This study tested the effect of de-NOx Facility operating condition on Nox emisiion in a 125 MW wood pellet power plant in Yeongdong Eco Power Plant Unit 1, which is in operation. As SNCR urea flow rate increased, NOx emission gradually decreased, but ammonia slip after SCR increased. The boiler under test has a structure that is unfavorable to SNCR operation due to the high internal temperature, and the optimum location of the nozzle will be required. SCR dilution air temperature change did not affect the amount of NOx generated. Increasing SCR ammonia flow reduced the NOx emission at SCR outlet and also increased the NOx removal efficiency. However, the ammonia flow rate of 111 kg/h, which does not exceed the ammonia slip its own reference limit, is estimated to be the maximum operating standard. The increase in SCR mixer pressure reduced NOx emission and the removal efficiency was also measured to be the most effective variable to inhibit NOx production.

In the paper, an approach to the development of the selective catalytic reduction process of NOx is presented. The reduction process can be efficiently controlled using a conventional combination of feed-forward and feed-back control structures. The aim of this paper is to test and verify an approach to the SCR process which is based on an industrial pilot plant of combustion and nitric oxide formation. The systems are based on measurements of a NOx removal ratio and the fuel flow rate, and NH$_3$slip which are usually available as a part of de-NOx control system.

De-NOx facility using Selective Catalytic Reduction method is the most widely applied one that removes NOx from flue gas emitted from combustion facility such as boiler for power generation engine incinerator etc. Reductant $NH_3\;or\;NH_4OH$ is sprayed into flue gas to convert NOx into $H_2O$ and $N_2.$ Good mixing between flue gas and $NH_3$ is the most important factor to increase reduction in catalytic layer and to reduce unreacted NH3 slip. Therefore the development of mixer device for mixing effect is one of the important part for SCR facility. Objectives of this study are to investigate the relation between flow and concentration field by observation at the wake of delta-wing type mixer. At the first stage qualitative measurement of flow field is conducted by flow visualization using laser light sheet in lab. scale wind tunnel. Also we have conducted the quantitative analysis by comparing flow field measurement using LDV with numerical simulation. On the basis of qualitative and quantitative analysis we investigate the dis-tribution of flow and concentration in flow model facility. The results of an experimental and compu-tational examination of the vortex structures shed from delta wing type vortex generator having $40^{\circ}$ angle of attack are presented, The effects of vortex structure on the gas mixing is discussed, too.
This paper presents a new developed 160kV-120kW Class MPC (magnetic pulse compressor) power supply for DeNOx, DeSOx system. The circuit consists of N-series connected CCPS (capacitor charging power supply) and MPC Tank. The MPC power supply developed compared to the conventional LC resonant type has many advantage, it was verified reliability of a product by module, simulator and tank connection test. Now, the developed MPC power supply is installed POSCO sintering plant for DeSOx, DeNOx system.
With the recent reinforcement of emission standards, it is necessary to make efforts to reduce NOx from air pollutant-emitting workplaces. The NOx reduction method mainly used in industrial facilities is selective catalytic reduction (SCR), and the most commercial SCR catalyst is the ceramic honeycomb catalyst. This study was carried out to reduce the NOx emitted from steel plants by applying De-NOx catalyst coated on metallic monolith. The De-NOx catalyst was synthesized through the optimized coating technique, and the coated catalyst was uniformly and strongly adhered onto the surface of the metallic monolith according to the air jet erosion and bending test. Due to the good thermal conductivity of metallic monolith, the De-NOx catalyst coated on metallic monolith showed good De-NOx efficiency at low temperatures (200 ~ 250 ℃). In addition, the optimal amount of catalyst coating on the metallic monolith surface was confirmed for the design of an economical catalyst. Based on these results, the De-NOx catalyst of commercial grade size was tested in a semi-pilot De-NOx performance facility under a simulated gas similar to the exhaust gas emitted from a steel plant. Even at a low temperature (200 ℃), it showed excellent performance satisfying the emission standard (less than 60 ppm). Therefore, the De-NOx catalyst coated metallic monolith has good physical and chemical properties and showed a good De-NOx efficiency even with the minimum amount of catalyst. Additionally, it was possible to compact and downsize the SCR reactor through the application of a high-density cell. Therefore, we suggest that the proposed De-NOx catalyst coated metallic monolith may be a good alternative De-NOx catalyst for industrial uses such as steel plants, thermal power plants, incineration plants ships, and construction machinery.
The government has recently come up with a policy to tighten regulations on air pollutant emissions due to public concerns over the emission of pollutants such as fine dust. The coal-fired power plant is speeding up the improvement of the performance of environmental facilities, and this paper deals with the cases of performance improvement by adding a catalyst to the 500 MW standard coal-fired power DeNox system, and examines the change in the performance factors according to the addition of catalysts and the efficiency of NOx removal. The DeNOx efficiency before and after improvement increased from 80% to 88%, and the conversion rate of SO2/SO3, ammonia slip which are performance factors satisfied the design assurance value, but exceeded the design assurance value for differential pressure. At the same time, the ammonia slip concentration and differential pressure items increased as the NOx removal efficiency increased, resulting in the need for management and improvement.
In this study, ammonia consumption by gas turbine output was adjusted to find out the amount of ammonia consumption that complies with the enhanced Air Quality Preservation Act and internal regulation emission standards in SCR type DeNOx System for a 580 MW Sejong Combined Cycle Power Plant. For measurements, the gas turbine output was varied to 50, 99, 149, 198 MW and ammonia consumption was adjusted with the combustion gas and ammonia supply conditions fixed at each stage. When the emission limit were change from 10 ppm to 8 ppm, ammonia consumption was increased from 78, 93, 105, 133 kg/h to 89, 113, 132, 176 kg/h. The increase rate of ammonia consumption was 14, 22, 26, 32% per output category compared to the 10 ppm emission limit, which was shown to increase as output increased.
As the emission limits for NOx in power generation facilities were strengthened, HRSGs installed in the 1990s became necessary to install additional DeNOx system. However, since there is no space in the HRSG for installing the entire the catalyst and ammonia injection grid, as an alternative, the catalyst was installed inside of the HRSG and the ammonia injection device was installed in the exhaust duct of the gas turbine. Experiments were conducted in horizontal HRSG of Incheon combined cycle power plant. Experimental results show that the ammonia injection method in the gas turbine exhaust duct is 1.2 times higher than the HRSG internal ammonia injection method. However when operating a HRSG for 30 years as its life span, ammonia injection method in the gas turbine exhaust duct is more economical than the cost of new HRSG construction.

