이기종 시스템에서 다층 구조를 통한 DBMS 대용량 데이터 로딩의 분석 및 평가 (Analysis and Evaluation of DBMS Bulk Data Loading Through Multi-tiered Architecture for Heterogeneous Systems)

  • 여러 과정을 통해 만들어진 수많은 데이터는 효율적으로 관리되기 위해서 DBMS의 도움이 절대적으로 필요하다. 네트워크 내부 또는 외부에서 오는 이러한 데이터는 실시간 또는 일괄적으로 데이터베이스에 삽입(insertion)이 된다. 다량의 데이터 삽입은 흔히 개별적인 DBMS에서 지원하는 특정 대용량 로딩 또는 삽입기능을 통해 수행된다. 본 논문에서는 다층 구조로 구성되어 있는 이기종 시스템의 대용량 데이터 로딩을 분석하고 평가하며 프로그램 삽입에서의 DBMS 대용량 로더의 결과와 비교한다. 또한 대용량 로딩의 성능을 쉽게 향상 시킬 수 있는 staging 데이터베이스를 사용한 하이브리드 방법을 제안한다.

  • The growth of using smartphone and tablet pc has enabled variety kinds of realtime applications. In these applications, the data which we called data stream is multidimensional, continuous, rapid, and time-varying. However the traditional Database Management System (DBMS) suffers from processing the real time and complex application, in this paper we proposed the framework for CCR Data Stream Server's design and implementation that compiled with Data Stream Database Management System (DSMS) and DBMS in EMR system. The system enables users not only to query stored CCR information from DBMS, but also to execute continues query for the real-time CCR Data Stream.

GOMS: Large-scale ontology management system using graph databases

  • Large-scale ontology management is one of the main issues when using ontology data practically. Although many approaches have been proposed in relational database management systems (RDBMSs) or object-oriented DBMSs (OODBMSs) to develop large-scale ontology management systems, they have several limitations because ontology data structures are intrinsically different from traditional data structures in RDBMSs or OODBMSs. In addition, users have difficulty using ontology data because many terminologies (ontology nodes) in large-scale ontology data match with a given string keyword. Therefore, in this study, we propose a (graph database-based ontology management system (GOMS) to efficiently manage large-scale ontology data. GOMS uses a graph DBMS and provides new query templates to help users find key concepts or instances. Furthermore, to run queries with multiple joins and path conditions efficiently, we propose GOMS encoding as a filtering tool and develop hash-based join processing algorithms in the graph DBMS. Finally, we experimentally show that GOMS can process various types of queries efficiently.

일개 간호대학 학생의 학습성과 평가관리를 위한 웹 기반 학습성과 관리시스템 (The development of a web-based database system for managing program learning outcomes in a nursing school)

  • 본 연구는 성과기반 교육의 핵심인 효율적인 학습성과 평가 관리를 위해 웹 기반 학습성과 관리시스템을 개발하기 위해 시행되었다. 이에 시스템 개발 생명 주기(System Development Life Cycle)모델에 근거하여 분석-설계-구현-평가의 과정에 따라 사용자의 요구를 분석하여 컨텐츠와 시스템을 구성하고 설계하여 관리시스템을 개발하였으며, 시스템 구현 후 사용자의 만족도를 분석하였다. 개발된 시스템을 통해 졸업 시점에 이른 학생들의 학습성과 평가결과를 학습성과 별, 학생 개인별로 달성목표가 성취되었는지를 한 눈에 모니터 할 수 있게 되었다. 이를 통해 일정한 목표수준에 도달하지 못한 학습성과 항목 및 학생들의 원인 분석과 필요한 개선방안을 모색할 수 있게 됨으로써 효율적인 학습성과 평가관리가 가능하게 되었다.

