Three types of solar grain dryers, namely , the solar grain bin dryer, the solar greenhouse rotary drum dryer and small scale solar green house tray dryer, have been tested. The results showed that each type of solar grain dryer has its feature. These solar drying units have three main advantages : (1) Required commercial energy to remove 1Kg moist from rough rice is only 5.3% to 15.8% of the energy consumed by common heated dryer : 2) The area of solar drying system is only about 10% of the area of the sunny ground to give equal drying capacity ; (3) There are good drying quality in the moisture uniform , germination percentage, and grain color.

We present a high-resolution van Leer-type numerical scheme for the isentropic model of fluid flows in a nozzle with variable cross-section. Basically, the scheme is an improvement of the Godunov-type scheme. The scheme is shown to be well-balanced, as it can capture exactly equilibrium states. Numerical tests are conducted which include comparisons between the van Leer-type scheme and the Godunov-type scheme. It is shown that the van Leer-type scheme achieves a very good accuracy for initial data belong to both supersonic and supersonic regions, and the exact solution eventually possesses a resonant phenomenon.

Peer-to-Peer (P2P) overlay networks have drawn much research interest in the past few years because they provide a good substrate for large-scale applications in the Internet. In this paper, we introduce the use of anycast, a new "one-to-one-of-many" communication method in the Internet, to solve the following common problems of P2P overlay networks: load-balancing, topology-awareness, system partitioning, and multi-overlay interconnection. We also give an analysis of the features and limitations of the recently deployed anycast infrastructures in the Internet for supporting P2P overlay networks.

In this paper, we present a mobile robot localization solution by using a Ubiquitous Vision System (UVS). The collective information gathered by multiple cameras that are strategically placed has many advantages. For example, aggregation of information from multiple viewpoints reduces the uncertainty about the robots' positions. We construct UVS as a multi-agent system by regarding each vision sensor as one vision agent (VA). Each VA performs target segmentation by color and motion information as well as visual tracking for multiple objects. Our modified identified contractnet (ICN) protocol is used for communication between VAs to coordinate multitask. This protocol raises scalability and modularity of thesystem because of independent number of VAs and needless calibration. Furthermore, the handover between VAs by using ICN is seamless. Experimental results show the robustness of the solution with respect to a widespread area. The performance in indoor environments shows the feasibility of the proposed solution in real-time.

Wireless network technologies are becoming more widely used in industrial environment. The industrial communication system requires a real-time delivery of messages. The sensors periodically senses the physical environment and wants to deliver the data in real-time to the sink. This paper proposes a real-time protocol for periodic messages on wireless sensor and actor networks to be used in industrial communications. The proposed protocol delivers the data message using the shortest path from the source and the nearest actor. The protocol considers the energy consumption by reducing the number of broadcast messages during flooding. We have evaluated the performance of the proposed protocol using QualNet simulator. The simulation results show that the data messages have been delivered in real-time and the number of broadcast messages is reduced from 90% to 35% compared the existing protocols.

A number of thioflavones has been synthesized and evaluated for their iNOS inhibitory activities. Thiowogonin (6) was obtained from naturally occurring chrysin in 5 steps. Other thioflavones were prepared from the corresponding flavones in a single step by the reaction with Lawesson's reagent. The biological activities of thioflavones were not enhanced by the functional group conversion from carbonyl to thiocarbonyl. Compounds 11 and 13 showed potent. NO inhibitory activity at high concentration (40 uM), leading to the possible development of novel neuroprotective agents based on wogonin.

The intracellular localizations of polyamines and their related enzymes were investigated from young spinach leaves. Polyamines were present in all parts of plant cells, both in the subcellular organelles and in the soluble fraction of cytoplasm, however, polyamines were mainly located in the cytosolic fraction. Most activities of L-arginine decarboxylase(ADC) and L-ornithine decarboxylase(ODC), two important enzymes of putrescine and polyamine biosynthesis, were detected in cytosol fraction, while in subcellular organelles the activities were very low. Activities of diamine oxidase(DAO) and polyamine oxidase(PAO), the catabolic enzyme of diamine and polyamine, were not detected in spinach leaves. It was suggested that polyamines and their related synthetic enzymes were located in the soluble fraction of cytoplasm.

A promising solution to protect wired Internet networks is to use the Secure Internet Protocol (IPSec); however, this has some drawbacks, particularly on the quality of service (QoS). This paper aims at evaluating the video traffic QoS in terms of end-to-end delay and packet loss rate. Based on some basic assumptions, our analysis shows that the performance with IPSec is rapidly inferior to the IPv4 performance. We thus suggest adding some QoS parameters into IPSec in order to achieve a compromise between QoS and security.

In this paper, we devised pulse rate diagnosis for provide basic index of cold-hot diagnosis. The system consist of database part and pulse rate detection part for detection pulse wave, respiration and ECG. The database is constructed windwos95 platform using DAO(data access object). Search algorithm used ISAM algorithm. The database consist of one's information and medical report for a subject and detected pulse wave.

The In2S3 thin films of tetragonal structure and In2O3 films of cubic structure were synthesized by a spin coating method from the organometallic compound precursor triethylammonium indium thioacetate ($[(Et)_3NH]^+[In(SCOCH_3)_4]^-$; TEA-InTAA). In order to determine the electron mobility of the spin-coated TEA-InTAA films, thin film transistors (TFTs) with an inverted structure using a gate dielectric of thermal oxide ($SiO_2$) was fabricated. These devices exhibited n-channel TFT characteristics with a field-effect electron mobility of $10.1cm^2V^{-1}s^{-1}$ at a curing temperature of $500^{\circ}C$, indicating that the semiconducting thin film material is applicable for use in low-cost, solution-processed printable electronics.
