Planning Support System (PSS), an alternative framework of computer-aided planning system combining geographic information system (GIS), urban models, and visualization tools, has been actively researched and applied in many developed countries. This paper introduces a PSS-based land use change model, What if\ulcorner PSS, by applying it to Chongju City, Korea. This model application study used the spatial database, Restricted Development Zone (RDZ), and other hypothetical land supply- and demand-related policies of Chongju City. The collaborative PSS model supported land use planning process by helping users to speedily and easily create and test policy-oriented scenarios. The study found that the fully operational PSS model was readily applicable and useful to Korean local land use planning. The paper discusses the conceptual model framework, data requirement, application process, model output, and practical usage. This study would be considered as a prototypical approach of PSS-based land use plan making for Korean cities.

A high-speed rail system represents a typical example of large-scale multi-disciplinary systems, consisting of subsystems such as train, electrical hardware, electronics, control, information, communication, civil technology etc. The system design and acquisition data of the large-scale system must be the subject under strict configuration control and management. This paper presents the results from systems engineering application to High Speed Rollingstock 350 eXperimental for management of test and evaluation.

다중 클래스로 이루어진 패턴을 분류하는 것은 데이터 베이스 시스템에서 기록을 그룹화하거나 VLSI 회로에서 어디에 결함이 있는지를 찾는 것 등에서 중요한 역할을 한다. 본 논문에서는 주어진 다중 클래스 패턴을 MACA(Multiple Attractor Cellular Automata)와 부분공간의 개념을 이용하여 가능한 최소 메모리량을 필요로 하는 다중 클래스 패턴 분류기를 구성하는 알고리즘을 제안한다.

In this study, design parameters of ice-transiting vessels in the world, currently in service or under construction, were collected and a database of principal particulars for each ship was established. To understand the recent design trend, ice-transiting vessels were categorized into four groups, i.e., conventional icebreakers, icebreaking tug/supply/research vessels, ice-strengthened passenger/car ferry and ice-strengthened cargo vessels. Changes in principal particulars for each group were reviewed and summarized. It was found that the most significant change in the design of ice-transiting vessels was the increment of large size commercial cargo vessels. It is believed that the recent hike of oil prices and booming of Russian economy has resulted in the need for year-round operation with bigger ships in the Baltic Sea and in the Sea of Okhotsk and also along the Northern Sea Route in Russian Arctic Sea.

CUG(Closed User Group)란 하이텔, 천리안, 포스서브망에서 특정기업의 이용자만이 접속할 수 있도록 마련된 독립적인 통신망 서비스이다. 이 글에서는 이러한 CUG 서비스를 이용하여 전국 각지의 40여개 현장과의 원거리통신망을 성공적으로 운영하고 있는 국제종합건설사례를 분석한다. 주로 문서수발 비용과 시간을 줄이고, 정보분실을 피하기 위해서 도입되었던 CUG는 3년간에 걸친 운영 결과 여러가지 분야에서 업무개선과 바람직한 방향으로의 질적변화를 발생하였다. CUG는 저렴한 비용, 확장용이성, 안정성으로 인해 느슨하게 연결된(loosely coupled) 조직 사이의 원거리통신망 구축에 유력한 대안으로 판단되나, 그 자체가 일반 PC통신망이 가지고 있는 취약한 기능성, 성능, 보안 문제로 인해 본질적인 한계를 가지고 있었다. 사례를 통해 한 기업의 구조, 업무절차, 문화에 적합한 통신수단이 무엇이며, 그것을 어떻게 활용하느냐라는 관점의 중요성이 강조되고 있다.

Recently according to the WIPO's policy of preserving traditional knowledge, constructing the database of traditional knowledge is in progress. To maximize the retrieving power of the knowledge resource systems which will be developed later, it is necessary to construct the ontology for the concepts used by traditional knowledge. In order to construct the ontology systematically, a standardized ontology representation method is needed, and OWL(Web Ontology Language) is the recommendation of W3C(World Wide Web Consortium) and is widely used. Ontology tools can be used to ease the construction of OWL ontology, but no research about the comparison of OWL ontology tools exists. This paper compares the tools of OWL by an objective point of view and with that one can make a decision of using the appropriate tool for constructing OWL ontologies.

최근 아동음성을 이용한 응용분야가 활기를 띄고 있다. 따라서 아동음성DB의 구축이 시급히 필요하게 되었다. 이러한 요구에 따라 아동음성을 여러 응용분야에 적용하기 위한 한 방법으로 아동음성DB를 구축하였고, 이를 이용한 음향모델을 작성하였다. 아동음성의 효율적인 인식을 위한 음향모델을 고찰하기 위하여 연령대별로 음향모델을 만들고, 이를 이용하여 훈련 및 평가용 데이터로 인식 실험한 결과를 비교 검토한다.

본 연구에서는 광기술을 이용한 보고서 서지정보와 원문정보를 관리할 수 있는 보고서관리시스템을 개발하였다. 시스템을 현재 상업적으로 보급되고 있는 문서용 광화일링시스템과의 비교평가를 통하여 보고서관리에 적합하고, 도서관 업무에 효율화에 직접적으로 기여할 수 있는 구조로 설계되었으며, 디지탈 이미지 처리기술, MARC 표준, 영문 OCR등의 기술이 사용되었다. (키워드 : 디지탈 이미지, 광기술, 전문데이타베이스, 표준화, 기술보고서, MARC, 광학문자인식)

We studied a model house system on cyberspace using JAVA and VRML in this paper. In the system, users can not only browse the model house using a web browser but also choose options that they want to install in the final house and the chosen options are combined with the figure of the model house on the terminal window in real time. In addition, the information of the chosen options are transferred to a database on a server machine at the construction company and the company can use the information for the customer management. The developed system can be used by a simple EC system since it includes duplex information paths.

Many users want to add some their own information to data which was on the web and computer without actually needing to touch data. In remote sensing, the result data for image classification consist of image and text file in general. To overcome these inconvenience problems, we suggest the annotation method using XML language. We give the efficient annotation method which can be applied to web and viewing of image classification. We can apply the annotation for web and image classification with image and text file. The need for thesaurus construction is the lack of information for remote sensing and GIS on search engine like Empas, Naver and Google. In search engine, we can’t search the information for word which has many different names simultaneously. We select the remote sensing data from different sources and make the relation between many terms. For this process, we analyze the meaning for different terms which has similar meaning.
