회전교차로 측면충돌 사고모형 개발 (Developing the Sideswipe Accident Model at Roundabouts)

  • This study deals with the roundabout accidents. The goal of this study is to develop the sideswipe accident models at roundabout. In the pursuing the above, this study gives particular attentions to collecting the data of geometric structure and accidents of 54 roundabouts in Korea and developing the Poisson and negative binomial regression models. The main results are as follows. First, sideswipe accident is analyzed to be the highest frequency that is 39.5% of total accident data. Second, Poisson models which is statistically significant is developed. Finally, traffic volume per approach($X_1$), number of circulatory roadway($X_3$), operation of parking lot($X_4$) and width of circulatory roadway($X_6$) are adopted as the common variables. This study might be expected to give some implications to the accident research on the roundabout.

  • Construction performance and productivity improvement are key focus areas in construction industry for any nation. There have been frequent delays and cost overruns in construction projects and poor productivity is one of the major contributions. For this reasons, there have been many research studies performed on the improvement of construction productivity for several decades. However, measuring productivity on a construction job site is still not an easy work. Because collecting reliable data consistently from the job site requires a lot of personnel efforts causing extra time and cost. This paper provides a basic study on the application of image processing technology for measuring unit productivity. It presented the possibility of unit productivity measurement by image processing technology through case study.

국내 국도변 비탈면 현황 분석 연구 (A Study on conclusion about inventory survey on cut slope along national roads in Korea)

  • Inventory survey is process collecting data about cut slope. It's different from inspection. It contains not only basic information about cut slope, especially location, GPS positioning, height, length, weathering, joint direction, water conditions but also level of danger and damage. Collected data are being used get at status about cut slope along national roads. And It helps judging about priority of detailed investigation. According to results of analysis, we found better method about maintenance of cut slope. Later on, if inventory research is finished, we will understand characteristics of collapse slopes.

  • Sea-ports in Northern Vietnam have experienced a rapid growth of container throughput volume in recent years. To accompany with such development, huge investments also have been performed to enhance local ports capacity. It becomes a crucial task for the port authorities or the port stevedoring industry to improve the ports efficiency in order to customize national resources. In this paper, Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) is employed to evaluate the relative efficiency of container terminals in Northern Vietnam by collecting data from terminals since 2005 up to now. The development progress of the given terminals will be presented before providing a relative comparison among those year by year. The DEA result is then analyzed and suggestions with regard to changes in local economic environment in near future are contributed.

Study on Origin and Phylogeny Status of Hu Sheep

  • Applying simple random sampling in typical colony methods in the central area of habitat, 14 structural loci and 31 alleles in blood enzyme and other protein variations of Hu sheep population are examined. After collecting the same data of 11 loci about the 22 sheep colonies in China and other countries, it clusters the 23 sheep populations by fuzzy cluster analysis. The study proves that the phylogenetic relationship between Hu sheep population and Mongolia populations is relatively closed. This result obtained is shown to conform to the historical data.

  • This paper presents a method of incorporating weather effects in KEPCO systems reliability evaluation. The effects of adverse weather on composite power system FOR(Forced Outage Rate) increase considerably as the proportion of outages in adverse weather increases. It is therefore important to establish suitable and practical procedures for collecting adverse weather data which can be utilized in realistic KEPCO systems reliability assessment. The modeling procedure proposed in this paper also provides a realistic FOR in KEPCO systems using real historical data.

A Mathematical model to estimate the wind power using three parameter Weibull distribution

  • Weibull distribution is a suitable distribution to use in modeling the life time data. It has been found to be a exact fit for the empirical distribution of the wind speed measurement samples. In brief this paper consist of important properties and characters of Weibull distribution. Also we discuss the application of Weibull distribution to wind speed measurements and derive an expression for the probability distribution of the power produced by a wind turbine at a fixed location, so that the modeling problem reduces to collecting data to estimate the three parameters of the Weibull distribution using Maximum likelihood Method.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate predictors of violent behavior by patient or caregiver of patient in the emergency department. Methods: Subjects of the study were 447 residents who have visited the emergency department in community P Metropolitan City during the past year. The data collecting period was from June 1, 2012 to August 31, 2012. Data was collected using self-reported questionnaires. Results: Predictors of violent behavior in the emergency department were divided into personal and institutional factors. Personal factors included relationship with patients, presence of alcohol, reports of discontent during and past treatment and responses to deterioration in patient's conditions, institution factors included perceived attitudes toward medical workers' explanations and proficiency of medical workers, and delay in medical treatment hours. Conclusion: Knowledge of personal and institutional factors may permit emergency staff to minimize or prevent potential violence in the emergency department.

LEACH Protocol based WSN Protocol using Fuzzy

  • A wireless sensor network is a network in which nodes equipped with sensors capable of collecting data from the real world are configured wirelessly. Because the sensor nodes are configured wirelessly, they have limited power such as batteries. If the battery of the sensor node is exhausted, the node is no longer usable. If more than a certain number of nodes die, the network will not function. There are many wireless sensor network protocols to improve energy efficiency, among which LEACH Protocol is a typical example. The LEACH protocol is a cluster-based protocol that divides sensor space into clusters and transmits and receives data between nodes. Therefore, depending on how the cluster is structured, the shape of the energy cow may decrease or increase. We compare the network lifetimes of the existing LEACH protocols and the three types of protocols that have been improved using fuzzy methods for cluster selection.
