MPEG-21 is an on-progress project of the Moving Picture Expert Group (MPEG) that has been started in many independent parts such as part for standardizing the declaration of a digital item (MPEG-21 Part 2: Digital Item Declaration), right expression language (MPEG-21 Part S: Rights Expression Language), way to process the digital item (MPEG-21 Part 10: Digital Item Processing), etc. All this part is intended to form a framework to enable transparent and augmented use of multimedia resources across a wide range of networks and devices (1). In this paper, we show our research initiative to develop a web-based application that utilized many parts of MPEG-21 technology. The implemented concept uses a digital item and license providers in the server side while the MPEG-21 Conformant application is implemented as a plug-in application that will be downloaded to the user terminal when user accesses the webpage for the frist time. The result of this research shows that with some combination of MPEG-21 parts, we can develop an authorized multimedia delivery and consumption application.

Transfersomes are highly detormable hydrophilic lipid vesicles that are able to penetrate the skin barrier so that they can be used to carry low- and high-molecular weight molecules into the body. Until recently. it has been reported that molecules such as insulin. interleukin-2 and several other large molecules have been transported into the body using Transfersomes as a delivery system. Here however, for the very first time, genes (GFP) have been transported into the mice non-invasively using the Transtersomes as a delivery vehicle. (omitted)

In case of oral application of quinupramine, antidepressants, it may cause adverse effects such as diarrhea, nausea due to transient high blood concentration. Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) which is heat-processible, flexible, inexpensive material was used for transdermal drug delivery. The purpose of this study was to develop the new transdermal delivery system of quinupramine using EVA polymer matrix that can provide sustained release and avoid the side effects. The EVA matrix containing quinupramine was prepared by solvent-evaporation method. (omitted)

본 연구는 스마트 시니어의 배달 애플리케이션 만족도에 영향을 미치는 이용결정요인을 분석하고자 하였다. 이에 따라 본 연구는 스마트 시니어의 배달앱 만족도에 영향을 미칠 요인들을 배달앱 특성과 스마트 시니어의 개인적 특성으로 구분하여 가설을 설정하였다. 가설 검증을 위해 본 연구는 배달앱을 사용해 본 경험이 있는 50세 이상 65세 이하의 성인남녀를 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였으며 자료분석을 위한 통계처리는 확인적 요인분석, 상관관계 분석, 경로분석을 수행하였다. 본 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 배달앱 특성 중 유용성이 스마트 시니어의 배달앱 만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 둘째, 스마트 시니어의 개인적 특성 중 사회적 공감성이 스마트 시니어의 배달앱 만족도에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 배달앱 만족도는 재이용의도에 통계적으로 유의한 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 통해 스마트 시니어의 배달앱 만족과 이용을 증진시키기 위해서는 스마트 시니어가 유용하게 사용할 수 있고 사회적 공감성에 초점을 둔 배달앱 개발이 필요하다는 것을 제시하였다.

In this study, we developed lysosome-alginate beads for application as an oral drug delivery system (ODDS). The beads harboring lysosomes, which have antimicrobial activity, and various concentrations of alginate were characterized and optimized. For application as an ODDS, pH-dependent lysosome-alginate beads were generated, and the level of lysosome release was investigated by using antimicrobial tests. At low pH, lysosomes were not released from the lysosome-alginate beads; however, at neutral pH, similar to the pH in the intestine, lysosome release was confirmed, as determined by a high antimicrobial activity. This study shows the potential of such an ODDS for the in vivo treatment of infection with pathogens.

Pulsatile swelling behaviors and their application to drug delivery system were studied by using interpenetrating polymer networks(IPN) hydrogels constructed with poly(vinyl alcohol) and poly(acrylic acid). The PVA/PAAc IPNs hydrogels were symthesized by UV irradiation tallowed by repetitive freezing and thawing method. These hydrogels showed pH and temperature sensitive swelling behaviors. From the release experiment, the release amount of model drug incorporated into these hydrogels showed pulsatile patterns. Permeability coefficients obtained by various solutes differed in response to changes of permeation conditions.

This paper presents the Korean text-to-speech (TTS) algorithm with speed and intonation control capability, and describes the development of the Voice message delivery system employing this TTS algorithm. This system allows the Interpersonal Messaging (IPM) Service users of Message Handling System (MHS) to send his/her text messages to user via telephone line using synthetic voice. In the X.400 MHS recommendation, the protocols and service elements are not specified for the voice message delivery system. Thus, we defined access protocol and service elements for Voice Access Unit based on the application program interface for message transfers between X.400 Message Transfer Agent and Voice Access Unit. The system architecture and operations will be provided.

This study reviews the judgements by the Korean Supreme Court on the time of delivery of goods, as it depends on which bonded place the goods are kept for the purpose of the customs clearance. Thereafter, this study analyzes the Ocean Carrier's liability, when the cargoes are mis-delivered without the presentation of bill of lading in relation to the specific bonded place such as an independent bonded warehouse or a self-use bonded warehouse. Furthermore, considering that voyage charter is a kind of marine transport, this study also reviews whether or not the Court's judgements, which has been developed in respect of the carriage of affreightment, could be applied to voyage charter in respect of the time of delivery goods and the Ocean Carrier's liability for mis-delivery. Lastly, in the case that the substantial importer takes the goods from the independent bonded warehouse without the presentation of bill of lading after the customs clearance, it is noted that the Court has made the Ocean Carrier liable for the mis-delivery through the application of theory of double deposit contract. The position of the Court would be understandable in terms of the protection for the bona-fide holder of bill of lading, but this study reviews the limitation of liability as the device for the protection of the Ocean Carrier, considering the situation where the Ocean Carrier is somewhat unreasonably sacrificed under the bonded system provided for the convenience of substantial importer.

Background : Critical pathway is an optional sequencing and timing of interventions by physicians, nurses, and other staff for a particular diagnosis or procedure, designed to minimize delays and resource utilization, and to maximize quality of care; abbreviated versions of case management plans that show critical outcome and key incidents that occur in a predictable and timely fashion to achieve an appropriate length of stay. This study is to develop a critical pathway for vaginal delivery and cesarean section to assess the degree of contentment of the patients and medical personnel and to implement clinical application to see how we could meet the need to guide patients to achieve continuum of care. Method : Critical pathways were developed for normal vaginal delivery and casarean section. LOS(length of stay) target for vaginal delivery was 1 day after delivery & 5 days after C-section. It was distributed to the mother at the OPD and explained thoroughly. It was applied when patients got into the Labor & Delivery Floor. We applied total of 42 patients (30 normal deliveries & 12 C-sections) from February to March, 2000. We performed patient satisfaction survey to all 42 patients, 24 nurses, and 7 residents for internal customer satisfaction. Results : Twenty six patients out of 42 responded to the survey. Twenty one patients out of 26 answered satisfactory. Eighty four percent of 21 respondents replied Critical pathway worked very well. Treatment column got the most compliance. Eleven out of 31 employees thought critical pathway is very helpful for the patient care. Eighteen people didn't see any difference. In their opinion, treatment got the least compliance, which is the contrary to patients opinion. Fifty eight percent of respondents thought that critical pathway can expedite early discharge. Conclusion : Patient satisfaction was higher than we expected but we still need to revise the form. It is recommended to analyze the cost and variance check in the future.
