Performance Analysis of Cellular If Using Combined Cache and Alternative Handoff Method for Realtime Data Transmission (실시간 데이터를 지원하는 통합 캐시 및 차별화된 핸드오프를 이용한 셀룰러 IP의 성능분석)

  • In this paper, the new scheme using a Combined Cache(CC) that combing the Paging and Routing Cache(PRC) and an alternative handoff method according to the type of data transmission for achieving the efficient realtime communication. The PRC and quasi-soft handoff method reduce the path duplication. But they increase the network traffic load because of the handoff state packet of Mobile Host(MH). Moreover the use the same handoff method without differentiating the type of transmission data. Those problems are solved by operating U with a semi-soft handoff method for realtime data transmission and with a hard handoff method for non-realtime data transmission. As a result or simulation a better performance is obtained because of the reduction of the number of control packet in case that the number of cells are below 20. And the packet arrival time and loss of packet decreased significantly for realtime data transmission.

  • Currently, the industry uses MODBUS communication method using RS485 as a communication method used when constructing distributed equipment and networks. However, this method has a rather good transmission and reception distance, but has a disadvantage of being a half-duplex communication method. Therefore, there is a great need for a full-duplex communication method that can simultaneously transmit and receive two-wire communications. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new communication hardware equipment that can implement full-duplex communication method by communication signal level to overcome the disadvantage of communication speed. The proposed communication hardware is a structure that can transmit and receive at the same time on the same communication line in two equipments communicating in a two-wire system. The characteristic of this communication hardware is that the transmitter generates two-level signal for data transmission, but the receiver generates three-level electric signal according to the status of the transmission data generated by the receiver. The data transmission signal information of the receiver is present at the same time. Therefore, the receiving side can analyze the received signal based on the information on the current transmission signal and can analyze the signal only in the two communicating devices, so it can be seen that the communication security is very excellent.

  • This paper proposes to increase the node energy effienciecy, which rapidly drops during the transmission of LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierachy), using the method of DL-LEACH (Dual-hop Layered LEACH). By introducing dual-hop method in the data transmission, the proposed single-hop method for short-range transmission and multi-hop transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduce. By introducing a partial multi-hop method in the data transmission, a single-hop method for short range transmission method between the cluster heads for remote transmission was introduces. In the proposed DL-LEACH, the energy consumption of cluster head for remote transmission reduces and increases the energy efficiency of sensor node by reducing the transmission distance and simplifying the transmission routine for short-range transmission. As compared the general LEACH, it was adapted to a wider sensor field.

  • In general, many IoT devices, including smart phones, use LTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth, and these communication modules generate a lot of energy consumption during periodic data transmission. This paper proposes a method of the data transmission mode change for improving energy efficiency in various communication environments that mobile devices may encounter. We propose an algorithm for setting the mode considering energy efficiency, data transmission performance and cost when the mobile device transmits data, and transmitting the data in an optimized manner according to the state of the mobile device. The proposed algorithm is implemented through experiments on energy efficiency for each communication module, and the scenario is used to verify how efficiently the proposed algorithm uses energy.

  • The UPnP is middleware architecture that supports dynamic distributed computing environment. It has many good features for possible use as middleware in robot system integration. There is a need for bulky binary data transmission between distributed robot S/W components. Since the UPnP utilizes SOAP protocol for message transmission, however, it is not efficient to send bulky binary data. In order to overcome this weak point, this paper proposes UPnP-MTOM, MTOM (Message Transmission Optimization Mechanism) implementation over UPnP, as an efficient way for bulky binary data transmission with UPnP messages. This paper presents our implementation method and experimental results of the UPnP-MTOM implementation.

  • Generally, vector spatial data, with richer information than raster spatial data enabledata, enables a mere flexible and effective manipulation of the data sets. However, one of challenges against the publication of vector spatial information on the Internet is the efficient transmission of the big and complex vector spatial datadata, which is both large and complex, across the narrow-bandwidth of the Internet. This paper proposes a new transmission method, namely, the Scale-Dependent Transmission method, with the purpose of improving the efficiency of vector spatial data transmission on the narrow-bandwidthacross the Internet. Simply put, its nam idea is “Transmit what can be seen””. Scale is regarded as a factor naturally associated with spatial features so that not all features are visible to users at a certain scale. With the aid of the Wavelet-Wavelet-based Map Generalization Algorithm, the proposed method filters out invisible features from spatial objects according to the display scale and then to transmit onlytransmits only the visible features as athe final answer for an individual operation. Experiments show that the response times ofan individual operation has been reducedoperations were substantially by the usage of reduced when using the proposed method.

Enhancement of Real-Time Transmission Performance of PGA data (PGA 데이터의 실시간 전송능력 향상)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method which improves the performance of transmission of PGA which is essential data for real-time earthquake monitoring system. Currently, above 120 earthquake stations were installed nationwide and additional installation is expected because the social interesting of earthquake hazard is rising. Real-time earthquake monitoring system checks earthquake occurrence by using PGA were calculated from acceleration data of each seismic station. An efficient method of PGA data transmission is key factor of real-time monitoring. The key idea of proposed method is to deal with each seismic station using an unique ID, to assign one bit to indicate whether a packet include a station's data or not. Proposed method can contain more station data and decrease the data loss compared to current method. To verify proposed method, we investigate the turnaround time and ratio of data loss using above 91000 packets. As results of experiment. the proposed method is proven that the method need more time about 50% but reduce the data loss about 87% as compared to previous method.

On the efficient transmission of video stream using characteristic information (특성 정보를 이용한 비디오 스트림의 효율적 전송)

  • Until now, the transmission of data for VOD(Video on Demenad) was based on a real time modelling of video data. Markow Modulated Fluid Sources(MMFS) and Markow Modulated Poisson Sources(MMPS) are the most widely used modelling methods. But the charactersitics of the VBR(Variable Bit Rate) signal prevents modelling from actually being "real-time". Also these methods call for the use of large buffers for the abolishment of cell loss. These modelling methods are, of course, useful i case of teleconferences where a real time modelling of video traffic is inevitable, but they are insufficient in cases where the characteristic infomation of video traffic can be obtained beforehand-cases such as VOD. Video data is speial in that if one file is preprocessed all other products can simply be copied from that onepreprocessed file. This characteristic helps reduce the overhead arising from the job of drawing out characteristic information to almost zero. But still, compared to the existing real time modelling method data transmission using characteristic information succeeds in raising the efficiency of data transmission. In tis paper we will outline a method of dta transmission which use the characteristic information of each video stream, and evaluate this method through some experiments.periments.

  • In a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) with several nodes, real-time data processing is one of important factors. In order to process data appropriately, all the nodes should transmit sensor data in time and the transmission between nodes and their server should be managed very systematically. For the purpose of systematic management of transmission in a USN, this paper proposes a system for analyzing transmission time of sensor data. To implement the proposed system, an analyzing process of data transmission time, an analyzing method of clock drift, a collecting method of data send/receive times, and calculating formulas of data transmission duration are proposed. According to the proposed process and methods, this paper presents a system for monitoring and analyzing data transmission duration, and it also shows the results of a sample case.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient transmission scheme for flight data. It is important to reduce amount of flight data transmitted effectively for timely transmission in airplane that the safety is very importantly recognized. Thus, this paper shows the improved technique transmitting after compressing flight data by the lossless compression technique. Because the proposed method improves the transmission speed of the flight data effectively. The processing of flight data and handling can be easily performed in the time to be restricted. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves 25% data transfer gain compared to the ARINC 429 based transmission method.
