Format preserving encryption(FPE) performs encryption with preserving the size and format of plain-text. Therefore, it is possible to minimize the structural change of the database before and after the encryption. For example, when encrypting data such as credit card number or social security number, it is possible to maintain the existing database structure because FPE outputs the same form of cipher-text as plain-text. Currently, the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommends FF1 and FF3 as standards for FPE. Recently, in Korea, FEA, which is a very efficient FPE algorithm, has been adopted as the standard of FPE. In this paper, we analyze FEA and measure the performance of FEA by optimizing it in various environments.

Electronic Navigational Charts (ENCs) are digital charts encoded in S-57 format, which contain navigational informations such as coastlines, depth areas, and nautical marks. Although they have been successfully used for the safe navigation of ships, they have limited usages and applications because of their specialized data format and access systems. To cope with such drawbacks, S-57 ENCs need to be transformed into more generalized format such as Geography Markup Language (GML). The transformed GML ENCs can be kept in a database for efficiency, and can be accessed through Internet for usability. This paper proposes a new method for transforming and managing ENCs with XML database. S-57 ENCs are lust transformed into GML format, and then stored in a XML database. On the database, users can query for their needs. To validate the feasibility of the proposed method, we developed a protype system, and then conducted several test runs. The system can provide users with easy access to the marine information contained in ENCs. It also provides compatibility and efficiency by virtue of GML and XML database, respectively.

In this paper, the definition and the requirement from Users of standardization of high resolution satellite image data will be presented. If Users do not use the satellite image data, the satellite will be useless thing though it has been developed and operated now. The standardization of the satellite image data will make Users use the image data with no problem, so KARI has to do the standardization of it as a space agency that has developed and operated the satellite. For the standardization of it, the technical requirement to develop the satellite, the international standardization for the satellite image data and the requirement from Users will be reflected into the satellite development, and then the format and content of the satellite image data to Users have to be accommodated with the standard format of it. In addition to it, the calibration and validation just make sure of the quality of the satellite image data. For this, KARI has just been doing the standardization of KOMPSAT series in stages.

The government and public institutions are conducting public-opinion surveys as means of drawing the scientific policy decisions throughout the country's whole sectors ; society, culture, welfare, education, etc. The Government Survey Data have been under management by each governmental department, but the improper ways of data collection and management have led to omissions and losses of some data. Also there are limitations on the statistic usage and access to the data due to the fact that the data are managed dispersedly in the form of printed materials. Accordingly, to make the survey data available for the long-term preservation and usage, this study suggests collection policy, standard of evaluation, metadata, the procedure and method of converting materials, preservation format.

There are several ways to process large amounts of data. Depending on the processing method, there is a big difference in processing speed to create a large data list. Typically, to make a large data list, large data is converted into a normalized query, and the result of the query is stored in a List Map and converted into a printable form. This process occurs as a cause of lowering the processing speed step by step. In the process of storing the results of the created query as a List Map, the processing speed differs because the data is stored in a different format for each type of data. Through the simultaneous processing of GO language, we want to solve the problem of the existing difference in processing speed. In other words, it compares the results of GO language concurrency processing by providing how different and how it proceeds between the format contained in the existing List Map and the method of processing using concurrency in large data lists for faster processing. do.

