The effects of Hyangbujapalmultang on the enhancement of learning and memory of AD model rats were studied with Morris water maze. Sample group was electrolytically lesioned on nucleus basalis of Meynert(nbM), and then daily treated with the medicine for two months. Control group with nbM lesion, and sham group with the sham operation were treated the vehicle for the same duration. The following results were observed. 1. As the learning trials of Morris water maze were proceeded, sham group showed the escape latency from $54.7{\pm}2.28$ seconds in 1st trial to $13.3{\pm}3.27$ seconds in 7th. The control group showed the escape latency from $58.0{\pm}1.78$ seconds in 1st trial to $51.3{\pm}3.52$ seconds in 7th. The sample group showed the escape latency from $57.0{\pm}2.21$ seconds in 1st trial to $28.4{\pm}4.82$ seconds in 7th. Therefore, these data shows that all three groups were improved in learning capacity as trials were proceeded, but the sample group showed more prominent improvement in learning compared with the control group(p<0.05). 2. In memory retention test of Morris water maze that counts the staying time in the target area during 30 seconds of freely swimming period, sham group stayed for $4.81{\pm}1.15$ seconds, the control group stayed for $1.27\pm}0.78$ seconds, and the sample group stayed for $4.17{\pm}1.47$ seconds. The analysis of the memory retention data shows that the sample group marked more improvement in memory retention compared with the control group, but could not obtained statistically significant result(p<0.05). With the experimental results above, Hyangbujapalmultang can be supposed to have the improving effects on the learning of AD model rats induced by electrolytic lesion of nbM.

Following conclusions were derived from researching various consumption caused after surgical operation. The meaning of surgery in HyungSang medical point of view is a big flaw of the original configuration. Therefore meaning, the loss of container to store something. Changes of the body after surgery can be formation of stagnated blood and abnormal cyst of the removed part and entangled undigested food and stagnant blood. After surgery when the symptoms become chronic or the patients develop side effects as they age, consumption and aging process begins. HyungSang medical treatments of consumption caused after surgery are the followings. We should prevent aging of the framework by using appropriate medication to make up for faults in Gall Bladder, Bladder type and six meridian type by considering its form, color, pulse and symptoms. Stability of emotion that can endure various mental stimulation is needed. Prevent stagnation, indigestion, obstruction and numbness by smoothing up the constructive energy and the defensive energy in the operated part. The Heart and Kidney should be under control and Stomach and Spleen should be reinforced so that food intake is accelerated and produce vital substances and Ki and blood. Eum blood and Yang Ki should circulate around the body well. Examine daily life and if small changes in skin complexion, appetite, sleep and excretion occur, also difference in adaptation of external stimulation and mental health occurs immediate treatment and care is necessary. Treatment of side-effects caused from both aging process and post-surgery in HyungSang's view point is considered better than other ways of treatment and will contribute in expanding the field of medical science.

A Study was made to improve soil and water temperature and mechanized farming for a wetted paddy under the influence of artesian groundwater located at Samcheon-Dong, Chuncheon City, Kangweon Province. Half perforated PVC drainage pipes were installed in the test paddy to observe temperature change of water and soil. The temperature of the water in the paddy and soil itself raised significantly after the installation of the half perforated PVC pipes. A subsequent improvement of growth and yield of rice on the paddy was achieved. Harvesting operation was also improved with firm ground condition so that cutting and threshing could be done simultaneously within the paddy plot. Following results were obtained from the study. 1.Temperature of the water in a paddy under the influence of artesian groundwater was not changed notably although air temperature was fluctuated during the crop period. Soil temperature was mostly affected by the artesian groundwater. However, the half perforated PVC pipe drainage system made it possible to raise temperature of water and soil remarkably up to the level of optimum farming. 2.Total precipitation was 534.Omm during the crop period of the paddy for 118 days from May 26 to September 20 in 1992. Due to heavy rainfalls of 105.6mm and 109.8mm occurred on August 7 and August 27.1992, respectively, the rate of the artesian groundwater increased to 35 litter per minute with two to three days of time lag. 3.Average rate of the artesian groundwater was 28 litter per minute from the one year of observation. The rate varied by 0.7 to 1.3 times of average during the observation period. Peak rate of the artesian groundwater decreased to 14.5 litter per minute when daily precipitation maintained at the amount of 20 to 30mm for a long time period. Contrarily, it showed a tendency to increase to 35 to 40 litter per minute when heavier precipitation of 50 to l00mm occurred in a short period of three to five days. 4.Growth and yield of Yemyung variety of rice planted on the paddy that was facilitated with a drainage system with half perforated PVC pipes were confirmed at a normal level, while paddy without this perporated drainage system showed abnormal growth with low yield.