The QOS(Quality of Service) recognized by the customer will become the most important thing under the competitive telecommunications market. Korea Telecom is going to develop many system to manage the telecommunication network, to improve the level of QOS, and to increase the revenue. Operation and Maintenance Adiministration System is one of the systems developed to meet those purposes efficiently. This system gathers qualities data from telephone offices or operation centers and analyze the results of QOS improvement activities and evaluate overall QOS. And also system makes it possible to improve the cost/effectiveness of operation and maintenance of telecommunication network. Operation and Maintenance Administration System has four functional modules, i.e., the user interface module, the database management module, the QOS management module, and the database conversion module. The purpose of this study is to develop the QOS management program, one of the four functional modules of the system,using FOCUS 4GL/DBMS. Since Operation and Maintenance Administration System is developed using FOCUS 4GL, every user can handle and maintain the system very easily and reduce system backlogs.

GIS(Geographic Information System; 지리정보시스템)를 이용한 폐광지역의 지반침하 분석에 있어 효율적인 데이터베이스 구축 및 DBMS(Database Management System; 데이터베이스 관리시스템)의 이용이 요구된다. 이를 위해 폐광지역의 지반침하 분석에 있어 효율적인 분석이 가능하도록 그에 적합한 데이터 구조와 분석방법을 모색하였다. 지반침하 관리시 요구되는 갱도위치, 지하수위, 침하 실측치, 침하 균열 등과 같은 공간 정보에 대한 적합한 모델을 설정하고 데이터베이스를 구축하였다.

모바일 단말에서의 맵 데이터 활용 서비스는 내비게이션, 위치기반서비스 등 그 활용 범위가 다양해지고 있다. 이러한 모바일 단말에서 저장/관리되는 맵 데이터의 크기는 갈수록 커져 수 GB에 이른다. 기존 내비게이션 시스템의 경우, 리소스 제약으로 인해 모바일 단말의 성능을 최대로 활용하기 위하여 맵 데이터를 읽기 최적화된 물리적인 저장형식(PSF: Physical Storage Format)으로 저장 관리하고 있다. 즉, 맵 데이터가 변경된 경우 변경된 부분만의 업데이트가 불가능하여 전체 데이터를 업데이트해야 하는 단점이 있다. 일반적으로 2 GB 데이터를 모바일 단말의 플래시메모리에 기록하는 시간은 수십 분이 소요된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 기존의 내비게이션용 맵 데이터의 부분 업데이트가 불가능한 점을 해결하고자 모바일 공간 DBMS을 개발하였다. 그리고, 모바일 공간 DBMS에서의 내비게이션 서비스의 성능을 보장하기 위한 기법을 제시하고 실험을 통하여 이를 검증하였다.

This study attempts at building an integrated GIS computing framework for evaluating space-time accessibility of an individual with the approach of time geography model. The proposed method is based on the integration of mobile GIS and object-relational spatio-temporal database. Three components are central to our system: ( i ) mobile GIS application that transmits spatio-temporal trajectory data of an individual; ( ii ) spatio-temporal database server that incorporates the time geography model; and (iii) geovisualization client that provides time geographic queries to the spatio-temporal database. As for the mobile GIS application, spatio-temporal trajectory data collected by GPS-PDA client is automatically transmitted to the database server through mobile data management middleware. The spatio-temporal database server implemented by extending a generic DBMS provides spatio-temporal objects, functions and query languages. The geovisualization client illustrates 3D visual results of the queries about space-time path. space-time prism and space-time accessibility. This study shows a method of integrating mobile GIS and DBMS for time geography application, and presents an appropriate spatio-temporal data model for evaluating space-time accessibility of an individual.

This study deals with the schemes of design, plan and operate maintenance management support systems and with the engineering approach for the solutions to build the maintenance management for the production efficiency. Maintenance Management Information System(MMIS) is the task that must focus on machinery historical data and planned maintenance action. Also the efficient supporting system in a maintenance management is achieved by database which is based on process of machinery's failure history. Designing method of maintenance management information system, maintenance modules are consisted of six factors ; machinery's historical data, lubrication control, check sheet, repair work, availability report, and performance report(control board and detailed reports), and then operators can rapidly utilize data in work place. In the implementation of designed model, program coding has been developed by Visual Basic 3.0. Data insertion, deletion and updating which perform menu screen is implemented by reading data from database. Implementation model based on LAN environment and related data is stored in Microsoft DBMS.

