The use ef sheet material for the hydroforming of a closed hollow body out of two sheet metal blanks is a new class of hydroforming process. By using a three-dimensional finite element program, called HydroFORM-3D, the hydroforming process of sheet metal pairs is analyzed. Also the comparison of conventional deep-drawing and hydroforming process was conducted. The simulation has concentrated on the influences of the various forming conditions, such as the unwelded or welded sheet metal pairs and friction condition, on the hydroforming process. This computational approach can prevent time-consuming trial-and-error in designing the expensive die sets and hydroforming process of sheet metal pairs.
This paper is concerned with spring back after sheet forming of bulk amorphous alloys in the super cooled liquid state. The temperature-dependence and strain-rate dependence of Newtonian/non-Newtonian viscosities as well as the stress overshoot/undershoot behavior of amorphous alloys are reflected in the thermo-mechanical Finite Element simulations. Hemispherical deep drawing operations are simulated for various forming conditions such as punch velocity, die comer radius, friction, blank holder force, clearance and initial funning temperature. Here, spring back by an instantaneous elastic unloading was followed by thermal deformation during cooling, and two modes of spring back are examined in detail. It could be concluded that the superior sheet formability of an amorphous alloy can be obtained by taking the proper forming conditions for loading/unloading.

In this paper Research development about a micro metal forming manufacturing system has been developed. A micro forming system has been achieved in Japan and it's developed micro press is limited to single forming process. To coincide with the purpose to be more practical, research and development is necessary about the press which the multi forming process is possible. We set the development of the equipment including micro deep drawing, micro punching and micro restriking process to the goal. To achieve this goal, we set the application product to a micro thin foil valve which is used in the micro pump module. The compound die set has been designed and manufactured to make two step process. The material of thin foil valve is SUS-304 and its thickness is 50$\mu$m. We can get a good forming results from micro punching experiments in this paper.

In case of aluminum-cased battery, The ratio of height and base of square is generally above the ten times, square-shaped and problem of non-axis symmetry. It is typical model to set up the analysis method of finite element. The reliable analysis of finite element method is suggested, which is used to investigate the possibility that multi-stage deep drawing and ironing used currently is replaced by backward impact extrusion favorable in the respect of cost production and productivity. The influence of parameter was analyzed and compared, which was considered to analyze the process of large deformation plasticity such as extrusion. Die and billet was made as the same shape of finite element model. The results of experiment show good forming without the rupture and wrinkles with the optimum velocity 100mm/sec obtained by analysis.
Electrohydraulic forming(EHF), one of the high-speed forming method, can supplement the weak point of previous forming process such as deep-drawing and electromagnetic forming. Indeed, EHF is time-consuming process during installing wire before experiment that hard to apply to industry. In this research, applying wireless electrode, the formability of SUS430 sheet was compared through EHF experiments using wire-installed electrode and the other, wireless. Although the power was a little lacking, the advantages of the experiment using wireless electrode could be confirmed with checking the optimal location of electrodes where the plasma is generated and comparing free-bulging height depending on former and later condition of electrodes with performing several single and multistage experiments for same voltage, 6 kV.

Recently, thin and light-weight production technologies are needed in IT industry in accordance with increase of the smart phones and mobile PC products. In order to make light and high rigidity products, engineering plastic and aluminum materials are frequently used in products appearance and frame hat support structure. Especially aluminum extrusion and CNC Brick processes are widely used for high strength and high rigidity technology. But extrusion method has constraints to apply exterior design and CNC Brick process has relatively high production cost and low speed of manufacturing. In this research, a new process method is introduced in order to reduce material cost and to improve manufacturing speed dramatically. Plate forging process means basically that thickening of local wall area thickness after deform exterior shape by deep drawing and bending process. Therefore, it is possible to minimize the waste of material and the manufacturing time. In this study the process of plate forging is designed using finite element program AFDEX-2D and the thickness and the width of initial deformed blank. And it is verified as a sample which is a part of laptop developed through the proposed plate forging method.

This study shows the process design and forming analysis of permalloy shielding can that support the automobile multi-display parts to indicate the accurate information of car. This study is particularly important, since the strain and thickness of permalloy shielding can is known to affect the magnetic properties such as coercivity and permeability quite thickness of permalloy shielding can is known to affect the magnetic properties such as coercivity and permeability quite sensitively. The objective functions are strain and thickness deviation. The punch radius, die radius and blank holding force are considered as design parameters. Orthogonal array (OA) table and characteristics are applied to neural network (NN) as train data. After training, the optimal and robust condition of design parameters is selected. This study shows the correlation between the design methodology of NN and the statistical design of experiments (DOE) approach.

The demand for electric motor fuel cells has surged in the automotive industry, leading to a recent increase in the demand for square aluminum cans used as fuel cell battery casings. The air vent located on the bottom of the rectangular battery casing prevents large explosions by intermittent pressure release prior to the accumulation of abnormally high pressures. Conventionally, the square cup battery casing is produced via six-step deep drawing, with the outer shape of the vent being manufactured by welding to the square battery casing. On the other hand, this study directly incorporated the air vent outlet into the bottom surface of the rectangular casing. The product of a coupled finite element analysis technique applying the thickness and contour generated from the square cup multi-step deep drawing formation analysis was used as the forging input shape. The results yielded increased prediction accuracy and the advanced prediction of defects, such as swelling and fracture. Based on the results of the initial analyses, two of the generated forging shapes were determined to be suitable, with the optimal forging shape being determined by molding analysis. The results presented here were validated by mold fabrication and a subsequent comparison of the actual and analytical results.
The mold industry in Japan, an advanced country in the mold industry, is also at a point of great change. The main causes are the Ukraine crisis and the collapse of the global supply chain (parts supply chain) caused by COVID-19. In addition, the prices of overseas products are rising sharply due to rapid exchange rate fluctuations (decrease in the value of the yen). Until now, Japan's monotsukuri industry has been actively pursuing overseas expansion, riding the trend of globalization. However, the trend began to rapidly reverse, and now the monotsukuri industry that had expanded overseas is showing a tendency to return to Japan. Another factor of change is the change in the automobile industry, which is the most demanded product in the mold industry. As the automobile industry evolves from gasoline cars to electric cars, the number of parts that make up a car will drastically decrease. This trend is expected to increase the demand for small-scale production of a variety of products in the mold industry, and furthermore, it is expected that short delivery times will be required in parts development. As in Korea, the production population working in the mold industry is rapidly decreasing in Japan as well. Even if you add up the total population working in manufacturing in Japan, it only accounts for about 15%. Even in Japan, it is judged that it will be difficult to sustain the monotsukuri industry with this small production population. Therefore, since improvement in production efficiency cannot be expected with the same manual dexterity as before, the mold industry is also demanding the development of mold technology at a different level than before to increase productivity. In this paper, I would like to introduce new Japanese mold technology collected through attending the Intermold exhibition. This is an example of applying a dedicated pin (Gastos) to a mold to prevent an increase in internal pressure during plastic injection molding, and a deep drawing press molding technology with an inherent hydraulic function.
