센서 네트워크에서의 질의 처리 기법 (Query Processing Scheme on Sensor Networks)

  • 센서 네트워크는 센서 노드를 이용하여 주변 데이터를 수집하고 수집된 데이터를 가공하여 사용자에게 필요한 정보를 제공하기 위한 정보 서비스 인프라이다. 센서 네트워크를 이용하여 정보를 서비스하기 위해서는 먼저 사용자 질의를 처리하고 필요한 데이터를 추출하기 위한 기법이 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 사용자 질의를 처리하는 기법을 분류하기 위한 기준을 제시한다. 그리고 제시한 기준에 따라 기존의 대표적인 연구들을 분류한다.

Routing Techniques for Data Aggregation in Sensor Networks

  • GR-tree and query aggregation techniques have been proposed for spatial query processing in conventional spatial query processing for wireless sensor networks. Although these spatial query processing techniques consider spatial query optimization, time query optimization is not taken into consideration. The index reorganization cost and communication cost for the parent sensor nodes increase the energy consumption that is required to ensure the most efficient operation in the wireless sensor node. This paper proposes itinerary-based R-tree (IR-tree) for more efficient spatial-temporal query processing in wireless sensor networks. This paper analyzes the performance of previous studies and IR-tree, which are the conventional spatial query processing techniques, with regard to the accuracy, energy consumption, and query processing time of the query results using the wireless sensor data with Uniform, Gauss, and Skew distributions. This paper proves the superiority of the proposed IR-tree-based space-time indexing.

  • In this study, an SW for the analysis of the wind-turbine vibration characteristics was developed as an application of SaaS cloud infrastructure. A measurement system for power-performance, mechanical load, and gearbox vibration as type-test class was installed at a target MW-class wind turbine, and structural meta and raw data were then acquired into the cloud. Data processing algorithms were developed to provide cloud data to the SW. To operate the SW continuously, raw data was downloaded consistently based on the algorithms. During the SW test, an intermittent long time-delay occurred due to the communication load associated with frequent access to the cloud. To solve this, a compression service for the target raw data was developed in the cloud and more stable data processing was confirmed. Using the compression service, stable big data processing of wind turbines, including gearbox vibration analysis, is expected.

Secure and Efficient Privacy-Preserving Identity-Based Batch Public Auditing with Proxy Processing

  • With delegating proxy to process data before outsourcing, data owners in restricted access could enjoy flexible and powerful cloud storage service for productivity, but still confront with data integrity breach. Identity-based data auditing as a critical technology, could address this security concern efficiently and eliminate complicated owners' public key certificates management issue. Recently, Yu et al. proposed an Identity-Based Public Auditing for Dynamic Outsourced Data with Proxy Processing (https://doi.org/10.3837/tiis.2017.10.019). It aims to offer identity-based, privacy-preserving and batch auditing for multiple owners' data on different clouds, while allowing proxy processing. In this article, we first demonstrate this scheme is insecure in the sense that malicious cloud could pass integrity auditing without original data. Additionally, clouds and owners are able to recover proxy's private key and thus impersonate it to forge tags for any data. Secondly, we propose an improved scheme with provable security in the random oracle model, to achieve desirable secure identity based privacy-preserving batch public auditing with proxy processing. Thirdly, based on theoretical analysis and performance simulation, our scheme shows better efficiency over existing identity-based auditing scheme with proxy processing on single owner and single cloud effort, which will benefit secure big data storage if extrapolating in real application.

  • We have developed a graphic software for image processing of astronomical data obtained by observational equipment in Astronomical Observatory of Kyung Hee University. The essential hardware for running our computer program is simply composed of a PC with the graphic card to handle 256 colors and the color graphic monitor, including CCD camera system. Our software has been programmed in WINDOWS to provide good environments for users, by using various techniques of image processing on astronomical image data recorded in FITS format by KHCCD program(Jin and Kim, 1994) with a compressional mode. We are convinced that our results will be a fundamental and useful technique in the construction of data processing system and can be effectively used in any other observatories, as well as in data processing system of Kyung Hee University.