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of specialized thematic science club activities on the students' scientific attitudes. The subjects of this study were ninety students from two high schools in Korea. The study group consisted of forty experimental groups and forty six science clubs with no special topics. The mean, standard deviation, t-value, and significance were compared with the corresponding sample t-test. First, specialized thematic science club activities showed positive effects on students' scientific attitude. Although the average scores of the scientific attitudes of the experiment group and the control group were improved before the operation of the club, the increase of the experimental group which operated the specialized topic was larger than that of the control group and there was a statistically significant difference. In the analysis of sub-elements of scientific attitude, the increase of the experimental group was larger than that of the control group. There were no statistically significant results in the control group, but the experimental group showed significant differences in openness, creativity, and cooperativeness among the subordinate factors of scientific attitude. Second, to investigate the effects of the specialized thematic science club activities on the scientific attitude in school, family, and social situations solving the problems of daily life as well as solving the science problems, there was no significant difference within the group, but there was a statistically significant difference between the experimental group with the specialized topic and the home and school situation. This result indicated that the scientific attitudes required to solve problems in the home and school have improved positively.

ICT convergence using smart livestock is that in the first-generation dairy smart farm model, each device made by several manufacturers uses its own communication method, limiting the mutual operation of each device. This study uses a model based on open control technology to secure interoperability of existing ICT devices and to manage data efficiently. The open integrated control derived from this process is the software interface structure of Open API. It is an observer that serves as real-time data collection according to the communication method of ICT devices and sensors located at each end. It consists of a broker that connects and transmits to the upper integrated management server. As a result of the performance analysis through verification of two first-generation dairy smart farm model sites, the average daily milk production increased compared to the previous year (farm A 5.13%, farm B 1.33%, p<0.05). Cow days open (DO) was reduced by 17.5% on farm A and 13.3% for farm B(p<0.05). Cows require an adaptation period after the introduction of the ICT device, but if continuous effects are observed, the effect of production can be expected to increase gradually.
With economic development and ever-changing technology, human has entered the era of "Product-as-a-Service". At the same time, the update of the product gradually accelerated. The demand of consumers for products are slowly changed, they pay more attention to convenience, comfort and reliable quality and safety of the product. That is the humanized design problem that often mentioned in the product design. This also put forward new requirements for the design and development of product modeling. So how to reflect the humanized ideas in the product design has also become common focus of attention of product designers, users and producers of a new era. The paper is based on the principles of ergonomics to investigate and improve the daily life utensil - flashlight. Firstly, make a sample survey of the flashlight in Beijing market and analyze the characteristics and problems of flashlight products. Secondly, explore the use of the flashlight and proposed Flashlight curved grip design to reduce the occurrence of wrist discomfort and damage to the body caused by poor posture of the operation of users. Finally, determine the range of the length and width of the body of the flashlight according to the length and width measurement data of the Chinese palm. Wishing that the improvements of flashlight products in ergonomics can improve use of feelings of these products and give a theoretical guidance for solving similar problems.
Since inaccurate demand estimation for recent urban rail construction may result in financial burden to cities, precise prediction for operating cost as well as construction costs is necessary to avoid or reduce budget loss of the local or central government. The operating cost is directly related to the public fare and affect a policy to determine the rate system. Therefore, there is a pressing need to develop an estimating model for reliable operating cost of urban railway. This study introduces a new model to estimate the operating cost with new variables. It provides a better prediction in accuracy and reliability compared to the existing model, considering the feature of urban railway. For verification of our model, railway operation data from a few cities for the last five years were comprehensively examined to determine variables that affect the operating cost. The operating cost was estimated in a dummy regression model using five independent variables, which were average distance between stations, daily trains distance, total passenger capacity of a train in a train, driving mode(manned/unmanned), and investment type(financial/private).

