The goal of deep learning is to extract complex features from multidimensional data use the features to create models that connect input and output. Deep learning is a process of learning nonlinear features and functions from complex data, and the user data that is employed to train deep learning models has become the focus of privacy concerns. Companies that collect user's sensitive personal information, such as users' images and voices, own this data for indefinite period of times. Users cannot delete their personal information, and they cannot limit the purposes for which the data is used. The study has designed a deep learning method that employs privacy protection technology that uses distributed collaborative learning so that multiple participants can use neural network models collaboratively without sharing the input datasets. To prevent direct leaks of personal information, participants are not shown the training datasets during the model training process, unlike traditional deep learning so that the personal information in the data can be protected. The study used a method that can selectively share subsets via an optimization algorithm that is based on modified distributed stochastic gradient descent, and the result showed that it was possible to learn with improved learning accuracy while protecting personal information.
This paper analyzes the feasibility of using machine learning and deep learning methods to forecast the income and employment using the strategic industries as well as investment, export, and exchange rates. The decision tree, artificial neural network, support vector machine, and deep learning models were used to forecast the income and employment in Busan. The following were the main findings of the comparison of their predictive abilities. First, the decision tree models predict the income and employment well. The forecasting values for the income and employment appeared somewhat differently according to the depth of decision trees and several conditions of strategic industries as well as investment, export, and exchange rates. Second, since the artificial neural network models show that the coefficients are somewhat low and RMSE are somewhat high, these models are not good forecasting the income and employment. Third, the support vector machine models show the high predictive power with the high coefficients of determination and low RMSE. Fourth, the deep neural network models show the higher predictive power with appropriate epochs and batch sizes. Thus, since the machine learning and deep learning models can predict the employment well, we need to adopt the machine learning and deep learning models to forecast the income and employment.
There has been considerable recent interest in deep learning techniques for structural analysis and design. However, despite newer algorithms and more precise methods have been developed in the field of computer science, the recent effective deep learning techniques have not been applied to the damage detection topics. In this study, we have explored the structural damage detection method of truss structures using the state-of-the-art deep learning techniques. The deep neural networks are used to train knowledge of the patterns in the response of the undamaged and the damaged structures. A 31-bar planar truss are considered to show the capabilities of the deep learning techniques for identifying the single or multiple-structural damage. The frequency responses and the elasticity moduli of individual elements are used as input and output datasets, respectively. In all considered cases, the neural network can assess damage conditions with very good accuracy.

The complexity of deep learning models affects the real-time performance of gesture recognition, thereby limiting the application of gesture recognition algorithms in actual scenarios. Hence, a residual learning neural network based on a deep convolutional neural network is proposed. First, small convolution kernels are used to extract the local details of gesture images. Subsequently, a shallow residual structure is built to share weights, thereby avoiding gradient disappearance or gradient explosion as the network layer deepens; consequently, the difficulty of model optimisation is simplified. Additional convolutional neural networks are used to accelerate the refinement of deep abstract features based on the spatial importance of the gesture feature distribution. Finally, a fully connected cascade softmax classifier is used to complete the gesture recognition. Compared with the dense connection multiplexing feature information network, the proposed algorithm is optimised in feature multiplexing to avoid performance fluctuations caused by feature redundancy. Experimental results from the ISOGD gesture dataset and Gesture dataset prove that the proposed algorithm affords a fast convergence speed and high accuracy.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of deep neural network model in order to determine whether there is a risk factor for coronary artery disease based on the cardiac variation parameter. The study used unidentifiable 297 data to evaluate the performance of the model. Input data consists of heart rate parameters, which are SDNN (standard deviation of the N-N intervals), PSI (physical stress index), TP (total power), VLF (very low frequency), LF (low frequency), HF (high frequency), RMSSD (root mean square of successive difference) APEN (approximate entropy) and SRD (successive R-R interval difference), the age group and sex. Output data are divided into normal and patient groups, and the patient group consists of those diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, and hyperlipidemia among the various risk factors that can cause coronary artery disease. Based on this, a binary classification model was applied using Deep Neural Network of deep learning techniques to classify normal and patient groups efficiently. To evaluate the effectiveness of the model used in this study, Kernel SVM (support vector machine), one of the classification models in machine learning, was compared and evaluated using same data. The results showed that the accuracy of the proposed deep neural network was train set 91.79% and test set 85.56% and the specificity was 87.04% and the sensitivity was 83.33% from the point of diagnosis. These results suggest that deep learning is more efficient when classifying these medical data because the train set accuracy in the deep neural network was 7.73% higher than the comparative model Kernel SVM.
Deep learning has been used for various processing centered on image recognition. One core algorithms of the deep learning, convolutional neural network is an deep neural network that specialized in image recognition. In this paper, we use a convolutional neural network to classify forest insects and propose an optimization method. Experiments were carried out by combining two weight initialization and six parameter update methods. As a result, the Xavier-SGD method showed the highest performance with an accuracy of 82.53% in the 12 different combinations of experiments. Through this, the latest learning algorithms, which complement the disadvantages of the previous parameter update method, we conclude that it can not lead to higher performance than existing methods in all application environments.
DBN-DNN 모형의 성능은 통계학적 모형성능 평가지표 (coefficient of efficiency, CE; coefficient of determination, $r^2$; root mean square error, RMSE; mean absolute error, MAE)를 이용하여 평가되었으며, 기존의 두가지 형태의 ANN (artificial neural network), 즉 모형학습 시 SGD (stochastic gradient descent) 및 GD (gradient descent)를 각각 적용한 ANN-SGD 및 ANN-GD 모형과 비교하였다.

Image noise classification is a classical problem in the field of image processing, machine learning, deep learning and computer vision. In this paper, image noise classification is performed using deep learning. Keras deep learning library of TensorFlow is used for this purpose. 6900 images images are selected from the Kaggle database for the classification purpose. Dataset for labeled noisy images of multiple type was generated with the help of Matlab from a dataset of non-noisy images. Labeled dataset comprised of Salt & Pepper, Gaussian and Sinusoidal noise. Different training and tests sets were partitioned to train and test the model for image classification. In deep neural networks CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is used due to its in-depth and hidden patterns and features learning in the images to be classified. This deep learning of features and patterns in images make CNN outperform the other classical methods in many classification problems.
