Blockchain Applications in Construction

  • Construction is one of the oldest fields of providing human living comfort. However, despite the continuous development not only in IT but also in other fields, productivity degradation due to low automation is still serious. In particular, the use of the 4th industrial revolution technologies in construction is just beginning. Blockchain, which is one of the 4th industrial revolution technologies, is a type of a distributed database that is used to replicate, share, and synchronize data spread across different geographical locations, such as multiple sites, countries, or organizations. In this paper, we introduce the block chain and analyze use cases according to seven themes in construction. As a result of the analysis, it is expected to increase the understanding of blockchain in construction and provide usefulness for the development of various services in the future.

Classification of DJI Drones Based on Flight Log Decryption Method (비행 로그 복호화 방식에 따른 DJI 드론 분류)

  • With the development and popularization of drone manufacturing technology, the drone market, which was mainly focused on industry, agriculture, and military, is also showing great growth in individual and commercial markets. Among them, DJI has a high share in the personal and commercial drone market, and accordingly, forensic analysis of DJI drones is drawing attention. In particular, when stealing and analyzing drones used in criminal acts, a technology to interpret flight logs recording drone flight paths and hardware information is needed, which inevitably applies drone models due to differences in decryption methods. Therefore, when an unidentified drone is acquired from the perspective of a digital forensic investigator, a clear classification of a drone model to which analysis can be applied is required. This paper proposes a method of extracting and analyzing artifacts of DJI drones through forensics, and analyzes media data analysis and flight log analysis results and decryption methods for three drone models with different release years of DJI. Finally, drones in the DJI product line are classified according to whether the commercialized DJI drone flight log is decrypted.

  • This paper introduces a monitoring and tracking system for corona19 confirmed patients based on the collected data by installing a device that can manage the access list at the entrance to each building on the campus. The existing QR-based electronic access list can't measure the temperature of the person entering the building and it is inconvenient that members have to scan their QR codes with a smartphone. In addition, when the state manages information about confirmed patients and contacts on campus, it is not easy for members to quickly share and track information. These could lead to cases where a person is in close contact with an infected person developing another patient. Therefore, this paper introduces a device using face recognition library and a temperature sensor installed at the entrance of each building on the campus, enabling the administrator to monitor the access status and quickly track members of each building in real-time.

  • The government introduced a waste disposal share system to reduce the annual increase in construction waste and to increase the recycling rate. As a result, the cost of waste treatment by public institutions is growing inevitably, causing disagreements and disputes between the public owner and the construction waste treatment company. They are also arguing for an increase in construction waste disposal costs. Therefore, in this study, an on-site survey was conducted to identify the current construction waste management problems and to find improvements. The survey was conducted for supervisors of public institutions, construction companies, and those related to waste treatment companies. The survey results were analyzed by dividing the construction waste management, regulations, treatment cost, and treatment method. The results of this study were used as primary data for changes in the construction waste guidelines and waste treatment costs of public institutions.

A Study on the Consumption Value and Clothing Pursuit Benefits of Genderless Fashion based on Gender Identity (젠더정체성에 따른 젠더리스패션의 소비가치 및 의복추구혜택에 관한 연구)

  • This study aimed to analyze the consumption value and clothing pursuit benefits of genderless fashion based on gender identity. The study questionnaire was distributed to and collected from men and women in their 20s and 30s living in Seoul City and the Gyeonggi province. The collected data were analyzed by using Cronbachs α, factor analysis, K-means group classification analysis, and ANOVA. The study results were as follows. First, gender identity was categorized into three groups: the genderless group, the traditional gender rejection group, and the traditional gender acceptance group. Therefore, it is necessary to subdivide gender identity rather than acceptance and rejection of traditional gender roles. Second, an analysis of consumption value based on gender identity showed significant differences in terms of fashion value and expressive value. Therefore, it is important to establish a differentiated strategy based on the relevant gender identity group when establishing genderless fashion design or marketing strategy. Finally, the study results showed that clothing pursuit benefits based on gender identity, there was a significant difference in terms of individuality pursuit, deviation from the norm, and fashion pursuit. In particular, since the genderless phenomenon agrees with the characteristics of the MZ generation, it will be necessary to share brand information or product information through digital media or to utilize a sharing culture-that is, 'meaning out' tendency and 'flex culture' (i.e., conspicuous consumption).

  • The 'MZ generation' is accustomed to expressing their thoughts and opinions online. As a result, the role of social media in understanding the opinions and public sentiment of the MZ generation has become increasingly important. In particular, the role of social media in understanding the opinions of young people in political contexts such as policies and elections is becoming more significant. Traditionally, in such political situations, various institutions conduct opinion surveys to grasp the opinions of the people. However, existing opinion surveys have many errors and limitations in understanding the specific opinions of the entire population since they are conducted on arbitrary individuals through survey techniques. Online communities are representative social media that share the opinions of the public on specific issues such as politics, economics, and culture. Therefore, online communities are widely used as a means to supplement the limitations of traditional opinion polls. In particular, the MZ generation is familiar with online platforms, and their political support has significant influence on election results and policy decisions. With this regard, this study analyzed the relationship between the sentiment reflected in online community text data by age group on major candidates and public opinion survey support rates during the Korean presidential election for those in their 20s. The analysis showed that negative sentiments reflected in online communities by the MZ generation have a negative correlation with public opinion survey support rates. This study contributes to theory and practice by revealing a significant association between social media and public opinion polls.

