  • In mobile XML environments, the efficient synchronization technique is required to maintain the consistency of replicated XML data because the same data can be replicated between so many different XML documents. In this paper, we propose a message digest based synchronization technique to maintain the consistency of replicated data between client XML documents and a server XML database in mobile XML environments. The proposed an XML data synchronization technique(XSA) has the advantage of model generality aspect and storage space aspect by using the tuple-based message digest table to detect the data conflicts. The proposed technique can be applicable to the application requiring the consistency of replicated XML data without any restrictions in the heterogeneous(between hierarchical XML documents and relational XML databases) mobile environments.

  • Offline-first strategy is that it allows data to be saved while offline, and when connected online, data is synchronized to ensure that all devices have the same data. Multi-device is a term that shares data through synchronization on various platforms on Android, ios, etc. First, all of the data is stored in the local repository like SQLite and then on the server via HTTP communication. Then, the synchronization is completed by receiving the changed data from the server and storing it in the local repository at the time of the synchronization, and sending the changes to the server from the client. We proposed and implemented a database structure, APIs, and a illustrative application running on PC and Android phone.

  • The necessity for the precise time synchronization of measurement data from multiple sensors is widely recognized in the field of global positioning system/inertial navigation system (GPS/INS) integration. Having precise time synchronization is critical for achieving high data fusion performance. The limitations and advantages of various time synchronization scenarios and existing solutions are investigated in this paper. A criterion for evaluating synchronization accuracy requirements is derived on the basis of a comparison of the Kalman filter innovation series and the platform dynamics. An innovative time synchronization solution using a counter and two latching registers is proposed. The proposed solution has been implemented with off-the-shelf components and tested. The resolution and accuracy analysis shows that the proposed solution can achieve a time synchronization accuracy of 0.1 ms if INS can provide a hard-wired timing signal. A synchronization accuracy of 2 ms was achieved when the test system was used to synchronize a low-grade micro-electromechanical inertial measurement unit (IMU), which has only an RS-232 data output interface.

  • This paper presents an effective synchronization algorithm. It is different from the existing synchronization methods by inserting appropriate synchronization instructions between statements according to different kinds of data dependencies. The overhead caused by too many synchronization instructions in a loop can be a critical problem. Synchronization optimization is a method which discriminates and eliminates the redundant synchronization instructions in a loop. In this paper, a new synchronization optimization algorithm is developed, and performance analysis using simulation on the UNIX operating system is carried out.

  • In most application programs, loops usually contain most of the computation in a program and are the most improtant source of parallelism. When loops are executed on multiprocessors, the cross iteration data dependences need to be enforced by synchronization between processors. In this paper, we propose a new synchronization scheme(Free/Hold) for reducing overgeads occured by synchronization variables in data oriented scheme and delay of time occured by synchronization instruction in statement oriented scheme. The Free/Hold mechanism enforces the correct execution order by inserting synchronization instruction between each instance with data dependence relationship using the RD(Real dependence Distance). We also present an algorithm for removing unnecessary dependences in one-to-many dependences.

  • This paper considers the synchronization problem of chaotic systems. For this problem, the sampled-data control approach is used to achieve asymptotic synchronization of two identical chaotic systems. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, a new stability condition is obtained via linear matrix inequality formulation to find the sampled-data feedback controller which achieves the synchronization between chaotic systems. Finally, the proposed method is applied to a numerical example in order to show the effectiveness of our results.

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm of block synchronization that uses data withoug synchronization preambles. Block synchronization systems is implemented using the DSP chip employing the proposed algorithm. The data spread of the DFT blocks is proportional to the offset of DFT block and this information is used to achieve the block synchronization in the receiver. The initial bleock synchronization and the clock synchronization between transmitter and receiver are achieved using the early-late removal of the guard interval. The hardware implmentation is carried out using the DSP chip TM320C30 to verify the proposed block synchronization algorithm with the data rate 1200bps. The DSP chip calculates the spread of the 128 complex FFT in the receiver with the system clock 30MHz. It is believed that the proposed synchronization algorithm can be used in the design of OFDM block synchronization with the high processing DSP chip.

  • Synchronization methods for shared data need to be selected properly based on characteristics of data and applications. In this paper we suggest a new semantic synchronization method, semanticAppr, for non_transactional data in disconnected mode. Our approach reduces loss of works in cooperative environments by weakening constraint of serializability. In addition it reduces data transfer by sending operation log instead document itself.

  • This paper proposes a joint timing synchronization, channel estimation, and data detection for the impulse radio ultra-wideband systems. The proposed timing synchronizer consists of coarse and fine timing estimation. The synchronizer discovers synchronization points in two stages and performs adaptive threshold based on the maximum pulse averaging and maximum (MAX-PA) method for more precise synchronization. Then, iterative channel estimation is performed based on the discovered synchronization points, and data are detected using the selective rake (S-RAKE) detector employing maximal ratio combining. The proposed synchronizer produces two signals-the start signal for channel estimation and the start signal for start frame delimiter (SFD) detection that detects the packet synchronization signal. With the proposed synchronization, channel estimation, and SFD detection, an S-RAKE receiver with binary pulse position modulation binary phase-shift keying modulation was constructed. In addition, an IEEE 802.15.4a channel model was used for performance comparison. The comparison results show that the constructed receiver yields high performance close to perfect synchronization.
