This study is for implementation of PC based Motor fault diagnosis system. By using harmonics and current signals of the motor, this system diagnoses the motor condition by accumulated harmonic contribution rate. In this proposed system that was composed of 5 parts. A sensor, connection box, evaluation board, device server, and main computer are those. There were two types of sensor, one was harmonic sensor the other was current sensors. The signal was acquired by sensor, and transferred to evaluation board. Second one is connection box. Because the output type of sensor and input type of evaluation board is different, connection box was necessary. Third one was evaluation board. The signal from the sensor was converted to digital signal in evaluation board. And this signal was transferred to device server. Fourth one was device server. Device server transferred the data from evaluation board to main computer. And the last one was other parts controlled by main computer in main computer, there were communication and diagnosis algorithms. The result was derived by main computer. In the result, there were 12 categories and 5 levels of motor conditions. The proposed system had some advantages comparing with stand alone type commercial motor fault diagnosis system. The first, by using remote access it was easier to get the conditions of motor. The second, there was no need to handle the sensors when users measured the motor signals. By this property, no one was necessary at motor location site. The third, this system was less restricted by times and places than commercial stand alone type diagnosis system. Therefore users can operate this system only using the main computer. Once the sensors are installed at the motor, users doesn't need to move to check up the condition of motors. Moreover, if there is ethernet hub, many motors can be not only diagnosed at once but also decreased its cost.

An important parameter in characterizing mobile communication channel is delay spread. This paper presents the results of measured delay profiles and calculated distribution funcations of delay spread for typical cellular service environments at Taejon and vicinities. The measurement system uses 1023 chip length, 5 Mbps PN code and sliding correlation method. It has been evaluated by using commercial hardware channel simulator for reliability of out data. As results the value of mean delay spread is 2.08 $\mu\textrm{s}$for suburban area. 2.12 $\mu\textrm{s}$ for urban area and 1.3 $\mu\textrm{s}$ for national/local road. Delay spread is less then 3.4$\mu\textrm{s}$, 2.8$\mu\textrm{s}$ and 1.5 $\mu\textrm{s}$ for probability of 50% and 4.5$\mu\textrm{s}$, 4.2$\mu\textrm{s}$ and 2.9$\mu\textrm{s}$ for probability of 90% at each tested site. The difference of delay spread is within 7% between going and returning status along same street. In this experiment, we found delay spread for suburban area is larger than reported foreign test results.

An objection of this study is to develop a high stable measuring circuits and a analytic system for radioactive pulses. The proposed system consists of a pulse detection units for neutrons and gamma-rays a programmable high voltage supply unit and a digital signal processor. The programmable high voltage supply unit designed can generate DC voltage up to 1,500 V at 5 V input and have a series voltage regulator to maintain the output voltage constantly, resulting in less than 1.63% of voltage regulation. The pulse detection parts consists of an active integrator, a pole-zero circuit, and a 3-stage amplifier of 60 dB, and its frequency bandwidth is from 37 Hz to 300 kHzAlso, pulse height distribution in accordance with pulse counts is important data in analyzing radioactive pulses. In this study, A/D convertor (12bit, 100ms) and DSP (TMS320C31-60) are used to analyze the pulse height, and the analytic system is designed to be operated in PC-base.

This study was designed to provide basic data for developing exercise program that helps correcting posture by knowing the effect of strengthening and elongation exercises of upper extremity muscle to forward head posture correction. In this study determined subjects whether they had forward head posture or not. On the basis of the New York state posture rating, if a subject's posture is match up with the normal standard posture, gives 5 points and if the posture is slightly get out of the normal standard posture, gives 3 points and if the posture is apparently get out of the standard, gives 1 points. When determining the forward head posture, if talus, humerus and outer ear center are on the same line, it is determined as normal and if outer ear center is off the line less than 1.0cm, it is a slight deformation and if outer ear center is off the line more than 1.0cm, it is a high deformation. In the study selected people who have more than 1 cm gap between two vertical lines start from outer ear center and acromion separately as subjects. Length between the ideal alignment line measured by using goniometer and temporal region showed statistically significant decrease as $2.36{\pm}1.07cm$ before the intervention and $1.06{\pm}0.88cm$ after the intervention. After 4 weeks of neck and chest extensor muscle exercise, the group who exercised both showed increase in range of neck joint motion and neck flexion of the forward head posture. Meanwhile the group who only exercised neck extensor muscle only and the group who only exercised chest extensor muscle didn't showed statistically significant result. That only the group who exercised both muscles showed significant result is the different with studies before. Because this study didn't target patient who had a lesion, couldn't compare effect of the conservative manner and exercise. However, this study provides the fact that the group who exercised both neck and chest muscle had more effect than the control group.

