미국의 탄도미사일 방어체계와 THAAD (U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense System and THAAD)

  • 제2차 세계대전 중에 최초의 탄도미사일인 V-2가 등장한 이후 발전하는 과학기술에 힘입어 미사일의 사거리, 정밀도 등이 비약적으로 향상됨에 따라 탄도미사일의 위협은 나날이 커지고 있다. 미국은 탄도미사일의 위협으로부터 자국 및 동맹국을 보호하기 위해 탄도미사일 방어체계(BMDS, Ballistic Missile Defense System)를 운용하고 있다. 센서에 의해 탐지된 탄도미사일은 요격 체계의 종류에 따라 부스트단계(Boost phase), 중간단계(Midcourse phase), 종말단계(Terminal phase) 등에서 요격하게 되며, THAAD(Terminal High Altitude Area Defense)는 고고도 종말단계에서 요격하는 체계이다. 본 논문에서는 미국의 탄도미사일 방어체계의 개념에 대해 간략히 설명하고, 그 중 THAAD의 운용 및 기술적 특징에 대해 집중적으로 조사하여 정리하였다.

Spatial Decorrelation of SBAS Satellite Error Corrections in the Korean Peninsular

  • The characteristics of the SBAS satellite orbit and clock corrections are highly affected by the narrow network size in the Korean peninsula, which is expected to have an important role in the future dual frequency SBAS. The correlation between satellite corrections can be analyzed in terms of the spatial decorrelation effect which should be analyzed to keep the service area as wide as possible. In this paper, the characteristics of satellite error corrections for the potential Korean dual frequency SBAS were analyzed, and an optimal filter design approach is proposed to maximize the service area.

다수표적지역에 대한 공격 항공기 할당모형 (Assignment Model of Attack Aircraft for Multi-Target Area)

  • The probability of target survival is the most important factor in the target assignment, Most of the studies about it have assumed the case of one target and ane weapon type. Therefore, they can not be applied to the real situation. In this paper. the quantity and type of enemy assets of the friendly force are considered simultaneously. Considered defense type is the coordinated defense with no impact point prediction. The objective function is to minimize the expected total survival value of targets which are scattered in the defense area. The rules of aircraft assignment are as follows : first, classify targets into several groups, each of those has the same desired damage level secondly. select the critical group which has the least survival value in accordance with the additional aircraft assignment, and finally. assign the same number of attack assets against each target in the critical group. In this paper, the attack assets, the escort assets, and the defense assets are considered. The model is useful to not only the simple aircraft assignment problem but also the complicated wargame models.

  • Recently, China & Japan have expanded their responding ADIZ(Air Defence Identification Zone) to implement each Government's maritime policy and to project their Air Power in preparation for maritime provocation & contingency, especially over the piled area where East Asia countries have claimed to have maritime jurisdiction one another. So this is to guide the Development Option for Korea Air Defence Identification Zone to cope with the maritime intentions of the neighboring countries, considering the international law for ADIZ, the maritime policy and the maritime sovereign & jurisdiction area of the Republic of Korea, etc.

재난 지역 다수 조난자 구조를 위한 최적 경로 계획 알고리즘 연구 (A Study on the Optimal Routing Planning Algorithm for Rescue of Multiple Victims in Disaster Area)

  • The large-scale disasters occur to unexpected accidents such as natural disasters(earthquake, typhoon, tsunami, etc.), and human-caused accidents(fire, collapse, terror etc.). Rescue teams perform rescue activities to save many lives in large-scale disaster area. The main purpose of this study is to compose a optimal routing planning for rescue of multiple victims in disaster area. A realistic routing planning with rescue limit time which considers rehabilitation and reconstruction will be suggested in this study. A mathematical programming model and a hybrid genetic algorithm will be suggested to minimize the total spending time. By comparing the result, the suggested algorithm gives a better solution than existing algorithms.

