  • An electronically Scannable microphone system is in the Planning stage. For this Purpose, a multiple microphone array with controllable delay is available. To achieve effective point-listening characteristics, we proposed an enclosed microphone array system with a complex weighting method. In this system, both the microphone arrangement and the value of the complex weighting are important. In this report, the construction of microphone array system and the signal-processing method are explained, and the calculation method for optimal complex weighting is also presented. A prototype experimental setup is designed and fabricated to verify the expected characteristics.

  • UDP has likely been used for real-time applications, such as video and audio. UDP supplies minimized transmission delay by omitting the connection setup process, flow control, and retransmission In general, more than 80 percent of the WAN resources are occupied by Transmission Control Protocol(TCP) traffic as opposed to UDP's simplicity, TCP adopts a unique flow control in this paper, I report new methods to minimize a udp packet loss considering TCP flow control on the real-time application the better performance of real time application can be obtained when they reduce a packet size and FIFO buffer scheduling method competing with TCP bandwidth for the bandwidth and buffering.

  • Manual or mechanical compression followed by 4 to 8 hours of bed rest is still the standard technique for accessing site management of the femoral arterial puncture site. But these methods are often uncomfortable and delay hospital discharge. Recently, a number of new devices to achieve hemostasis have been developed. These devices uses collagen to facilitate local hemostasis. But many complications associated with the use these devices have been reported internationally. We present a case of successful treatment of Rt. femoral and Rt. popliteal arteries thrombosis caused by Angioseal.

  • The proposed scheme minimizes the Idle time under the residual energy of the sensor node to adjust the Sleep-Wakeup period and minimize unnecessary energy consumption. It is The proposed scheme minimizes the Idle time under the residual energy of the sensor node to adjust the Sleep-Wakeup period and minimize unnecessary energy consumption. It is an important process to control the Application Packet Framework including the PHY and the MAC layer at each node's Idle time with the Idle time mechanism state before the proposed function is executed. The Current Control Level of the Report Attribute is fixed at one sending / receiving node where power consumption can occur, by changing Sleep-Wakeup time, the low power consumption efficiency was improved while satisfying the transmission requirement of the given delay time constraint.

  • We present here the case of a 13-year-old male patient with Alexander's disease who underwent surgical correction of a femur fracture. Alexander's disease is a rare and fatal disorder that affects the white matter in the brain and it causes developmental delay, psychomotor regression, spasticity, megaloencephaly and seizure. The patient had the possibility of a seizure attack during the perioperative period. We discuss the anesthetic management of a patient with Alexander's disease and we review the relevant literature.

  • Pancoast syndrome (PS) is characterized by a malignant neoplasm of the superior sulcus of the lung with destructive lesions of the thoracic inlet and involvement of the brachial plexus and cervical sympathetic nerves. The most common initial symptom of PS is shoulder pain; however, cough, dyspnea, and hemoptysis, signs often associated with lung cancer, are not as common. Investigation of PS can be difficult even with plain radiographs of the chest because it is surrounded by osseous structures such as the ribs, vertebral bodies, and manubrium. Due to these characteristics, orthopedic surgeons tend to make a misdiagnosis resulting in delay of appropriate treatment. Here we report on a patient who was supposed to undergo rotator cuff repair for his shoulder pain and weakness, and was eventually diagnosed with PS.

  • The demand of cyclotron for PET (positron emission tomography) has rapidly grown as the more use of PET or PET-CT equipment requires the increased amount of radioactive isotopes for clinical positron emission. While research on failure statistics of medical equipment used in medical centers has continued to be done, the analysis and study on failure statistics of cyclotron have rarely been conducted. However, the growing demand shows the urgency of systematical management guideline and countermeasures for device failure to minimize any supply delay of radiopharmaceuticals occurred by such failure and complains from waiting patients for PET-CT diagnosis. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the failure report from Minitrace equipped in cyclotron which is owned by the department of nuclear medicine at Yeungnam University Medical Center and draws on the data to build effective management system for cyclotron.

  • Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome is a rare hereditary disease that results from a 4p chromosome deletion. Patients with this syndrome are characterized by craniofacial dysgenesis, seizures, growth delay, intellectual disability, and congenital heart disease. Although several cases have been reported, very little information is available on anesthetic management for patients with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. We encountered a case requiring anesthetic management for a 2-year-old girl with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. The selection of an appropriately sized tracheal tube and maintaining intraoperatively stable hemodynamics might be critical problems for anesthetic management. In patients with short stature, the tracheal tube size may differ from what may be predicted based on age. The appropriate size ( internal diameter ) of tracheal tubes for children has been investigated. Congenital heart disease is frequently associated with Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome. Depending on the degree and type of heart disease, careful monitoring of hemodynamics is important.

  • Paraplegia following spinal epidural anesthesia is extremely rare. Various lesions for neurologic complications have been documented in the literature. We report a 66-year-old female who developed paraplegia after left knee surgery for osteoarthritis under spinal epidural anesthesia. In the recovery room, paraplegia and numbness below T4 vertebra was checked. A magnetic resonance image (MRI) scan showed a spinal thoracic intradural extramedullary (IDEM) tumor. After extirpation of the tumor, the motor weakness improved to the grade of 3/5. If a neurologic deficit following spinal epidural anesthesia does not resolve, a MRI should be performed without delay to accurately diagnose the cause of the deficit and optimal treatment should be rendered for the causative lesion.

  • In the linear combination type stereophonic echo canceller, it is known not to converge the coefficient vector of the adaptive filter to a correct echo path. In this report, we analyze the convergence value of the filter coefficient vector of the stereo echo canceling algorithm using input signals of all channels in relation to this problem. In this analysis, one of the two inputs to the un-known system and adaptive one are assumed to be a delayed and attenuated version of the other signal as a model of the input signal with a strong cross-correlation. As a result, it is shown for the coefficient vectors not to converge to echo paths, and nor to converge to the value which depends on the time delay and the attenuation of the input signal. We show that the computer simulation result are corresponding to our analytical results.
