Influence of Word of Mouse and Consumers Attitudes on Consumers' Decision-Making in E-Commerce

  • Purpose: Prior studies rarely investigated the effects of the Word of Mouse (WoM) information on consumers' motivation and willingness to purchase a product. Furthermore, few scholars have studied how word-of-mouth information works and they fail to find consistent results. Research design, data and methodology: This study uses a multivariate regression model to investigate the influence of WoM on consumer attitudes and consumer decision-making. It categorizes the quality of WoM into source level and acceptance level, to analyze its influence from a new perspective. A total of 400 surveys were completed, resulting in 336 usable questionnaires for analysis. It was collected in 14 cities from all regions in China. This study constructs a theoretical model of WoM influence on consumers' purchase willingness based on a systematic review of the related literature on WoM quality, perceived value, customer trust, and consumers' purchase willingness. Results: Empirical results reveal that the Internet WoM (consumer's source level and acceptance level) indirectly affects consumer behavior by influencing consumer attitudes. Conclusions: This study provides practical significance and value for merchants to develop better WoM marketing and to establish the reliability of WoM websites. Companies should consider online WoM from the perspective of consumers, thereby improving existing marketing strategies.

온라인 의류 소비자들의 쇼핑동기, 정보원 사용과 의사결정 유형 (Purchase Motives, Use of Information Sources, and Decision Making Styles of Online Clothing Shoppers)

  • 본 연구는 온라인 쇼핑동기, 정보원의 사용, 의사결정 유형의 관계 분석을 통해, 소비자들에게 적합한 정보를 제공할 수 있는 전략을 제공하고자 하는 목적을 가지고 수행되었다. 실증적 연구결과 소비자의 쇼핑동기는 편의적 동기, 제품특성적 동기, 쾌락적 동기, 경제적 동기로 구분되었다. 본 연구에서 정보원은 이전 연구들과는 달리 쇼핑몰에 관한 정보원과 상품에 관한 정보원, 두 가지 종류로 구분하였다. 온라인 쇼핑몰에 관한 정보원은 중립적 정보원, 인적 정보원, 마케터 주도적 정보원으로 구분된 반면, 상품에 관한 정보원은 온라인 정보원, 오프라인 정보원으로 구분되었다. 이처럼 쇼핑몰에 관한 정보원과 상품에 관한 정보원은 차이를 보였으며, 정보원의 사용, 쇼핑동기, 의사결정 유형 각각의 관계도 알아 보았다. 결론을 바탕으로 온라인상의 의류 판매자가 소비자들을 그들의 쇼핑몰로 이끌고, 구매를 유도하도록 마케팅 전략을 제안하였다.

앱스토어 구매자의 혁신성과 앱의 속성에 따른 정보탐색 성과에 관한 연구 (Study on the Performance of Information Search Process in term of Attributes of Apps in Appstore and Buyer's Innovativeness)

  • 본 논문은 앱스토어 유료앱 구매자를 대상으로 구매자의 혁신성과 앱의 속성에 따라 정보탐색노력과 정보원천, 정보의존도의 차이를 알아보고 앱 구매의사결정 지원에 미치는 영향을 연구하였다. 연구 결과, 혁신적인 구매자는 적극적으로 다양한 정보원천을 탐색하여 구매의사결정지원에 도움을 얻지만 해당 정보보다 자신이 직접 앱스토어 검색을 통한 정보를 신뢰하는 신중한 정보탐색과정을 수행한다. 반면에 비혁신적인 구매자는 소극적인 정보탐색노력 이지만 지인추천, 어플추천, 언론 정보 등 타인에 의해 검증된 정보만을 신뢰하는 추종적인 정보탐색행위를 수행한다. 또한 유용한 앱 구매자는 쉽게 찾을 수 있고 객관적인 정보 원천을 탐색 및 신뢰하는 실용적이고 합리적인 정보탐색행위를 수행한다. 반면에 유희적인 앱 구매자는 정보탐색노력에서는 추종적이지만 대중성과 인기도 등 감성적으로 공감할 수 있는 정보원천을 신뢰하고 구매의사결정에 도움을 얻는다. 본 연구를 통해서 앱의 속성과 구매자의 혁신성에 따라 정보탐색노력과 정보원천, 정보의존도의 차이점을 알아보고 나아가 구매의사결정 지원에 미치는 영향을 통해서 앱스토어 운영자와 앱 제작사에게 앱에 대한 홍보에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 한다.

성인 학습자를 위한 평생교육으로서 패션 교육 (Fashion education as a lifelong education program for adult learners)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify adult learners' decision making variables, satisfaction, and evaluation toward fashion education as a university lifelong education program. As decision making variables, this study included participation purpose, information source, and selection criteria for lifelong education center and program. Regarding satisfaction toward fashion education, this study included satisfaction toward program and satisfaction toward education condition and administrative services. Data were gathered by both questionnaires and focus group interview(FGI) with 12 adults who completed the program. While questionnaires were used for decision making variables and satisfaction, FGI was used for evaluation. Frequency was used to analyze the questionnaires and content analysis was used to analyze the results of FGI. The findings showed that respondents participated mostly because of hobby or interest and got information mostly from acquaintances. They regarded program contents as the selection criteria for lifelong education center. They also regarded lecturers' professionality as the selection criteria for the program and showed high satisfaction toward lecturers' passion. Regarding education condition and administrative services, they showed high satisfaction. FGI also showed the importance of individual competence, career development, a work-study program, a on-site study program, and lecturer. The results suggest methods to make university lifelong education programs more appealing to adults who want to attend universities for non-degree university programs.