최근 정보의 디지털화와 휴대용 정보기기의 보편화로 휴대용 정보기기가 업무처리의 중요한 수단이 되었고 처리해야하는 정보의 양 또한 증가하고 있다. 이러한 휴대용 정보기기에서 무수한 디지털 정보를 효과적으로 처리하기 위해 휴대용 정보기기에 적합한 모바일 DBMS의 사용이 요구된다. 또한 휴대용 정보기기에서 데이터 저장장치로서 보편적으로 사용되는 플래시 메모리는 기존의 하드디스크에 비해 저장 비용이 높아 데이터 저장에 있어 공간적 제약을 받으며, 데이터 I/O에 따른 수명을 가짐으로서 사용성에 제약을 받는다. 이러한 이유로 플래시 메모리를 저장매체로 사용하는 DBMS가 보편적으로 사용할 수 있는 압축 데이터 관리 시스템이 연구되고 있다. 하지만 압축 데이터 관리 시스템의 연구는 초기 단계이며 몇 가지 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 압축 데이터 관리 시스템의 문제점을 해결하고, 추가적인 관리방식을 제안하여 새로운 압축 데이터 관리 시스템을 제안한다.

Generally, elements of DRM(Digital Road Map) consist of road, background and landmark data. The landmark, expressed as text and symbol, on map and additional search data are processed by GISSD(Geo-spatial Information System Service Data). This paper aims to develop the DBMS(Database Management System) for operating landmark and search data, and to discuss the characteristics and application of the DBMS. To accomplish the two objectives, the following four tasks were performed in this study. First, the working scopes of field survey and specification to construct the GISSD were defined. Second, the suggested process of manufacture and design of database were described. Third, the software for required construction and management of the system were developed. Lastly, the properties of developed system and data were analyzed. Especially, the efforts for the GISSD in this study are expected to provide a direct use and practical application to the creation of landmark in DRM and search data.

객체관계형 데이터베이스 시스템(objet-relational database management system: ORDBMS)은 멀티미디어 데이터베이스, 지리정보 시스템(geographical information system), CAD/CAM 공학 데이터베이스 등 새로운 응용 분야에 적합한 차세대 데이터베이스 시스템이다. 본 논문에서는 한국과학기술원 첨단정보기술연구센터에서 개발해 오고 있는 오디세우스 객체관계형 멀티미디어 DBMS의 아키텍쳐와 오디세우스의 확장 버전들에 대해서 설명한다. 오디세우스는 다양한 멀티미디어 응용들을 빠르게 지원하기 위해서 엔진 수준에서 필요한 프리미티브를 구현하는 밀결합 아키텍쳐를 채택하고 있다. 현재 밀결합 아키텍쳐로 이미 구현됐거나 개발중인 시스템으로는 텍스트 정보 검색 기능을 밀결합한 정보검색용 DBMS의 오디세우스/IR과 공간 정보 검색 기능을 밀결합한 GIS용 DBMS인 오디세우스/Geo가 있으며, 다양한 멀티미디어 엔진 프리미티브들을 추가적으로 개발중이다. 특히 오디세우스/IR은 성공적으로 실용화되어 현재 여러 사이트에서 사용되고 있으며 이는 오디세우스/IR 아키텍쳐의 우수성을 간접적으로 증명하는 실례들이다. 또한 최근에는 사용자가 쉽게 고성능의 웹 DBMS 응용 프로그램을 작성하도록 도와주는 웹과 DBMS 연동 도구를 개발하였다. 본 논문에서는 이들 시스템에 대한 특징들을 소개하고자 한다.

It is necessary for the park tree manager to have the current information about the status of trees, which can help him with right decisions. However, there are many problems in the existing management method such as huge amount of data, tedious work, and the difficult update work due to the lack of necessary data or the inappropriate data record and management method. The sole use of database management system(DBMS) cannot slove these problems because it cannot handle graphic data based on the locational information. So, it is imperative for the park manager to have locational data as well as attribute data of the park tree concerned. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to develop the personal computer-based, user friendly park tree management information system, which deals with attribute data(DBMS) and graphic data(using the CAD) together within the integrated environment. The park tree management information system developed in this study provides a complete operating environment for data input, update, query, delete, and retrieve. The major advantages of this system are as follows: 1) To search the location and distribution of trees. 2) To record, store, and manage data easily. 3) When the manager is changed, delivery of the park tree work is convenient. 4) The system can help the manager with the correct information for the efficient park tree management.

The limited literature on Open Source Software (OSS) customers' adoption does not provide explanations on how OSS services are adopted by customers in the presence of functionally superior commercially licensed software (CLS). This paper aims to uncover the process that shapes customer satisfaction of OSS services in comparison to CLS. Expectation Disconfirmation Theory (EDT) is adapted and integrated with pre implementation factor model that influences software customers' expectations including cost, reputation, and experience. The constructed research model is empirically validated using a field survey of OSS and CLS database management system (DBMS) customers in Korea. The theoretical contribution of the paper lies on the application of EDT to explain the wide adoption of OSS DBMS services in the presence of functionally superior CLS DBMSs. Furthermore, this paper integrates EDT with pre-implementation factors for customers' expectations, which has been considered a limitation of the theory. Among the practical contributions, this study draws attention to the substantive differences between OSS and CLS customers' expectations. Additionally, it offers initial explanations for the differences in customer behavior for OSS and CLS and the way that customers' expectations and actual performance are mingled together to form customer satisfaction.
