  • This paper deals with the comparison of signal processing techniques of ultrasonic data. The goal of signal processing is the ultrasonic speckle suppression and the visibility enhancement of flaw-reflected ultrasonic echo. The performance of conventional SSP(split spectrum processing) method and the wavelet denoising method are compared and discussed for tested ultrasonic data. Tested ultrasonic data obtained from the weld area of centrifugal-casted stainless steel material and safe-ending material with holes and notch of variable depths are presented. In experimental results, the outputs of wavelet-based denoising method show the clear and sharp peaks at the positions of flaw-reflected echos comparing with those of SSP method.

  • The major purpose of this article is the comparison of estimation method with Newton-Raphson, Kalman-filter, and prediction method with Kalman prediction. Conditional expectation in space time bilinear(STBL) model, which is a very powerful and parsimonious nonlinear time-series model for the space time series data can be viewed as a set of time series collected simultaneously at a number of spatial locations and time points, and which have appeared in a important applications areas: geography, geology, natural resources, ecology, epidemiology, etc.

  • Korean High Speed Train (KHST) has been tested on high speed line in JungBu site since it was developed in 2002. The KHST figured 7 cars was modeled for dynamic simulation with Vampire program. and the data acquisition system was used to test successfully the on-line test for proving the dynamic performance of KHST. The comparison between test and simulation results for dynamic behavior of KHST was tried in this paper and it was very difficult because the environmental conditions and running conditions have an effect on the test results and these conditions are unable to be modeled for dynamic analysis. Also the parameters for data acquisition system for test are usually not same to simulation conditions. Therefor, in this paper the acceleration data after filtering with low pass filter below 1Hz were used to compare between test and simulation results because the low frequency range is useful to evaluate the dynamic performance for railway vehicle system, so as steady state curving acceleration. The results show that both are similar in low frequency range.

A VLSI Design for Scalable High-Speed Digital Winner-Take-All Circuit

  • A high speed VLSI digital Winner-Take-All (WTA) circuit called simultaneous digital WTA (SDWTA) circuit is presented in this paper. A minimized comparison-cell (w-cell) is developed to reduce the size and to achieve high-speed. The w-cell which is suitable for VLSI implementation consists of only four transistors. With a minimized comparison-cell structure SDWTA can compare thousands of data simultaneously. SDWTA is scalable with O(mlog n) time-complexity for n of m-bit data. According to simulations, it takes 16.5 ns with $1.2V-0.13{\mu}m$ process technology in finding a winner among 1024 of 16-bit data.

  • 일반적으로 비선형 시스템에서 particle filter가 Kalman Filter보다 표적추적 성능이 뛰어나다고 알려져 있다. 그러나 particle filter는 많은 연산량을 요구하는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 particle filter 보다 적은 particle의 수, 즉 적은 연산량으로 동일한 성능을 가지는 Rao-Blackwellized particle filter의 모델의 민감성을 줄인 Rao-Blackwellized Multiple Model Particle Filter(RBMMPF)의 알고리즘을 소개하고 이에 다중센서 정보를 융합하는 자료융합 기법을 적용하였다. 시뮬레이션을 통해 단일센서 정보를 이용한 RBMMPF 표적추적 성능과 다중센서정보를 융합한 RBMMPF의 표적추적 성능을 비교, 분석하였다.

인공신경망 기반의 기타 코드 분류 시스템 성능 비교 (Performance Comparison of Guitar Chords Classification Systems Based on Artificial Neural Network)

  • In this paper, we construct and compare various guitar chord classification systems using perceptron neural network and convolutional neural network without pre-processing other than Fourier transform to identify the optimal chord classification system. Conventional guitar chord classification schemes use, for better feature extraction, computationally demanding pre-processing techniques such as stochastic analysis employing a hidden markov model or an acoustic data filtering and hence are burdensome for real-time chord classifications. For this reason, we construct various perceptron neural networks and convolutional neural networks that use only Fourier tranform for data pre-processing and compare them with dataset obtained by playing an electric guitar. According to our comparison, convolutional neural networks provide optimal performance considering both chord classification acurracy and fast processing time. In particular, convolutional neural networks exhibit robust performance even when only small fraction of low frequency components of the data are used.

  • Forging process is one of the forming process and is used widely in automobile parts and manufacture industry. Especially the gears like spur gear, helical gear, bevel gear were produced by machine tool, but recently they have been manufactured by forging process. The goal of this study is to study forming process with data obtained by comparison between forward extrusion and upsetting simulation results and formability improvement by various heat treatment conditions. By analysis data of 3D FEM by upsetting and forward extrusion forming, the forming process of clutch gear develops using data based on 3D FEM analysis. Through tensile test using specimens by various heat treatment conditions, the optimal heat treatment condition is obtained by comparison the results of tensile test.

  • The purpose of this descriptive research is to identify the recognition and attitude of college students towards Complementary & Alternative Medicine (CAM). The subjects of the study were 620 students of a junior college in the D metropolitan city. The data was collected from July 2 to July 31, 2012 and SPSS/WIN 18.0 program was used to analyze the data. From the comparison of CAM recognition between the two groups. There were significant differences for each item of CAM recognition. For the attitude on CAM, there were significant differences between the two groups. There needs to be more follow-up studies based on the current study in order to establish the basic data that can help find specific educational methods for the areas of CAM that lack recognition from the students.

  • 최근 격자자료(lattice data) 분석 방법을 이용한 소지역 추정(small area estimation)이 연구되고 있으며 좋은 결과를 주고 있는 것으로 알려져 있다. 소지역 추정에 주로 사용되는 격자자료(lattice data) 분석의 경우 가장 자료를 잘 설명할 수 있는 이웃정보시스템을 사용하여야 분석의 효율을 향상시킨 수 있다. 최근 이강석과 신기일 (2008)은 지리정보시스템을 이용하여 만들어진 여러 이웃정보시스템을 비교, 분석하였다. 본 논문에서는 이강석과 신기일(2008)이 제안한 여러 이웃정보시스템이 소지역 추정에 얼마나 영향을 미치는지를 MSE, 커버리지, 캘리브레이션 그리고 회귀분석 방법 등을 이용하여 비교하였다. 2001년 경제활동인구조사의 실업자수 자료가 비교에 사용되었다.

영광 3/4호기 압력용기의 중성자 조사량계산을 통한 ENDF / B-IV와 VI 철(Fe) 자료의 비교 (Comparison of Iron(Fe) Data of ENDF/B-IV and VI in Yonggwang Nuclear Unit-3/4 Vessel Fluence Calculation)

  • 원자로 압력용기에서의 정화한 속중성자 조사량의 계산은 발전소 압력용기 surveillance program의 핵심적인 부문이다. 최근 기존의 ENDF /B-III~V에 있는 철의 핵단면적 자료가 압력용기와 같은 철이 포함된 구조물에서 속중성자속을 낮게 평가하는 것으로 알려지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 ENDF /B-IV와 VI의 철(Fe) 자료의 비교를 위해 영광3/4호기 모델과 2개의 ENDF/B 파일에 있는 각각의 철자료를 이용하여 47-에너지그룹 핵단면적집 (CXFe-IV와 CXFe-VI )을 만들었다. CXFe-IV와 CXFe-VI를 사용하여 수행한 DOT4.3 계산결과에 의하면 압력용기 취화해석에 중요한 속중성자속(E 〉 1.0 MeV) 계산에서 ENDF /B-VI의 철자료를 사용한 경우가 ENDF /B-IV의 철자료를 사용한 경우보다 압력용기 내부표면에서 7.6%, 외부표면에서 20% 높게 나타났다.
