 검토한다. 6절에서는 위너 이론의 한계와 의의를 살펴본다. 위너의 지적 여정은' 기술철학의 이론들을 반성적으로 재검토하고' 이론적 연구와 더불어 실천성을 무시하지 않으며' 대중과의 소통을 시도했다는 점에서 향후 기술철학의 발전 방향에 시사하는 바가 크다.

Systems Biology and Emerging Technologies Will Catalyze the Transition from Reactive Medicine to Predictive, Personalized, Preventive and Participatory (P4) Medicine

  • We stand at the brink of a fundamental change in how medicine will be practiced. Over the next 5-20 years medicine will move from being largely reactive to being predictive, personalized, preventive and participatory (P4). Technology and new scientific strategies have always been the drivers of revolutions and this is certainly the case for P4 medicine, where a systems approach to disease, new and emerging technologies and powerful computational tools will open new windows for the investigation of disease. Systems approaches are driving the emergence of fascinating new technologies that will permit billions of measurements on each individual patient. The challenge for health information technology will be how to reduce this enormous amount of data to simple hypotheses about health and disease. We predict that emerging technologies, together with the systems approaches to diagnosis, therapy and prevention will lead to a down turn in the escalating costs of healthcare. In time we will be able to export P4 medicine to the developing world and it will become the foundation of global medicine. The "democratization" of healthcare will come from P4 medicine. Its first real emergence will require the unprecedented integration of biology, medicine, technology and computation. as well as societal issues of major importance: ethical, regulatory, public policy, economic, and others. In order to effectively move the P4 scientific agenda forward new strategic partnerships are now being created with the large-scale integration of complementary skills, technologies, computational tools, patient records and samples and analysis of societal issues. It is evident that the business plans of every sector of the healthcare industry will need to be entirely transformed over the next 10 years.and the extent to which this will be done by existing companies as opposed to newly created companies is a fascinating question.

A 'Mode 3' Science Policy Framework for South Korea - Toward a Responsible Innovation System

  • This article advocates for a Mode 3 science policy. Compared to the university research-based Mode 1 knowledge production system and the knowledge application-centric Mode 2 innovation system, Mode 3 can be defined as a system that integrates both Mode 1 and Mode 2-type knowledge production models. In this article, based on the major characteristics of the Mode 3 scientific knowledge production system, I agree with the advocates of Mode 3 that constructing a knowledge society requires an inclusive form of knowledge production and innovation system through the democratization of knowledge production as well as the promotion of social values. Moreover, the mechanisms for creating accountable innovation in the Mode 3 system should be given more attention from the science research and policy communities to make public policy for scientific and technological innovation more reflective of social changes. Similar to the ways that the Mode 1 and Mode 2 scientific knowledge production approaches have influenced the development of science policy models, the Mode 3 scientific knowledge production approach, or Mode 3 science, also has the potential to shape a new science policy model. I will refer to this as Mode 3 science policy. In an effort to conceptualize the democracy- and society-centric Mode 3 science policy model, I will articulate science policy strategies in four science policy domains in South Korea from the context of the Mode 3 science approach. These include (1) evaluation of publicly-funded research activities, (2) valorization of scientific knowledge (that is, enhancement of the value of scientific knowledge through governmental action), (3) development of a science policy decision-making support system, and (4) anticipatory foresight of science, technology and society. When adopting and implementing a Mode 3 science framework, one progressive change is to increase socially desirable innovation such as responsible innovation.
