  • Recently, the visualization method of social network service have been only focusing on presentation of visualizing network data, which the methods do not consider an efficient processing speed and computational complexity for increasing at the ratio of arithmetical of a big data regarding social networks. This paper proposes a cloud based on visualization method to visualize a user focused hierarchy relationship between user's nodes on social network. The proposed method can intuitionally understand the user's social relationship since the method uses fuzzy to represent a hierarchical relationship of user nodes of social network. It also can easily identify a key role relationship of users on social network. In addition, the method uses hadoop and hive based on cloud for distributed parallel processing of visualization algorithm, which it can expedite the big data of social network.

  • With the development of smartphones and wearable devices, researches related to platforms that collect lifelogs from these devices and the visualization of the lifelog results have also been advanced. However, the existed researches were impossible to collect data from various devices because they depended on a specific device and platform when transmitting or receiving lifelog data. In addition, they do not provide visualized analysis results of specialized lifelogs in specific areas, such as the users' location information. To resolve the problems, this paper analyzes user location information from the lifelog collection platform and develops the interface and visualization tools for lifelog collection. To do this, we define and analyze the requirements of developing the proposed system. Then, based on the analyzed requirements, this paper develops a lifelog visualization tool using various graphs, maps and the RESTful API interface and shows its implemented results.

  • We propose a visualization method to respond to civil complaints through an analysis of the impact of blasting. In order to analyze the impact of blasting on tunnel excavation, we propose a simulation visualization method considering the mutual influence of the construction infrastructure by linking measurement data and 3D BIM model. First, the level of BIM modeling required for simulation was defined. In addition, vibration measurement data were collected for the GTX-A construction site, terrain and structure BIM were created, and a method for visualizing measurement data using blast vibration estimation was developed. Next, a spherical blasting influence source library was developed for visualization of the blasting influence source, and a specification table that could be linked with Revit Dynamo automation logic was constructed. Using this result, a method for easily visualizing the impact analysis of blasting vibration in 3D was proposed.

  • In this paper we propose a new method of security visualization, VisFlow, using traffic flows to solve the problems of existing traffic flows based visualization techniques that were a loss of end-to-end semantics of communication, reflection problem by symmetrical address coordinates space, and intuitive loss problem in mass of traffic. VisFlow, a simple and effective security visualization interface, can do a real-time analysis and monitoring the situation in the managed network with visualizing a variety of network behavior not seen in the individual traffic data that can be shaped into patterns. This is a way to increase the intuitiveness and usability by identifying the role of nodes and by visualizing the highlighted or simplified information based on their importance in 2D/3D space. In addition, it monitor the network security situation as a way to increase the informational effectively using the asymmetrical connecting line based on IP addresses between pairs of nodes. Administrator can do a real-time analysis and monitoring the situation in the managed network using VisFlow, it makes to effectively investigate the massive traffic data and is easy to intuitively understand the entire network situation.

  • As recent interest in ecological resources increases, an effort in three-dimensional visualization of the ecological resources has increased for the restoration and preservation of the natural environment as well as the evaluation of the landscape. However, in the case of forest resources, information extraction has been active, but the effort in trying to apply that information into an effective visualization has not happened. In other words, the effort for effective visualization is lacking when it comes to the visualization of forest resources, and numerous cases are ether non-realistic or the simulation required for analysis is inappropriate. Therefore, this paper extracts information through the use of airborne LiDAR data, aerial photograph, and forest type maps to create a vegetation layer, and then uses Flora3D forest modeling tools and ArcGlobe to accurately visualize the vegetation layer into the three dimension. An effective application for restoration and preservation of ecological resources as well as analysis on the urban landscape can be considered as a result of intuitively and realistically enabling the user's awareness of forest information within the Geographic Information System.

  • The amount of image data used in medical institution is increasing rapidly with great development of medical technology. Therefore, an automation method that use image processing description, rather than manual macrography of doctors, is required for the analysis large medical data. Specially, medical image registration, which is the process of finding the spatial transform that maps points from one image to the corresponding points in another image, and 3D analysis and visualization skills for a series of 2D images are essential technologies. However, a high establishment cost raise a budget problem, and hence small scaled hospitals hesitate importing these medical visualizing system. In this paper, we propose a visualization system which allows user to manage datasets and manipulates medical images registration using an open source graphics tool - VTK(Visualization Tool Kit). The propose of our research is to get more accurate 3D diagnosis system in less expensive price, compared to existing systems.

  • The integrated underground space map system provides information on infrastructure that requires security, but to prevent rupture accidents during excavation work at the underground construction site, it must provide information on all underground facilities on the site. Providing additional information other than the object of interest to the user is a factor that increases the risk of information leakage of security data. In this paper, we design the visualization filtering method that when visualizing the integrated underground space map in the field, the visualization of entire underground facilities of interest to workers is performed, but visualization of other underground facilities is minimized to minimize the risk of security data information leakage. To this end, a visualization area of a certain distance for each of the underground facilities of interest was created, and an integrated visualization filter was created with spatial union operation. When the integrated underground map is output on the screen, only the objects located within the filter area are visualized using the generated filter information, and objects that exist outside are not visualized, thereby minimizing the provision of information to the user.

  • This study investigated elementary students' spatial thinking and visualization when they learned the shape of volcanoes. For this purpose we used GeoMapApp to design instruction program and assessment items. In the instruction, students were asked to connect the floor plan view of Jeju island with the cross-sectional view of the same figure producted by GeoMapApp. Then they were asked to classify four sets of pictures of volcanoes based on the similarities of figures, that is, dome-shaped and shield volcanoes. In the assessment students solved three questions which examined how they connected the plan view and cross-sectional profile of Kilauea, draw cross-sectional profile of Mt. Fuji, and distinguished a shield volcano and dome-shaped one. Students' discourse data during the class were analyzed according to the amount to showing their spatial thinking and visualization. The instruction program using GeoMapApp assisted students to facilitate their spatial thinking for understanding of volcanoes. The outcomes of assessment showed even elementary students had good spatial thinking and visualization. Therefore, we argued spatial thinking and visualization for geoscientific understanding need to be included in the national science curriculum for elementary students.

  • High dynamic range (HDR) imaging offers a radically approach of representing colors in digital images. Instead of using the range of colors produced by given devices, HDR imaging method manipulates and stores all colors and brightness levels visible to the human eye. To faithfully represent, store and then reproduce all these effects, the original scene must be stored and treated using high fidelity HDR techniques. Then, tone mapping is required to accommodate HDR image to low dynamic range (LDR) devices, and tone mapping operation of HDR image for realistic display is commonly researched. However, color visualization for analyzing scene luminance in HDR imaging has less attention from researches. This paper presents and implements a method for reproduction and visualization of the false color in HDR images. We produce a color visualization framework with several mapping functions, and evaluate their effectiveness by using RMAE and SNR with commonly used HDR image data. Experiment reveals that the sigmodal mapping function shows better performance in the false color visualization, compared to other methods.
