A three dimensional finite element generation code has been developed attaching simple blocks. Block can be either a quadrature or a cube depending on the dimension of a subject considered. Finite element serendipity basis functions are employed to map elements between the computational domain and the physical domain. Elements can be generated with wser defined progressive ratio for each block. For blocks to be connected properly, a block should have a consistent numbering scheme for vertices, side nodes, edges and surfaces. In addition the edge information such as the number of elements and the progressive ratio for each direction should also be checked for interfaces to have unique node numbers. Having done so, user can add blocks with little worry about the orientation of blocks, Since the present the present code has been written by a Visual Basic language, it can be developed easily for a user interactive manner under a Windows environment.
This study was conducted to obtain the basic information for breeding of burley(N. tabacum cv. burley) and sun-cured tobacco(N. tabacum cv. sun-cured) variety. Two burley(Burley 21, KB 108), and T.I. 1068 and three sun-cured varieties(Yeonbyeon 3, Jaheungyeon and Jaraehong) were diallel crossed and 15 combinations of F$_1$generations were made in 1998, respectively. Six parental varieties, 15 F$_1$s were grown under the complete randomized block design with 3 replications at Chonju Experiment Station, Korea Ginseng & Tobacco Research Institute in 2000. The data of 12 quantitative characters were measured for degree of heterosis. The results obtained are as follows. Heterosis of F$_1$generation was positive in weight per leaf, plant height, stem diameter, yield, leaf length and total alkaloid content. Cross combinations between either Burley 21 or KB 108 and sun-cured varieties showed comparatively high heterosis in each characters.
This study examines adult perceptions of old age planning and the factors that explain the degree of their planning for the future. The data came from 478 adults between the age of 30 and 59 living in Gunpo city. Major findings can be summarized as follows. First, we find that participants are well aware of the need for old age planning, and that the majority of them think aey are responsible for their old age security. Nevertheless they are not preparing for later life very much. Second, they are doing their best planking for their later lives in the area of social activities. The degree of participants' preparation varies depending on their age and socioeconomic factors. Finally, participants who strongly recognize their parents' role are also more likely to plan for the future. These results suggest that the educational programs and systems for pre-instruction about various plans for old age be developed for even younger people.
The purpose of this study was to identify the determinants of traditional food perception, by taking the generation effect into account. This study also analyzed the preference patterns of traditional snacks and the strength as well as direction of improvement for traditional foods. Data were collected from 304 housewives living in the Baeong-Nyeong-Do island. Regression analysis showed that the determinants of traditional food perception varied depending on the generation of housewives. In the 30s age subgroup, income and family type were significantly related with the degree of traditional food perception. In the 40s age subgroup, household income, education, and hometown location were significant, whereas household income, family type, number of years of life spent in the Baeong-Nyeong-Do island, hometown location were the significant factors in the 50s and 60s age subgroup. The results of factor analysis showed that there were three preference patterns of traditional snacks. The results of chi-square analysis proved that foods for strength, and direction of improvement for traditional foods were different among the generation groups. In this article, similarities and differences between determinants of traditional foods, the strength and direction of improvement for traditional foods are discussed, and their implications for nutritionists as well as food marketers are provided.

Most air pollution and smog are a result of the burning of fossil fuels. The use of fossil fuels also causes acid rain and global warming. So the need for solar energy utilization is increased. It is essentially important to make efforts to reduce usage of fossil energy resources. In this study, we analyzed the correlation between climatic elements(Cloud cover, Duration of sunshine, Temperature) and the photovoltaic power generation. Cloud cover of the correlation coefficient was 0.87. And duration of sunshine of the correlation coefficient was 0.93. The order of the correlation coefficient was duration of sunshine, cloud cover, temperature. To accurately analyze of the degree of correlation for the photovoltaic power generation, additional research about climatic elements that show a high correlation is needed.

Concerning about global warming due to emission of greenhouse effect gas like C02 and depletion of fossil fuels have been spreading. So the need for solar energy utilization is increased. It is essentially important to make efforts to reduce usage of fossil energy resources. In this study, we analyzed the correlation between climatic elements and the photovoltaic power generation. Cloud cover of the correlation coefficient was 0.93. The order of the correlation coefficient was average temperatures, hours of sunshine duration of sunshine and the humidity. To accurately analyze of the degree of correlation for the photovoltaic power generation, additional research about climatic elements that show a high correlation is needed.

Falling film heat transfer analyses with aqueous lithium bromide solution were peformed to investigate the transfer characteristics of the copper tubes. Finned(knurled) tube and a smooth tube were selected as test specimens. Averaged generation fluxes of water and the heat transfer performances(heat flux, heat transfer coefficient) were obtained. The results of this work were compared with the data reported previously. As the film flow rate of the solution increased, the generation fluxes of water decreased for both tubes. The reason is estimated by the fact that the heat transfer resistance with the film thickness increased as the film flow rate increased. The effect of the enlarged surface area at the knurled tube was supposed to be dominant at a small flow rate. The generation fluxes of water increased with the increasing degree of tube wall superheat. Nucleate boiling is supposed to occur at a wall superheat of 20 K for a smooth tube, and at 10 K for a knurled tube. The heat transfer performance of the falling film was superior to pool boiling at a low wall superheat below 10 K for both tubes tested. The knurled tube geometry showed good performance than the smooth tube, and the increased performance was mainly came from the effect of the increased heating surface area.

In CAD systems, a surface to be machined is expressed by a series of curves, such as B-spline, Bezier and NURBS curves, which compose the surface and then in CAM systems the curves are divided into a large number of line or arc segments. These divided movement commands, however, cause many problems including their excessive size of NC data that makes almost impossible local adjustment or modification of the surface. To cope with those problems, the necessity of real-time curve or surface interpolators was embossed. This paper presents an efficient real-time tool-path generation method fur interpolation of NURBS surfaces in CNC machining. The proposed tool-path generation method is based on an improved iso-scallop strategy and can provide better precision than the existing methods. The proposed method is designed such that tool-path planning is easily managed in real-time. It proposed a new algorithm for regulation of a scallop height, which can efficiently generate tool-paths and can save machining time compared with the existing method. Through computer simulations, the performance of the proposed method is analyzed and compared with the existing method in terms of federate, total machining time and a degree of constraint on the scallop height.

Recently the trends of telecommunications market is able to be explained by the shift of center from wire to and the rapid increase of data service. Not only all the world is tied one by emerging Internet and its fast spread, but also the degree of building If is the most important measure to evaluate national competence. In this point of view, next generation Internet is required for strengthening comparative advantage in industry and infrastructure in country. So in this paper, identifying the limitation of present Internet, and the concept of next generation Internet. Finally it is suggested in this paper that definition of optical Internet as next generation Internet of which technical situation and evolution direction, then provide to the implication for successful its establishment.
We investigated the generation of high pretilt angle for nematic liquid crystal (NLC) in the cell with slanted non-polarized ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation on two kinds of the polyimide (PI) film. It was shown that the monodomain alignment in NLC is obtained in the cell with slanted non-polarized UV light irradiation on PI surface. The pretilt angle of NLC is generated about 3 degrees in the cell with slanted non-polarized UV light irradiation with 70 degrees on PI surface without side chain. But, the pretilt angle of NLC is generated about 1 degree in the cell with slanted non-polarized UV light irradiation with 80 degrees on PI surface with side chain. We consider that the pretilt angle generation in NLC is attributted to anisotropic dispersion force between the LC molecular and the PI surface.
