In recent years, two major streams in medical information systems are：1) system integration among OCS(Order Communication System), EMR(Electronic Medical Record), PACS(Picture Archiving and Communication System), and ERP(Enterprise Resource Planning) and 2) system integration through medical collaboration between East and West medical service providers. One of the characteristics which differentiate the Korean medical industry from the western medical industry is the East-West medical collaboration. In many respects there are many differences between East and West medical treatment. Although East and West medical treatment have developed from different medical philosophies and standards, we assume that the better medical care can be provided by integrating their medical procedures effectively. The two possible approaches to the integration of East and West medical information systems are suggested in this paper：One is loosely coupled model and the other is tightly coupled model. EMR improves the quality of medical record which reflects the quality of clinical practice. It provides more efficient and convenient way of input, retrieval, storage, communication and management of medical data. We abstracted the standard medical procedures from the two medical procedures performed in Daejeon Oriental Hospital and Hehwa Clinic at Daejeon University and also abstracted database schema by analyzing the characteristics of information needed in East-West medical collaboration. Our EMR is composed of two types of data：one is structured data and the other is unstructured data, which are formalized by SOAP(Subjective, Objective, Assessment, Plan) format. Currently the integrated system is implemented and operated successfully for six months.

Amount of biological data information has been increasing exponentially. In order to cope with this bio-information explosion, it is necessary to construct a biological data information integration system. The integration system could provide useful services for bio-application developers by answering general complex queries that require accessing information from heterogeneous bio data sources, and easily accommodate a new database into the integrated systems. In this paper, we analyze architectures and mechanisms of existing integration systems with their advantages and disadvantages. Based on this analysis and user requirement studies, we propose an integration system framework that embraces advantages of the existing systems. More specifically, we propose an integration system architecture composed of a mediator and wrappers, which can offer a service interface layer for various other applications as well as independent biologists, thus playing the role of database management system for biology applications. In other words, the system can help abstract the heterogeneous information structures and formats from the application layer. In the system, the wrappers send database-specific queries and report the result to the mediator using XML. The proposed system could facilitate in silico knowledge discovery by allowing combination of numerous discrete biological information databases.

One of the most important issues in post-genome era is identifying functions of genes and understanding the interaction among them. Such interactions from complex biochemical pathways, which are very useful to understand the organism system. We present an integrated biochemical pathway database system with a set of software tools for reconstruction, visualization, and simulation of the pathways from the database. The novel features of the presented system include: (a) automatic integration of the heterogeneous biochemical pathway databases, (b) gene ontology for high quality of database in the integration and query (c) various biochemical simulations on the pathway database, (d) dynamic pathway reconstruction for the gene list or sequence data, (e) graphical tools which enable users to view the reconstructed pathways in a dynamic form, (f) importing/exporting SBML documents, a data exchange standard for systems biology.

It is certain that the future manufacturing environment will be network-centric and spatially distributed based on Internet. Today, wide variety of distributed computing and communication technologies are available for implementing a system for product data exchange and sharing. One of the technologies that have been received most attentions for product data exchange and sharing is Product Data Management (PDM). PDM tries to integrate and manage process of data and technical documents that are connected to physical product components. In accordance to previous researches about PDM, it can be regarded as an integration tool of many different areas, which ensures that the right information is available to the right person at the right time and in the right form throughout the enterprise. PDM with Web-enabled CAD system is proposed in this paper in order to acknowledge the usefulness of the system mentioned. The system will use Web service on Visual Studio C#.Net to invoke the web application system.

An intelligent system embedded with multiple sources of knowledge may provide more robust intelligence with highly ill structured problems than the system with a single source of knowledge. This paper proposes the hybrid knowledge integration mechanism that yields the cooperated knowledge by integrating expert, user, and machine knowledge within the fuzzy logic-driven framework, and then refines it with a genetic algorithm (GA) to enhance the reasoning performance. The proposed knowledge integration mechanism is applied for the prediction of Korea stock price index (KOSPI). Empirical results show that the proposed mechanism can make an intelligent system with the more adaptable and robust intelligence.