  • Online video conferencing systems such as Zoom and Discord are mainly used for non-face-to-face work due to their good accessibility and lack restriction of space. However, most online video conferencing systems are difficult to interact in both directions, and problems such as difficulty in communication and lack of immersion are emerging in participants who use them. On the other hand, Metaverse, which has attracted attention with the development of spatial computing, enables smooth interaction like the real world in the three-dimensional virtual world by utilizing hearing, visual, and touch information. In this paper, we propose a method of utilizing the metaverse platform to improve the problem of lack of immersion in the existing online video conferencing system. Through the proposal method, platform users can share and check each other's work screens in a virtual space and exchange various data. In order to improve participants' of immersion, the environment and improvement plan of the metaverse platform were constructed and compared with the existing online video conferencing platform.

A Study on Experiential Space Consumption Patterns in Urban Parks through Blog Text Analysis - Focusing on Ttukseom Hangang Park - (블로그 텍스트 분석을 통해 살펴본 도시공원의 경험적 공간 소비 양상 - 뚝섬한강공원을 중심으로 -)

  • With the recent changes in society and the introduction of new technologies, the usage patterns of parks have become diverse, leading to increased complexity in park management. As a result, there is a growing demand for flexible and diverse park management that can adapt to these new requirements. However, there is inadequate discussion on these new demands and whether urban park management policies can respond. Therefore, empirical research on how park usage patterns are evolving is critical. To address this, blog data, in which individuals share their experiences, was used to examine the spatial consumption patterns through semantic network and topic analysis. This study also explored whether these spatial consumption patterns exhibit experiential consumption characteristics according to the experience economy theory. The results showed that consumption behaviors, such as renting picnic sets and having food and drinks delivered, were prominent and that emotional experiences were pursued. Furthermore, these findings were consistent with the experiential consumption characteristics of the experience economy theory. This suggests that park planning and maintenance methods need to become more flexible and diverse in response to the changing demands for park usage.

An Analysis of Factors Affecting Medical Operating Income at Regional Public Hospital (지방의료원 의료이익에 대한 영향요인 분석)

  • Background: Despite the various activities of the regional public hospitals, discussions are being made as to whether or not to continue due to the issue of financial deficit. Therefore, the main factors affecting the fiscal deficit were analyzed with 10-year data. Methods: This study is a panel analysis that analyzed the characteristics of 34 regional public hospitals and influencing factors on medical benefits for 10 years from 2010 to 2019. First, we analyze the determinants of medically vulnerable areas set by the government, analyze the trend of medical profit per 100 beds and medical profit rate from 2010 to 2019, and identify the factors that affect them. Results: Differences in medical profit per 100 beds and medical profit-to-medical profit rate were caused by market share representing regional characteristics, and both indicators improved as the number of outpatients increased. The important influencing variables are the number of doctors and nurses, and both indicators improve when there are specialists, but medical benefits decrease as the number of doctors increases when judged by the number of people per 100 beds. In addition, the number of nurses per 100 beds does not contribute to medical profit and has a negative effect on the medical profit ratio. Conclusion: As only regional characteristics were taken into account for medically vulnerable areas, operational characteristics need to be considered. The greatest impact on the finances of local medical centers is the proper staffing of doctors and nurses, and their efficient arrangement is the most important factor in financial stability.

  • Over the last few decades, various innovative technologies have emerged that have significantly contributed to making life easier for humans. Various information and communication technologies (ITCs) have emerged as a result of the global technological revolution, including big data, IoT, 4G and 5G networks, cloud computing, mobile computing, and artificial intelligence. These technologies have been adopted in urban planning and development, which gave rise to the concept of smart cities in the 1990s. A smart city is a type of city that uses ITCs to exchange and share information to enhance the quality of services for its citizens. With the global population increasing at unprecedented levels, cities are overwhelmed with a myriad of challenges, such as the energy crisis, environmental pollution, sanitation and sewage challenges, and water quality issues, and therefore, have become a convergence point of economic, social, and environmental risks. The concept of a smart city is a multidisciplinary, unified approach that has been adopted by governments and municipalities worldwide to overcome these challenges. Though challenging, this transformation is essential for cities with differing technological and social features, which all have the potential to determine the success or failure of the digital transformation of cities into smart cities. In recent years, researchers, businesses, and the government have all turned their attention to the emerging field of smart cities. Accordingly, this paper aims to represent a thorough understanding of the movement toward smart cities. The key themes identified are smart city definitions and concepts, smart city dimensions, and smart city architecture of different layers. Furthermore, this article discusses the challenges and some examples of smart cities.