A Study on the optimal design of the AIG(Ammonia Injection Grid) to improve the performance of DeNOx facilities in the HRSG(Heat Recovery Steam Generator) was performed using the CFD analysis. On the basis of the flow analysis results in the case that the AIG in the HRSG was not installed, the numerical analyses according to the positions of AIG, injection angles of nozzle and the control of ammonia injection quantity were carried out. The standard deviation according to factors was calculated for quantitative comparison. As the results, the AIG in the HRSG should be installed in the position that the uniform flow field shows through the exact flow analysis in the previous of the AIG design and installation. In the case the AIG has already been installed and non uniform flow distribution shows, it is recommended that flow correction device or KoNOx catalyst should be used. Otherwise, the control of ammonia injection angle or the ammonia injection quantity using the velocity profile analysis is demanded to accomplish the optimal performance.
High temperature furnace such as Steam power plant and incinerator contribute considerable part of NOx generation and face urgent demand of De-NOx system. Reducing agents are necessary to use De-NOx system. In this study mixing caused by direct injection of reducing agent solution spray into flue gas duct was measured. Carbonated water was used as tracer and simulated agent because ammonia as a reducing agent is not proper to experiment. Mixing and evaporation must occur simultaneously and quickly enough to achieve desirable efficiency. To achieve that, the angle of attack of static mixer and the location is simulated and $CO_2$ concentration is measured.
