The variability in the phosphorus concentrations and the decomposition rates of organic phosphorus were measured in two rivers, the Youngsan River and the Sumjin River through four surveys in June, August and December of 2006 and February of 2007. Water samples were incubated for 20 days in a dark incubator and the change of forms of phosphorus (POP, DOP, DIP) were analyzed. By fitting the change to four types of models the decomposition rates of organic phosphorus were determined. The mean total organic phosphorus (TOP) decomposition rate coefficients in the Youngsan River and the Sumjin River were $0.036day^{-1}$ and $0.035day^{-1}$, respectively. In POP$\rightarrow$DIP model, the average decomposition rate coefficients in the Youngsan River and the Sumjin River were 0.049 and $0.035day^{-1}$, respectively. The average POP decomposition rate coefficients of POP$\rightarrow$DOP$\rightarrow$DIP model were $0.042day^{-1}$ and $0.038day^{-1}$ in the Youngsan River and Sumjin River respectively while the mean DOP decomposition rate coefficients were $0.255day^{-1}$ and $0.244day^{-1}$, respectively. In the Youngsan River, the mean POP$\rightarrow$DOP decomposition rate coefficient and POP$\rightarrow$DIP decomposition rate coefficient of POP$\rightarrow$DOP$\rightarrow$DIP, POP$\rightarrow$DIP model were $0.039day^{-1}$ and $0.007day^{-1}$, respectively. And in the Sumjin River, the above decomposition rate coefficients were $0.031day^{-1}$ and $0.004day^{-1}$, respectively. The decomposition rate coefficients measured in this study might be applicable for modeling of river water quality.
In this paper, a new temporal decomposition method is proposed. which takes into consideration not only spectral distortion but also bit rates. The interpolation functions, which are one of necessary parameters for temporal decomposition, are obtained from the training speech corpus. Since the interval between the two targets uniquely defines the interpolation function, the interpolation can be represented without additional information. The locations of the targets are determined by minimizing the bit rates while the maximum spectral distortion maintains below a given threshold. The proposed method has been applied to compressing the LSP coefficients which are widely used as a spectral parameter. The results of the simulation show that an average spectral distortion of about 1.4 dB can be achieved at an average bit rate of about 8 bits/Frame.
Losses in the dry weight of leaf litter from six tree species were studied during 16 months on the forest floor in temperate deciduous forest of Mt. Cheonma in the vicinity of Seoul in Korea by using litter bag method. The decomposition rate of each leaf litter varies with each species. After 16 months elapsed, the leaf litter of Acer pseudo-sieboidianum showed the highest decomposition constant (0.82) as Olson´s decomposition constant, while that of Pinus densiflora showed the lowest decomposition constant (0.33). The decomposition constant of Quercus mongolica, Q. serrata, Betula ermani and Carpinus laxiflora showed 0.43, 0.37, 0.66 and 0.75, respectively. The decomposition constant of leaf litter was considered with temperature and precipitation which accumulated daily during each term of litter bag collection. The decomposition constant of leaf litter showed closely positive correlation with daily accumulative temperature and precipitation. The relationships between decomposition constant and the daily accumulative temperature and precipitation at each period of litter bag collection were analyzed through multi-regression analysis. The correlation coefficients as a result of multi-regression analysis in Q. mongolica, Q. serrata, P densiflora, B. ermani, C. laxiflorais and A. pseudo-sieboldianum were 0.83, 0.81, 0.69, 0.77, 0.77 and 0.62, respectively. The precipitation showed higher effect, about 10 times, on the leaf litter decomposition than the daily accumulative temperature.
In this paper an algorithm is presented based on the additive Schwarz method for steady groundwater flow in a porous medium. The subproblems in the algorithm correspond to the problem on a coarse grid and some overlapping subdomains. It will be shown that the rate of convergence is independent of the mesh parameters and discontinuities of the coefficients, and depends on the overlap ratio.
Recognition of radar emitter signals is one of core elements in radar reconnaissance systems. A novel method based on singular value decomposition (SVD) and the main ridge slice of ambiguity function (AF) is presented for attaining a higher correct recognition rate of radar emitter signals in case of low signal-to-noise ratio. This method calculates the AF of the sorted signal and ascertains the main ridge slice envelope. To improve the recognition performance, SVD is employed to eliminate the influence of noise on the main ridge slice envelope. The rotation angle and symmetric Holder coefficients of the main ridge slice envelope are extracted as the elements of the feature vector. And kernel fuzzy c-means clustering is adopted to analyze the feature vector and classify different types of radar signals. Simulation results indicate that the feature vector extracted by the proposed method has satisfactory aggregation within class, separability between classes, and stability. Compared to existing methods, the proposed feature recognition method can achieve a higher correct recognition rate.

