Specifically, it was intended to develop the tool which assesses the service quality, management, to assess the difference between customer importance from and perceptions of service quality, to compare management perceptions of customer importances with actual service delivery, and to identify internal problems which affect service quality with the use of gap model. Three types of questionnaires were developed and implemented for customers, foodservice personals and foodservice manager. Assessment tools were developed based on the literature review, SERVQUAL, GAP model, and the pilot study. Through the validity and reliability test, the questionnaires were revised. Questionnaires were distributed to 900 university students, 207 foodservice personnels, and 54 foodservice manager respectively. 831 university students, 177 foodservice personnels, and 48 foodservice manager were responded with a response rate of 92.3%, 85.5%, and 88.8% respectively. Statistical data analysis was completed using the SPSS programs for descriptive analysis, ANOVA. and SNK test. The results of this study can be summarized as follows : 1. In quality service management components, 31 quality service attributes were categorized and named into primary quality, secondary quality, hygiene, empathy, tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, and price by the factor analysis. 2. Importance mean score of customers was 4.02 out of 5, but perception mean score of customers was 2.55. So there was a relative big gap(1.47) between importance and perception scores, especially in three dimensions of responsiveness, primary quality, and hygiene. 3. It showed that customers' mean scores of perceived service quality by dimensions were the following order : price > reliability > secondary quality > hygiene > tangibles > primary quality > responsiveness > empathy. And the perception mean score of rented(2.59) or contracted(2.58) management was significantly higher than that of self-operated(2.48). 4. Customers' importances mean score which internal customers recognize was 4.23 out of 5, but service delivery mean score was 3.85. So there was a little gap(0.39) between management perceptions of customer importances and actual service delivery. 5. In gap model, SERVQUAL score showed -1.47, Gap 1 positive 0.15, gap 2 negative 0.61, and gap 3 was positive 0.19. 6. The internal problems were as follows : (1) The managers of University foodservice perceived well enough the customers' expectation value but their management competency was lacked in terms of responding customer needs, (2) The foodservice staff perceived service performance more highly than service quality specifications.

  • Purpose: This research aims to analyze the service process of corporate courier services in order to offer service providers possible directions for adaptation of new technologies and assurance of better quality services. Methods: Through the analysis on the parcel service process of company Y by applying service blueprinting method, the overall process and failure service points of corporate courier services can be recognized and investigated. Next, the several newer technologies, augmented reality glasses, exoskeleton, and drone are applied to the service process of company Y as they are suggested by the literature review and referenced to DHL's report on the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Then, service options to overcome the service failure points to improve the service process can be produced. Results: The parcel service process of the company Y is utilized as a hub-and-spoke structure by having distribution and delivery centers which separates customers into two types, ones using the total services and the others only using the delivery service. In addition, the main cause of the service failures is determined that it is due to the limited working hours of delivery centers compared to the workload. Conclusion: This research contributes in better understanding of corporate courier services and providing information for benchmarking. An empirical research on the costs and the efficiencies of applying the new technologies is suggested for the further improvement in the processes of corporate courier services.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the social welfare service delivery system of Namyangju City on the satisfaction degree of the elderly with welfare services and on their quality of life. This study conducted a survey of the elderly aged 65 and over who were either service users or nonusers of the public-private partnership welfare service delivery system called Hope Care Center. A total of 324 copies including 205 copies of Hope Care Center users and 119 copies of nonusers were analyzed. The analysis shows that the four key elements of welfare service delivery system are statistically significant to the service users of Hope Care Center than the nonusers with the users' higher level of satisfaction with the services. However, in terms of quality of life, there was no meaningful distinction between the two groups. This indicates that services of Hope Care Center increased the satisfaction with welfare services, thereby improving users' quality of life to the level of nonusers. Further studies for the same subjects are expected to be deeper if they compare and analyze the before and after of using Hope Care Center with more comprehensive independent variables.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to investigate the effect of interaction between product category (fresh vs. indulgent product) and shopping options (shipping charge and delivery time) on customer satisfaction and purchase intent in an e-commerce context. When ordering groceries online, consumers begin to allocate a larger share of their grocery budget toward product categories that generally contain healthier items at the expense of product categories that generally contain more indulgent products. Moreover, customers are extremely sensitive to shipping options such as shipping charges and delivery time. Therefore, this research investigates the issue at a more segmented level to focus on the impact that one dimension of logistics service quality - product category, shipping charge, and delivery time have on customer satisfaction and purchase intent. Research design, data, and methodology: To test the theoretically derived priori hypotheses concerning product category, shipping charges, delivery time, satisfaction, and purchase intent, this research presented a scenario-based experiment. Eight treatment groups were assigned by the method of product category (fresh produce vs. indulgent product), shipping charge (free vs. paid), and delivery time (one-day vs. two to three days). A total of 240 subjects were divided into groups and exposed to one of the eight scenarios. Participant's purchase intention was the dependent variable, and ANOVA and L-matrix were used to analyze for main and interactive effects between factors. Conclusions: Results indicated that in tests 1 and 2, free shipping and fast delivery time increased consumer satisfaction as well as purchase intent, and fast delivery moderated the impact of free shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent. Test 3 showed that the effect of free shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent moderated by fast delivery for indulgent products. In contrast, fast delivery for fresh products moderated the effect of paid shipping on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent. Consistent with this proposed mechanism, the relative importance of fresh produce versus indulgent products highlights the effect of shipping options on consumer satisfaction and purchase intent when ordering the target product in an e-commerce context. We conclude with a discussion of the theoretical and practical implications of our findings.

  • The present study purposed to derive the major attributes of the service quality of port hinterlands from previous research and interviews with specialists, to examine causal relations among the service quality of hinterlands, customer satisfaction, switching barrier and customers' behavior, and to suggest strategic implications. According to the results, the service quality of port hinterlands was divided into 'interaction quality', 'physical environment quality' and 'service delivery quality,' and among the three dimensions of quality, 'physical environment quality' and 'service delivery quality' had a significant effect on customer satisfaction but 'interaction quality' did not. These results suggest directions for what dimensions of quality should be controlled in order to improve the service quality of port hinterlands with limited management resources, and thus they are expected to contribute to more strategic marketing activities upon customers.

Statistical analyses were conducted using the SPSS program (ver. 25.0) for frequency analysis, χ2 tests, t-test, factor analysis, Pearson correlation, multiple regression analysis, and Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA). Results: The importance of delivery food selection attributes was higher in the order of 'hygiene control level (4.72)', 'taste of food (4.64)', and 'delivery accuracy (4.40)'. Satisfaction assessment was higher in the order of 'taste of food (4.32)', 'delivery accuracy (4.26)', and 'convenience of using the delivery app (4.21)'. According to the results of IPA, items that were priorities for improvement were charges for delivery, discount offers, sufficient description of the menu, and rapid handling of customer complaints. On an average, overall customer satisfaction score of delivery food was 4.01 out of 5 points. Additionally, five satisfaction factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis. According to the results of multiple regression analysis, quality of delivery platform (p < 0.001), quality of delivery service (p < 0.001), convenience and diversity (p < 0.001), quality of delivery food (p < 0.001), and health and safety (p < 0.001) had significant positive effects on overall customer satisfaction. Conclusion: To increase customer satisfaction among delivery food customers, restaurant or delivery platform managers should consistently improve not only the quality of the delivery platform but also the quality of the delivery food and service.