정보기술과 인터넷의 진화에 따라 기하급수적으로 증가하는 디지털콘텐츠를 효율적으로 저장, 검색, 변경, 관리할 수 있는 네트워크 기반 저장관리시스템이 요구되고 있다. 분산 네트워크 환경하에 이 기종 시스템의 데이터 통합관리, 저장 장치의 효과적인 활용, 데이터 전송 한계 등의 문제에 대한 해결방안으로 SAN이 대두되었다. SAN은 개별적으로 서버에 연결되던 저장장치들을 광 채널과 같은 고속네트워크에 직접 연결시켜 대용량 데이터를 효과적으로 관리하고 공유할 수 있도록 해주는 시스템이다. 본 연구는 저장관리시스템의 기술과 표준화 및 시장동향 조사와 다중 시스템 저장장치의 통합과 저장장치의 가상화를 이루기 위한 구조와 구성장치 및 성능을 비교 분석하였다.

현재 대부분의 자동차 부품 제조업체에서는 자동차 부품개발 및 구매, 생산 관리 등에 어려움을 격고 있으며, 자동차 부품의 신규 개발 및 설계 변경 시 신규 등록 및 이력 관리에 어려움이 있다. 이에 따라 여러 가지 부품에 대한 자동화된 이력관리와 부품의 데이터베이스 구축에 대한 필요성을 절실히 느끼고 있는 상항이다. 이에 본 논문은 자동차 제조 부품관련 데이터 검색과 실시간 생산통합관리 시스템 개발을 위한 설계를 목적으로 한다. 설계 데이터 변경에 대한 자재변경과정을 입력함으로써 자동적으로 데이터 갱신이 이루어질 수 있도록 하였고, 부품에 대한 품명, 품번을 입력하면 관련 부품 이력정보의 통합관리가 가능하도록 하였다.

This paper presents a case study on an integration between ERP and GIS solutions. Some expected advantages of each solution of the integrated system are discussed. We select an integrated system composed of SAP R/3 ERP and ESRI GIS solutions. The data and software integration (interface) framework are discussed, and finally some further studies are added.

The purpose of this study was to examine how the relationship with grandparents and intergenerational integration program influences the children's attitudes toward elderly. Data for the study were collected from 132 elementary school students who attended the regional children's centers or social education centers that conduct intergenerational integration programs. The respondents reported positive attitudes toward elderly and perceived elderly as kind, likable, bright, clean and happy. A multiple regression analysis was conducted to identify the variables that affect children's attitudes toward elderly. While frequency of contact with grandparents, perceptions about grandparents, and frequency of intergenerational integration programs had strong effects on the children's attitudes toward elderly, experience of living with grandparents, perceptions about the intergenerational integration programs, and helpfulness of the intergenerational integration programs did not show significant effects on children's attitudes toward elderly.

대양을 운항하는 선박들의 효율적이고 안전한 운항 관리를 위해 국제 해상법적 환경이 강화되고 있으며, 선박과 육상간의 정보 공유에 대한 요구가 증대하고 있다. 이에 따라 디지털 선박, 선박 통합화 플랫폼, 선박 통합화 네트워크에 대한 연구가 미국과 유럽 등에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 선박 통합화 플랫폼을 연구하고, 선박 통합화 시스템 구축의 핵심이 되는 선박 통합화 네트워크의 설계 및 구현을 수행하였다. 선박 내 각종 시스템 및 기기들을 계층별 네트워크를 구성하고 통합화 프로토콜을 설계하였으며, 선박 통합 정보들을 표준화된 플랫폼으로 관리하고 필요한 정보를 선박-육상 네트워크를 통해 육상으로 전송하여 육상에서 관리 및 지원이 가능한 시스템을 구현하였다. 또한 설계${\cdot}$구현된 선박 통합화 시스템을 실제 운용중인 선박에 적용하여 시스템의 신뢰성 및 선박-육상간의 지원체계의 효용성을 확인하였다.