Background: The adrenergic nervous system in the spinal cord contributes to the development of neuropathic pain after nerve injury. Brain derived neurotrophic factor may facilitate the sympathetic change in the spinal cord and influence the state of neuropathic pain. We probed the effect of chronic repetitive administration of systemic 4-methylcatechol, which is known to be a neurotrophic factor inducer, in a spinal nerve ligation model. Methods: We made the rat neuropathic pain model by the ligation of the L5 spinal nerve. Intraperitoneal 4-methylcatechol ($10{\mu}g/kg$) or the same volume of saline wasadministrated twice daily just after the operation for 7 days. The tactile allodynia was measured by using von Frey filaments and its change was followed up from 3 days after SNL. The lumbosacral enlargement of the spinal cord was taken out and the mRNA contents of the ${\alpha}_2-adrenoceptor$ subtypes were measured by real time polymerase chain reaction and this was then compared with the control groups. The antiallodynic effect of intrathecal clonidine (3, 10, $30{\mu}g$) was evaluated and compared in the 4-methylcatechol treated rats and the control rats. Results: The expression of the ${\alpha}_{2A}$ and ${\alpha}_{2C}$ adrenoceptor subtypes did not change after 4-methylcatechol treatment. Intrathecal clonidine showed an earlier and better effect at the highest dose ($30{\mu}g$ intrathecal), but not with any other doses. Conclusions: Chronic intraperitoneal administration of 4-methylcatechol may improve the effect of intrathecal clonidine, but we could not prove the increase of ${\alpha}_{2A}$ and ${\alpha}_{2C}$ adrenoceptors in the spinal cord of 4-methylcatechol treated rats.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usefullness of polarus nailing in the treatment of proximal humerus fractures including 2 part, 3 part and proximal comminuted fractures. Materials and methods: Fifteen cases of proximal humerus fracture treated with Polarus nailing from March, 2002 to March, 2004 were selected. Man was 3 cases, and woman was 11 cases. There were one case of follow up loss due to decease. Average age was 60 years old (range, 23 to 84), and there were 6 cases of 2 part fracture, 3 cases of proximal segmental fracture, 5 cases of 3 part fracture. We analyzed the outcom results between 2 part fracture and 3 part fracture. The average follow up period after the operation was 1.5(range, 1 to 2) years. Range of motion (ROM), pain and functional outcome were evaluated by visual analogue scale(VAS) and american shoulder and elbow surgery (ASES) activity of daily living (ADL) functional scoring system. Results: All cases showed union on radiologic evaluation, with 2.3 months follow up. In 5 cases of 3 part fracture, average union time was 1.9 months regardless of proximal screw loosening in 4 cases. In 2 part fracture union time was 2.2 months (P>0.05). VAS pain score was 1.3, ROM was $160^{\circ}$ in forward flexion, $40^{\circ}$ in external rotation, L3 level in internal rotation, and ASES, ADL functional score was 21 in 2 part fracture. VAS pain score was 1.25, ROM was $160^{\circ}$, $43^{\circ}$ and L1 level, and ASES, ADL functional score was 21 in 3 part fracture. There were no statistically significant difference between two groups (P>0.05) VAS pain score was 1.6, ROM was $170^{\circ}$, $47^{\circ}$ and L3 level, and ASES, ADL functional score was 23 in proximal comminuted fracture. Conclusion: Polarus nailing could be used as an effective modality in certain cases of proximal humeral fracture including 2 part, proximal segmental and in cases of 3 part fractures with large greater tuberosity fragment.
Purpose: This study reports the clinical results of the tenodesis of long head of the Biceps brachii tendon with bioabsorbable interference screw by minimal open procedure. Materials and Methods: Ten cases of 10 patients (7 male, 3 female) were included in this study. The average age was 45.8 years old and the average period from the symptom onset to operation was 13.7 months. Average preoperative ASES score was 38.5. The causes of injury was; sports activities in 4 patients, unknown in 4 patients, industrial accident in 1 patient and traffic accident in 1 patient. The average follow up period was 12.1 months. Tenodesis with bioabsorbable interference screw by minimal open precedure was performed in all cases. Results: The ASES score improved to 87.5 at last follow up period and 6 cases had full range of motion of the shoulder. 4 cases had mild limited range of motion of the shoulder without any problem in normal daily activity. Conclusion: It was assumed that tenodesis of long head of the biceps brachii tendon with bioabsorbable interference screw by minimal open precedure was one of the good methods with good clinical results.