Survey of Artificial Intelligence Approaches in Cognitive Radio Networks

  • This paper presents a comprehensive survey of various artificial intelligence (AI) techniques implemented in cognitive radio engine to improve cognition capability in cognitive radio networks (CRNs). AI enables systems to solve problems by emulating human biological processes such as learning, reasoning, decision making, self-adaptation, self-organization, and self-stability. The use of AI techniques is studied in applications related to the major tasks of cognitive radio including spectrum sensing, spectrum sharing, spectrum mobility, and decision making regarding dynamic spectrum access, resource allocation, parameter adaptation, and optimization problem. The aim is to provide a single source as a survey paper to help researchers better understand the various implementations of AI approaches to different cognitive radio designs, as well as to refer interested readers to the recent AI research works done in CRNs.

청년기 남성의 의복구매 및 사용시 정보원 활용과 불만족요인에 관한 연구 (A study on the use of Information Source and the Consumer Dissatisfaction in the Purchase and Use of Clothing of Young men)

  • The purpose of this study is to explore the use of fashion information source and the consumer dissatisfaction factors in the purchase and use of clothing, and to explain the relationships between the use of fashion information source and the consumer dissatisfaction factors of young man. For the study, data were collected from 254 freshman, 258 male seniors, and 229 unmarried male workers using the questionaire method. The data from 741 respondents were analyzed by Pearson's Product-moment coefficient corrleation, ANOVA, T-TEST, and Scheff Test. The results of the study are as follows : 1. There were significant differences in the use of information source such as. 1) according to the group, the impersonal advocate source, and the impersonal independent source. 2) according to the job, the impersonal advocate source. 2. There were significant differences in the consumer dissstisfaction factor such as. 1) according to the group, the "product assortment" related factor. 2) According to the job, the "quality" related factor. 3. There were partly significant relationships between the use of information source and consumer dissatisfaction factor. 1) In the young men, the use of the impersonal advocate source, impersonal independent source, personal independent source, and observation had correlated with the dissatisfaction factor related to "purchase-decision making".

신선식품 유통 사이트에서 제품 정보품질과 정보원천 신뢰성이 제품환기에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Effect of Information Quality and Source Credibility on Product Arousal in Fresh Food Website)

  • This study aims to analyze the effect of product information quality and source credibility on product arousal in fresh food website. Despite fresh food websites are selling products with various feature, prior studies have focused on consumer behavior for fresh food website characteristics or specific products without considering the feature of the products. Consumers' attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors vary depending on the feature of the product. In other words, depending on the category of product, the decision making process that consumers purchase products can be differ. So, we classify products considering the feature of these products to examine the effect of information quality and source credibility on product arousal into experience goods and search goods. We surveyed 288 consumers having experience of purchase in fresh food website and verified the hypothesis through One-way ANOVA by classifying the information quality and the source credibility as high level and low level. As a result, there was a difference in product arousal according to the product information quality level and the source credibility level for each product category exposed to the fresh food website. In experience goods, source credibility have a more important effect on product arousal than product information quality, and in search goods, product information quality have a more important effect on product arousal than source credibility.

  • 정보통신 기술의 발달로 인해 커뮤니케이션 환경이 급격하게 변화하고 있다. 그러한 변화 중 하나로 아바타가 인터넷상에서 새로운 커뮤니케이션 수단으로 대두되고 있으며, 디지털 콘텐츠의 수익모델로서도 중요한 위치를 차지하고 있다. 이에 따라 인터넷 커뮤니티 내에 서 아바타 사용자는 급격히 증가하고 있지만, 사용자들이 아바타를 선택할 때 어떻게 의사결정을 하는 지에 대한 연구는 거의 이루어지지 않고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 아바타 사용자들의 행동을 근거로 의사결정 모델을 구축하여 아바타의 디자인 개발에 활용할 수 있도록 하는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 연구에서는 아바타 사용자의 의사결정에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인과 과정을 조사, 분석하고, 사용 목적에 따라 의사결정 요인들과 정보탐색의 특성이 어떻게 달라지는지에 대해 고찰하였다. 이를 토대로 목적적 모델과 인지적 모델을 구축하고 각 모델의 프로토타입을 제작하였다. 끝으로 모델별로 디자인 가이드라인을 제시하였다.

  • Over the last several decades, the topic of the source selection and evaluation has gained a great attention in the information systems community as an effective tool to acquire information systems in an organization. The source selection and evaluation process is a multiple-criteria decision-making problem associated with several evaluation issues. In this case study, evaluation issues include management, technologies, logistics, and cost. This case study was conducted to compare a new source selection and evaluation process by using the analytic hierarchy process with the traditional approach. This study provides useful insight about how to apply the analytic hierarchy process technique to the traditional approach.

AHP를 이용한 아웃소싱 의사결정모형 (- A Decision Model for Outsourcing Using AHP -)

  • Information systems(IS) outsourcing has become a very important management strategy of implementing IS and many studies on the IS outsourcing approach had been performed in the organizations. But it isn't still show how to out source the IS functions and how to offer quantitative magnitude for judgement. To offer a quantitative decision model that can help practitioners set priority and reap the most benefits from outsourcing, we show outsourcing structure including 3 factors (strategic, economic and technological benefit) and sub-levels which is different from the Yang and Huang's model. Also, we compute the weight of alternatives using analytic hierarchy process to find a priority of the IS outsourcing. As a result of analysis, we suggest systematic steps and quantitative model to increase the precision of decision making. 1)