The kinetic coefficients far decomposition of the cured phenol resin (SC-1008) using a modified Arrhenius relationship have been determined from thermogavimetric analyses (TGA). The kinetic parameters were determined by multiple heating rate technique developed by Freideman and Henderson. Weight loss (decomposition) and weight loss rate (decomposition rate)were measured and recorded for three heating rates; $5^{\circ}C$/min ,$10^{\circ}C$/min, and $20^{\circ}C$/min. Relatively good agreement was obtained between measured and calculated decomposition as a function of temperature. By separating the reaction, the reaction order and pre exponential factor become empirical parameters which provide a "best fit" of the data. However, this method yields an extremely accurate reproduction of the thermograms over a wide range of heating rates. This is the desired result for kinetic parameters used in thermal models.al models.

In this paper, an efficient design of HEVC Adaptive Loop Filter(ALF) for filter coefficients estimation is proposed. The ALF performs Cholesky decomposition of $10{\times}10$ matrix iteratively to estimate filter coefficients. The Cholesky decomposition of the ALF consists of root and division operation which is difficult to implement in a hardware design because it needs to many computation rate and processing time due to floating-point unit operation of large values of the Maximum 30bit in a LCU($64{\times}64$). The proposed hardware architecture is implemented by designing a root operation based on Cholesky decomposition by using multiplexer, subtracter and comparator. In addition, The proposed hardware architecture of efficient and low computation rate is implemented by designing a pipeline architecture using characteristic operation steps of Cholesky decomposition. An implemented hardware is designed using Xilinx ISE 14.3 Vertex-6 XC6VCX240T FPGA device and can support a frame rate of 40 4K Ultra HD($4096{\times}2160$) frames per second at maximum operation frequency 150MHz.

The distribution of organic nitrogen and its decomposition rate were studied in the Youngsan River and the Sumjin River system in Korea. Samples were conducted seasonally in June, August, December of 2006, and February of 2007. Collected samples were incubated for 20 days in a dark chamber ($20{\pm}1^{\circ}C$) and analyzed the changes of nitrogen form (particulate organic nitrogen, dissolved organic nitrogen, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate). The mean total nitrogen (TN) concentration in the Youngsan River and the Sumjin River were $2.62mgN{\cdot}L^{-1}$ and $1.53mgN{\cdot}L^{-1}$, respectively. TN comprised of 65% DIN and 35% ON. The decomposition coefficients of organic nitrogen were also determined by two different fitting models. The decomposition rates of nitrogen species (TON, LPON, LDON, ${NH_4}^+$ and ${NO_2}^-$) ranged from 0.024 to $1.043day^{-1}$ in the Youngsan River and 0.008 to $0.693day^{-1}$ in the Sumjin River, respectively. The result of this study can give a guide to the selection of parameters in the calibration processes of water quality models.

We propose a new image coding method which takes into account both statistical redundancy and perceptual irrelevancy of the DCT coefficients so as to provide a high quality of the reconstructed images with a reduced transmission bit rate First, a block of DCT coefficients are decomposed into 16 subvectors so as for a subvector to convey key information about one of the low-pass or the dirctional filtered images. Then, the most significant subvector is selected as the principal edge of the block and then vector quantized. After that, the residuals of the block are computed and then sequentially quantized through aforementioned procedure until the quantization distortion is smaller than the target distortion. The proposed scheme is good at encoding images with a variety of transmission bit rates, especially at very low bit rate coding. In addition, it is another benifit of the proposed scheme that an image can be quantized with a wide range of the transmission bit rates by simply adapting the stopping criterion of the sequential vector quantizer according to the target distortion of the reconstructed image.
Recently efficient image coding algorithms using zerotree have been proposed. In these methods, the locations of nonzero wavelet coefficients are encoded with a tree structure, called zerotree, which can exploit the self-similarity of the wavelet pyramid decomposition across different scales. These are very effective, especially in low bit rate image coding. In this paper, two zerotree image coding algorithms, EZW and SPIHT, are briefly introduced, and a new zerotree searching scheme is proposed to emphasize the significance of a wavelet coefficient by its orientations as well as its scale.