물관리자동화시스템을 위한 개방형 운영 프로그램 개발 (Development of Open Water Management Program(OWMP) for Water Management Automation System with Open Architecture)

  • As a result of the recent water resources crisis, development of water management automation system becomes important. This system should be developed with open architecture in order to flexibly meet the spacial and time change of irrigation water demand. Thereby, water management automation system requires open architecture and suitable software program. This study presents an application of object-oriented methodology for Open Water Management Program(OWMP). Accordingly, OWMP provides a high degree of reliability which allows modification of parameters by change of region or time to be possible. OWMP consists of Data Base Management System(DBMS) and Model System. DBMS makes it possible to analyze data related with planning water schedule and establishing database. Model System calculates reservoir inflow, reservoir effluent and basin water demand. An operator decides the reservoir operation with results of Model System and DBMS. OWMP could be adapted to the planning and decision for saving water.

Incentive-Compatible Priority Pricing and Transfer Analysis in Database Services

  • A primary concern of physical database design has been efficient retrieval and update of a record because predictable performance of a DBMS is indispensable to time-critical missions. To maintain such phenomenal performance, database manages often spends more than or as much as the goal of an organization can warrant. The motivation of this research stems from the fact that even predictable performance of a physical database can be hampered by stochastic query processing time, physical configurations of a database, and random arrival processes of queries. They all together affect the overall performance of a DBMS. In particular, if there are queuing delays due to limited capacity or during on-peak congestion, this paper suggest to prioritize database services. A surprising finding of this paper is that such a transition from a non-priority system to a corresponding priority-based system can be Pareto-improving in the sense that no users in the system will be worse off after the transition. Thus prioritizing database services can be a viable option for efficient database management.

  • Miniaturization of computing devices, and advances in wireless communication and positioning systems will create a wide and increasing range of database applications such as location-based services, tracking and transportation systems that has to deal with Moving Objects. Various types of queries could be posted to moving objects, including past, present and future queries. The key problem is how to model the location of moving objects and enable Database Management System (DBMS) to predict the future location of a moving object. It is obvious that there is a need for an innovative, generic, conceptually clean and application-independent approach for spatio-temporal handling data. This paper presents behavioral aspect of the spatio-temporal databases for managing and querying moving objects. Our objective is to impelement and extend the Spatial TAU (STAU) system developed by Dr.Pelekis that provides spatio-temporal functionality to an Object-Relational Database Management System to support modeling and querying moving objecs. The results of the impelementation are demonstrated in this paper.

  • 정보서비스 관점에서 대규모 정보 서비스 시스템을 개발하기 가장 좋은 방법중의 하나가 웹의 서비스 능력과 데이터베이스 관리시스템의 유용한 기능을 상호 보완적 측면에서 통합하는 것이다. 웹과 데이터베이스 관리시스템 통합의 핵심 요소가 웹-DBMS 통로이다. 웹-DBMS 통로는 데이터베이스 관리시스템에 대한 요청을 웹의 기술을 이용하여 데이터베이스 관리시스템에 접근하고, 데이터베이스 관리시스템의 처리 결과를 웹서버에게 전한다. 바다/웹은 웹의 서비스 능력과 객체지향 데이터베이스 관리시스템인 바다-III를 서로 보완적 측면에서 통합한 웹-DBMS 통로이다. 이 논문에서는 웹과 바다-III를 통합하기 위한 설계와 구현상의 경험을 설명하고, 데이터베이스에 대한 질의들을 통해 바다/웹의 효과를 분석했다.

  • Recently a strong request for the improvement in irrigation water management in order to flexibly meet the spacial and time changes of water demand for agricultural and other uses by saving agricultural water. Thereby, the purpose of this study is to design of Basin Water Management Program(BWMP). BWMP is operate with Open Control System. Accordingly, BMWP is easy to acquire data and control irrigation and drainage facilities. BWMP are consist of Data Base Management System(DBMS) and Model System. DBMS make it possible to analyze data related with planing for water schedul and establish database. Model System are calculate reservoir inflow, reservoir effluent and basin water demand. Finally, operator is decide reservoir operation in consider of Model System and DBMS. BWMP might be nicely adapted to the planning and decision for saving water.