In this paper a design of $\pi$/4-DQPSK baseband receiver for the exchange of digital data and e-mail between shore and ship stations and/or among ship stations in the maritime mobile service VHF channels is described. Due to the permitted relatively big frequency instability of local oscillators at the transmitter and the receiver of maritime communication system, the designed baseband receiver should have the capabilities of correct estimation and compensation of the synchronization parameters, such as symbol timing and frequency offset, from the received signal which might include relatively big frequency error. Simulated BER results show that the designed baseband receiver works less than 0.5dB loss under AWGN channel when the normalized frequency offset of the received signal is more then 20%.

Storage devices such as memories are widely used in various electronic products. They require high-density memory and currently the data has been stored in multi-level format, that results in high error rate. In this paper, we apply error correction schemes that are widely used in communication system to the storage devices for satisfying low bit error rate and high code rate. In A WGN channel with average BER $10^{-5}$ and $5{\times}10^{-6}$, we study error correction schemes for 4-1evel cell to achieve target code rate 0.99 and target BER $10^{-11}$ and $10^{-13}$, respectively. Since block codes may perform better than the concatenated codes for high code rate, and it is important to use less degraded inner code even when many bits are punctured. The performance of concatenated codes using general feedforward systematic convolutional codes are worse than the block code only scheme. The simulation results show that RSC codes must be used as inner codes to achieve good performance of punctured convolutional codes for high code rate.

This paper presents the design of the Safety Programmable Logic Controller (SPLC) used in the Nuclear Power Plants, an analysis of a reliability for the SPLC using a markov model. The architecture of the SPLC is designed to have the multiple modular redundancy composed of the Dual Modular Redundancy(DMR) and the Triple Modular Redundancy(TMR). The operating system of the SPLC is designed to have the non-preemptive state based scheduler and the supervisory task managing the sequential scheduling, timing of tasks, diagnostic and security. The data communication of the SPLC is designed to have the deterministic state based protocol, and is designed to satisfy the effective transmission capacity of 20Mbps. Using Markov model, the reliability of SPLC is analyzed, and assessed. To have the reasonable reliability such as the mean time to failure (MTTF) more than 10,000 hours, the failure rate of each SPLC module should be less than $2{\times}10^{-5}$/hour. When the fault coverage factor (FCF) is increased by 0.1, the MTTF is improved by about 4 months, thus to enhance the MTTF effectively, it is needed that the diagnostic ability of each SPLC module should be strengthened. Also as the result of comparison the SPLC and the existing safety grade PLCs, the reliability and MTTF of SPLC is up to 1.6-times and up to 22,000 hours better than the existing PLCs.
Radio frequency identification (RFID) sensor tag provides several advantages including battery-less operation and low cost, which are suitable for long-term monitoring. This paper presents a self-powered RFID temperature sensor tag for online temperature monitoring in substation. The proposed sensor tag is used to measure and process the temperature of high voltage equipments in substation, and then wireless deliver the data. The proposed temperature sensor employs a novel phased-locked loop (PLL)-based architecture and can convert the temperature sensor in frequency domain without a reference clock, which can significantly improve the temperature accuracy. A two-stage rectifier adopts a series of auxiliary floating rectifier to boost its gate voltage for higher power conversion efficiency. The sensor tag chip was fabricated in TSMC $0.18{\mu}m$ 1P6M CMOS process. The measurement results show that the proposed temperature sensor tag achieve a resolution of $0.15^{\circ}C$/LSB and a temperature error of $-0.6/0.7^{\circ}C$ within the range from $-30^{\circ}C$ to $70^{\circ}C$. The proposed sensor tag achieves maximum communication distance of 11.8 m.

Automatic fall-detection algorithms using video-data are proposed. Six types of fall-feature parameters are defined applying the optical flows extracted from differential images to principal component analysis(PCA). One fall-detection algorithm is the simple threshold method that a fall is detected when a fall-feature parameter is over a threshold, another is to use the HMM, and the other is to combine the simple threshold and HMM. Comparing the performances of three types of fall-detection algorithm, the algorithm combining the simple threshold and HMM requires less computational resources than HMM and exhibits a higher accuracy than the simple threshold method.

The purpose of this paper is to better understand the socio-economic differentials of Internet access and use. Data from '2008 Korean Internet usage behavior' were used to conduct logistic regression analysis. The findings show that there are significant socio-economic(age, gender, educational attainment, employment situation, and Internet access type) disparity in Internet access(Internet access at home, broadband Internet access). Also socio-economic variables enter in as statistically significant in most specifications for Internet use intensity (Intensive internet use, frequent internet use, less frequent internet use). The gender, household income and education attainment explanations for large differential in Internet use intensity are generally very similar. It is shown that age, education attainment and household income level cause a large digital divide on Internet service use(information use, communication and community use, e-commerce use, Internet banking use).