탄성파반자료자료의 경사보정 연구 (A Study on Dip-Moveout of Seismic Reflection Data)

  • Common-mid-point (CMP) seismic data on a dipping layer have have a stacking different from a horizontal layer velocity and the reflection points on data are dispersed to many positions. Therefore, the CMP data are not stacked well by the conventional stacking method using the horizontal layer velocity. The CMP gather can ideally stacked by applying dip-moveout(DMO) processing. Hence, modern seismic processing indludes DMO as an essential routine step. DMO processing techniques are broadly categorized by two, Fourier transform and integral methods, each of which has many different computational schemes. In this study, the dip-decomposition technique of the Fourier transform method is used to test the DMO effect on the synthetic scismic data generated for dipping structures. Each of constnat offset sections NMO corrected by using the layer velocity of the model and DMO processed. The resulting zero-offset sections for many offsets are stacked. The stacked sections with DMO processing show the structural boundaries of the models much better than those without DMO processing.

  • Due to its inherent feature of high-resolution satellite, there is strong need in some specific area to minimize the processing time required to get a standard image on hand from downlink signal acquisition. However, in general image processing system, it takes considerable time to get image data up to certain level from raw data acquisition because the huge amount of data is dealt sequentially as input data. This paper introduces the high-speed image processing system which generates the image data only for the area selected by user. To achieve the high speed performance, this system includes Quick Look Image display function with sampling, ROI selection function, Image Line Index function, and Distributed processing function. The developed RPS was applied to KOMPSAT-2 320Mbps downlink channel and its effectiveness was successfully demonstrated. This feature to provide the image product very quickly is expected to promote the application of high resolution satellite image.

  • This paper propose a hardware architecure of multimediasysgem for integrated processing of the multimedia data such as audio and video, and describes on the design and implementation of multimedia integrated processing Unit. The unit comprises most commonly needed multimedia processing function for computer-based video conference: audio-visual datacapture, playback, compression, decompression as well as interleaving/disinterleaving of compressed audio-visual data. The proposed architecture minimizes the CPU overhead that might be caused by multimedia data processing and assures the fluent data flow among system components. Also, this unit is tested and analyzed under the computer-based video conference to confirm the multimedia unit of proposed architecture using communication protocol and application software through Ethernet and FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) networks.

  • Establishment of appropriate data in certain formats is essential for agricultural water cycle analysis, which involves complex interactions and uncertainties such as climate change, social & economic change, and watershed environmental change. The main objective of this study was to develop web-based Data processing and Model linkage Techniques for Agricultural Water-Resource analysis (AWR-DMT). The developed techniques consisted of database development, data processing technique, and model linkage technique. The watershed of this study was the upper Cheongmi stream and Geunsam-Ri. The database was constructed using MS SQL with data code, watershed characteristics, reservoir information, weather station information, meteorological data, processed data, hydrological data, and paddy field information. The AWR-DMT was developed using Python. Processing technique generated probable rainfall data using non-stationary frequency analysis and evapotranspiration data. Model linkage technique built input data for agricultural watershed models, such as the TANK and Agricultural Watershed Supply (AWS). This study might be considered to contribute to the development of intelligent watercycle analysis by developing data processing and model linkage techniques for agricultural water-resource analysis.

데이터 재사용을 고려한 그래프 스트림의 점진적 처리 기법 (Incremental Processing Scheme for Graph Streams Considering Data Reuse)

  • 최근 소셜 미디어, IoT 등에 대한 활용이 증가됨에 따라 대용량의 그래프 스트림이 생성되고 있으며 그래프 스트림을 실시간으로 처리하기 위한 많은 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 그래프가 지속적으로 변경될 때 이전 결과 데이터를 재사용하는 점진적인 그래프 스트림 처리 기법을 제안한다. 또한, 점진적 처리와 정적인 처리를 선택적으로 수행하기 위한 비용 모델을 제안한다. 제안하는 비용 모델은 실제 처리된 이력을 바탕으로 재계산 영역의 탐색 비용 및 처리 비용의 예측 값을 계산하여 점진적 처리가 정적인 처리보다 이득인 경우 점진적 처리를 수행한다. 제안하는 점진적 처리는 그래프 갱신이 발생하면 변경되는 부분만을 처리하여 효율성을 증가시킨다. 또한, 변경되는 부분의 이전 결과 데이터만을 수집하여 점진적인 처리를 수행함으로써 디스크 I/O 비용을 감소시킨다. 다양한 성능평가를 통해 제안하는 기법이 기존 기법에 비해 성능이 우수함을 보인다.
