Construction of the Reliable Quick Response System of Chinese Fashion Distribution (중국 패션유통업의 신뢰성 있는 신속대응형 시스템 구축)

  • The most important thing in the garments enterprises is fast reaction. Expecially in the China has both many population and large territory, so each region of China, for instance, northeast, northwest, huanan, huabei, has various climate and considerably different temperature. As a result China garments enterprises require different clothes at the same time. This study build a reliable market-response process as a sub module of SCM that lay emphasis on production and sale cope with specific character of China. This process build a information chain including manufacture-planning, manufacture-ordering, production, arrivals of goods, distribution, sale, sale-evaluation, cross shipment, supplement shipment, and ordering popular goods and similar products. As a result of those, the focused points of this process are real time data gathering and various analysis of data, so it can be possible supporting more faster and more accurate market decision making system and our proposed goal is accomplishment of management profit.

Development of Web-Based VE Supporting System for Effective Workshop (효율적인 VE워크숍을 위한 웹기반 VE지원시스템 개발에 대한 기초연구)

  • Value Engineering methodology was introduced about 30years ago and has significant achievement in Korea. However, many of workshop still focus on cost down process and do not spend enough time on function analysis and expert cooperation. As a result, limited range of creative ideas were produced. To improve effectiveness of VE workshop, this study developed web-based value engineering process and system. And this study applied it to real case study to evaluate effectiveness of proposed system. Developed VE system also provides automated FAST diagram function and decision-making supporting tools. The authors found that this developed web-based VE system can significantly help to save cost and improve performance of VE workshop by using the appropriate VE process, and quick cooperation between experts. In addition, this study shows an example of a VE case study that applies the web-based VE system process, which led to a very innovative and effective way to lead workshop.

A Need-awaring Multi-agent Approach to Nomadic Community Computing for Ad Hoc Need Identification and Group Formation (유목커뮤니티 컴퓨팅에서 임의적 욕구파악과 그룹형성을 위한 욕구인지 다중에이전트 접근법)

  • Recently, community computing has been proposed for group formation and group decision-making. However, legacy community computing systems do not support group need identification for ad hoc group formation, which would be one of key features of ubiquitous decision support systems and services. Hence, this paper aims to provide a multi-agent based methodology to enable nomadic community computing which supports ad hoc need identification and group formation. Focusing on supporting group decision-making of relatively small sized multiple individual in a community, the methodology copes with the following three characteristics: (1) ad hoc group formation, (2) context-aware group need identification and (3) using mobile devices working in- and out-doors. NAMA-US, an RFID-based prototype system has been developed to show the feasibility of the idea proposed in this paper.

  • In this paper, we propose a new access control security architecture for supporting flexibility in Secure Operating Systems. By adding virtual access control system layer to the proposed security architecture, various access control models such as MAC, DAC, and RBAC can be applied to Secure Operating Systems easily. The proposed security architecture is designed to overcome the problem of Linux system's base access control system. A policy manager can compose various security models flexibly and apply them to Operating Systems dynamically. Also, the proposed architecture is composed of 3 modules such as access control enforcement, access control decision, and security control. And access control models are abstracted to hierarchy structure by virtual access control system. And, we present the notation of policy conflict and its resolution method by applying various access control model.

Development of a distributed hydrological model considering hydrological change

  • In recent decades, the dry stream phenomena of small and medium sized rivers have been attracting much attention as an important social problem. To prevent dry stream phenomena, it is necessary to build an infrastructure that manages rivers. To accurately determine the progress of dry stream phenomena, it is necessary to continuously measure the discharge and other hydrological factors for small and medium sized rivers. However, until now, the flow data for small and medium rivers in Korea has been insufficient. To overcome the lack of supporting data for supporting rational decision-making in policy and project implementation, a short- and long-term hydrological model was developed that takes into consideration hydrological changes such as the increase of the impervious area due to urban development and groundwater pumping, the construction of a large-scale sewage treatment plant, the maintenance of stream-oriented rivers, etc. In the developed model, the distributed grid is represented by three layers: Surface flow, interflow, and groundwater flow. The surface flow and intermediate flow flowed along the flow direction, and the groundwater flow was calculated by a two-dimensional groundwater analysis model such that the outflow occurred in all directions without a specific flow direction. The effects of land use and cover on evapotranspiration and infiltration and the effects of multiple landscapes can be simulated in the developed model.