Automated rebar fabrication, which requires effective information exchange between model designers and fabricators, has brought the integration and interoperability of data from different sources to the notice of both academics and industry practitioners. Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) was one of the most commonly used data formats to represent the semantic information of prefabricated components in buildings, whereas the data format utilized by rebar fabrication machine is BundesVereinigung der Bausoftware (BVBS), which is a numerical data structure exchanging reinforcement information through ASCII encoded files. Seamless transformation between IFC and BVBS empowers the automated rebar fabrication and improve the construction productivity. In order to improve data interoperability between IFC and BVBS, this study presents an IFC extension based on the attributes required by automated rebar fabrication machines with the help of Information Delivery Manual (IDM) and Model View Definition (MVD). IDM is applied to describe and display the information needed for the design, construction and operation of projects, whereas MVD is a subset of IFC schema used to describe the automated rebar fabrication workflow. Firstly, with a rich pool of vocabularies practitioners, OmniClass is used in information exchange between IFC and BVBS, providing a hierarchy classification structure for reinforcing elements. Then, using International Framework for Dictionaries (IFD), the usage of each attribute is defined in a more consistent manner to assist the data mapping process. Besides, in order to address missing information within automated fabrication process, a schematic data mapping diagram has been made to deliver IFC information from BIM models to BVBS format for better data interoperability among different software agents. A case study based on the data mapping will be presented to demonstrate the proposed IFC extension and how it could assist/facilitate the information management.
The purpose of the paper is to enable a format transcoding between a heterogeneous compression format in a real time, and to enhance the compression ratio using characteristics of the compressed frame. In this paper, for the heterogeneous format transcoding, we tried to transcode from MPEG2 having a lower compression ratio to H.263 having a higher compression ratio. After analyzing MPEG 2 bit stream and H.263 bit stream of the same original video, we found that the number of intra coded macro blocks in MPEG 2 data is much higher than the number of the intra coded macro blocks in H.263 data. In the process of P frame generation, a intra coded macro block is generated when a motion estimation value representing the similarity between the previous frame and current frame does not meet a threshold. Especially the intra coded macro block has a great impact on the compression ratio. Hence the paper, we tried to minimize the number of intra coded macro blocks in H.263 data stream which is transcoded from MPEG 2 in a compressed domain. For the purpose, we propose a guided search method for transcoding the INTRA coded block into INTER coded block using the information about motion vectors surrounding the intra macro block in order to minimize the complexity of the motion estimation process. The experimental results show that the transcoding of MPEG 2 into H.263 can be done in a real time successfully.

Multi-media service has been changed into user based audio services, which service supports actively user's preference and interaction with the users. In the market, multi-media products which can support the highest audio-quality by using lossless audio technology have been released and object audio music which user can select the objects has been serviced. In this paper, we design user's preference information based object audio file format and audio scene description for storage and transmission media. The designed file format is designed based on MPEG-4 file format because high-quality audio codecs in MPEG-4 audio can be easily used and the track of file format can be flexibly controlled depend on the number of the instrument in music. The encoded audio data of each objects and encoded audio scene description by binary encoding that has independent track are packed in a file. The scene description for storage media is consist of full and object scene description, the scene description for transmission media has an essential description for object audio operation and a specific description for real audio sound. The designed file format based simulator is developed and it generates an object audio file with several scene descriptions. Also, the real audio sound is serviced by the interaction with user and the unpacked scene description.

The High Efficiency Image File Format (HEIF) is an MPEG-developed image format that utilizes the video codec H.265 to store still screens in a single image format. The iPhone has been using HEIF since 2017, and Android devices such as the Galaxy S10 have also supported the format since 2019. The format can provide images with good compression rates, but it has a complex internal structure and lacks significant compatibility between devices and software, making it not popular to replace commonly used JPEG (or JPG) files. However, despite the fact that many devices are already using HEIF, digital forensics research regarding it is lacking. This means that we can be exposed to the risk of missing potential evidence due to insufficient understanding of the information contained inside the file during digital forensics investigations. Therefore, in this paper, we analyze the HEIF formatted photo file taken on the iPhone and the motion photo file taken on the Galaxy to find out the information and features contained inside the file. We also investigate whether or not the software we tested support HEIF and present the requirement of forensic tools to analyze HEIF.
Intelligent remote learning system is a system that incorporate communication technology and others : a database engine, an intelligent tutorial system. Learners can study by themselves through the intelligent tutorial system. The existence of a communication, database and artificial intelligence enhance the capability of IRLS. According to Parsaye, an intelligent databases should have the following features : 1) Knowledge discovery. 2) Data integrity and quality control. 3) Hypermedia management. 4) Data presentation and display. 5) Decision support and scenario analysis. 6) Data format management. 7) Intelligent system design tools.