Performance Analysis of Wide-Area Differential Positioning Based on Regional Navigation Satellite System

  • The position accuracy of the stand-alone Regional Navigation Satellite System (RNSS) users is more than tens of meters because of various error sources in satellite navigation signals. This paper focuses on wide-area differential (WAD) positioning technique, which is already applied in Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), in order to improve the position accuracy of RNSS users. According to the simulation results in the very narrow ground network in regional area, the horizontal position error of stand-alone RNSS is about RMS 11.6 m, and that of RNSS with WAD technique, named the WAD-RNSS, is about RMS 2.5 m. The accuracy performance has improved by about 78%.

산악지형에서의 UHF대역 전파손실예측을 위한 LEE모델 적용방안 연구 (A Study on LEE Model Application for Propagation Loss Estimation of UHF band in Mountain Area)

  • In this paper, we have compared some radio propagation models in order to verify the performance of W.C.Y LEE propagation model in mountain area. The four propagation models, which are Okumura-Hata, ITU-R P.525, Egli and W.C.Y. LEE, are analyzed by comparing the differences between measured values and propagation loss estimation values. And a correction method for W.C.Y LEE model is suggested to improve the performance of W.C.Y. LEE model with measured data in mountain area. Simulation results show that the estimation error using W.C.Y LEE model is the lowest among four propagation models. Also, the results show that the corrected W.C.Y LEE model with suggested method improves the performance of propagation loss estimation.

국방과학기술 전문용어 사전 구축을 위한 프로세스 및 워크벤치 개발 (Science and Technology Terminology Dictionary Building Process and Workbench Development in Defense Area)

  • 용어 의미 표준화를 통한 업무의 효율성을 높이기 위해서 다양한 분야에서 전문용어가 구축 활용되고 있으며, 국방분야에서도 국방용어 사전 발간을 통해 각 군의 효율적인 업무 연계 및 표준화된 국방 용어 유통체계를 정립하는데 노력하고 있다. 국방기술품질원에서도 3년을 주기로 국방과학기술분야의 전문용어 사전을 발간함으로써 전문용어 구축 표준화 연구는 물론, 전문용어의 활용성 제고에 힘쓰고 있다. 본 연구에서는 국방기술품질원에서 전문용어 사전을 실제로 구축하는데 필요한 구축 프로세스와 조직, 이를 지원하기 위한 워크벤치에 대해서 기술하고 있다. 즉, 국방과학기술 전문용어 사전을 구축하기 위한 전문용어 사전구축 프로세스 및 조직의 구성, 표제어 정의, 전문용어 후보 추출을 위한 대상 문서의 선정, 전문용어 후보추출, 전문용어 후보군 생성, 워크벤치 등록, 사전 구축, 사전 검증 과정에 대해서 설명하고 있다, 또한 전문 용어 사전의 활용성 제고를 위해서 시소러스를 구축 활용하는 내용은 물론, 전문용어 사전 구축을 위해서 개발된 워크벤치의 기능을 중심으로 효율적인 전문용어 사전 구축 지원 방법에 대해서도 기술한다.

화생방 보고관리 및 모델링 S/W 시스템(NBC_RAMS)의 라그랑지안 퍼프 및 입자 모델에 따른 화학작용제 이송·확산 분석 (A Study on Transport and Dispersion of Chemical Agent According to Lagrangian Puff and Particle Models in NBC_RAMS)

  • This research mainly focuses on the transport and dispersion of chemical agent plume according to the Lagrangian Puff Model and Lagrangian Particle Model of NBC_RAMS(Nuclear, Biological, Chemical Reporting And Modeling S/W System). NBC_RAMS was developed with the purposes of estimating the fate of Chemical, Biological, and Radioactive(CBR) agent plumes and evaluating damages in the Republic of Korea. First, it calculates the local weather pattern, i.e. wind speed, wind direction, and temperature, by considering the effects of land uses and topography. The plume behaviors are calculated by adopting the Lagrangian Puff Model(LPFM) or Lagrangian Particle Model(LPTM). In this research, we assumed a virtual chemical agent exposure event in a stable atmospheric condition during the summer season. The plume behaviors were estimated by both LPFM and LPTM on the used area(urbanized and dry area) and the agricultural land. The higher heat flux in the used area led to stronger winds and further downward movement moving of the chemical agent than the farmland. The lateral dispersion of the chemical plume was emphasized in the Lagrangian Puff Model because it adopted Gaussian distribution.