A Quest of Design Principles of Cognitive Artifacts through Case Analysis in e-Learning: A Learner-Centered Perspective

  • Learners are often posited in a paradoxical situation where they are not fully involved in decision making processes on how to learn, in designing their tools. Cognitive artifacts in e-learning are supposed to effectively support learner-centered e-learning. The purpose of the study is to analyze cases of cognitive artifacts and to inquire those design principles for facilitating the learner-centered e-learning. Four research questions are suggested: First, it will be analyzed the characteristics of learners with respect to design of cognitive artifacts for supporting the learner-centered e-learning. Second, characteristics of four cases to design cognitive artifacts in learner-centered e-learning environment are analyzed. Third, it will be suggested the appropriate design principles of cognitive artifacts to facilitating learner-centered learning in e-learning environment. Four cases of cognitive artifacts design in learner-centered e-learning was identified as follows: Wiki software as cognitive artifacts in computer-supported collaborative learning; 'Play Around Network (PAN)' as cognitive artifact to monitor learning activities in knowledge community; Knowledge Forum System (KFS) as a cognitive artifact in knowledge building; cognitive artifacts in Courses-as-seeds applied meta-design. Five design principles are concluded as follows: Promoting externalization of cognitive artifacts to private media; Helping learners to initiate their learning processes; Encouraging learners to make connections with other learners' knowledge building and their cognitive artifacts; Promoting monitoring of participants' contributions in collaborative knowledge building; Supporting learners to design their cognitive artifacts.

Development of a decision support system for high quality NC data selection in mold manufacturing (고품질의 사출금형 NC 가공 데이터 선정을 위한 의사결정지원시스템 개발)

  • Mold industry has the difficulty to employ young people as the successors of the skilled workers, because it has been regarded as a 3D-jobs(dirty, difficult, and dangerous). To overcome this situation, thus, manufacturing technologies maintained in the factory should be systemized, and engineering systems should support unskilled workers to do their jobs without any difficulty. As a research of developing the supporting system, this study proposes a decision support system that facilitates unskilled workers to easily select high quality NC-data, as well as to increase productivity. The proposed system is assumed to follow a CAM operation scenario that consists of next three steps: 1) identifying several process plans and enumerating feasible unit machining operations (UMOs) from material and part surface information, 2) creating all feasible NC-data based on UMOs using a commercial CAM system, 3) selecting the best NC data among the feasible NC data using four screening criteria, such as machining accuracy, machining allowance, cutting load, and processing time. A case study on the machining of a camera core mold is provided to demonstrate the proposed system.

  • This paper is on 3D virtual reality simulator for terminal in connection with terminal operation system in real terminal in order to reflex complicated terminal operation and environment. This simulator has been developed based on knowledge of terminal planning and operation analysis and advanced software technologies that TSB has accumulated over 10 years. In this study, the simulator generates terminal layout and component of terminal in the same environments as the real terminal in Ohi, Japan and uses real operation system using real planning data in the past in order to describe 3D VR simulation that integrates container handling equipment and real time communication of job ordering. In addition, it is suggested various statistics and analysis report can be used to derive decision supporting factors that optimize design of terminal and improve operation, which will eventually increase terminal productivity.

  • CTQ's choice is an important process for quality improvement. It is difficult to get customer satisfaction if CTQ is not chosen properly in view of improvement effort. However, case study or research about the supporting method for CTQ choice is not yet fully accomplished. In this paper, we propose an effective method for CTQ choice considering customer requirement through QFD as well as safety by using AHP which is one of strategic decision-making techniques for product safety. Also we show an empirical study on its application to the auto test robot system of mobile phone development.

Quantitative measures of thoroughness of FBD simulations for PLC-based digital I&C system

  • Simulation is a widely used functional verification method for FBD programs of PLC-based digital I&C system in nuclear power plants. It is difficult, however, to estimate the thoroughness (i.e., effectiveness or quality) of a simulation in the absence of any clear measure for the estimation. This paper proposes two sets of structural coverage adequacy criteria for the FBD simulation, toggle coverage and modified condition/decision coverage, which can estimate the thoroughness of simulation scenarios for FBD programs, as recommended by international standards for functional safety. We developed two supporting tools to generate numerous simulation scenarios and to measure automatically the coverages of the scenarios. The results of our experiment on five FBD programs demonstrated that the measures and tools can help software engineers estimate the thoroughness and improve the simulation scenarios quantitatively.
