For the adsorption of polyelectrolyte at the surface of polyacrylamide gel particle, preferential adsorption of the large polyelectrolyte such as DNA is governed by the surface area of an adsorbent. The adsorption equilibrium constant can be varied by surface geometry of porous polymer, and it can be described as a function of ionic strength and surface area. Physical parameters affecting the adsorption were estimated using the theoretical governing equation of polyelectrolyte which electrophoretically moved along the column, and geometrical surface area was estimated by Waldman-Mayer's physical model. The separation of polyelectrolytes was studied using the physical parameters estimated by ionic strength and surface geometry.

N-(fluorodichlomethylthio) phthalimide-silver complexes were prepared and investigated the antimicrobial activity on rubber mat manufactured with waste rubber. We are exposed to harmful bacteria and fungi all the time. We manufactured antimicrobial mat to be imposed to mats that it can prevent generation of bacteria and microorganisms, and restrict their reproduction. Infection of medical devices causes significant morbidity and mortality. For aim of this study, we measured the antimicrobial mat manufactured with N-(fluorodichlomethylthio) phthalimide-Ag complex by CCD, FT-IR and NMR. The effect of mole ratio of N-(fluorodichlomethylthio) phthalimide-Ag complex on antibacterial activity to bacteria and fungi is investigated. Reduction rate is evaluated using the Quinn method. Escherichia Coli is effectively inhibited than Staphylococcus aureus by antimicrobial mat.

Perceptibility and acceptability are the most often used threshold units in the field of color science. The former refers to a just perceptible difference and the latter evokes a tolerable color difference. Such thresholds can be very significant to color quality control processes in the printing industry and should be defined in quality measure units. Optical density (OD) and color difference models are usually utilized as color quality measures and have been provided in a considerable number of commercial measuring devices such as spectrophotometers. However, their merits and traits are far less understood in the literature. The present study intends to evaluate performance of those color quality measures including the OD and widely known color difference models, e.g. ${\Delta}E{^*}_{ab}$, ${\Delta}E_{CMC(l:c)}$ and ${\Delta}E{^*}_{00}$. A set of psychophysical assessments were carried out in order to accumulate the perceptibility and acceptability thresholds data, and their central trend was compared with the color quality measure estimates.

In this study, colorimetric characteristics of a 2.2-inch iriver MP4 based upon OLED was evaluated and compared with another MP4 based upon Liquid Crystal Display (LCD). According to IEC61966-4, the two displays were tested in terms of spectral power distribution, tone reproduction curve (TRC), luminance, contrast, correlated color temperature, 2D color gamut and spatial uniformity. Consequently, the OLED showed better performance for the first four aspects but a similar quality was observed for the rest.

Soft tissue tumors of the foot have a low incidence rate, and most of them are symptom free, thus it is difficult to diagnose accurately. Herein, we report a 15-year-old male patient who had swelling without pain on the lateral margin of both feet. We performed excisional biopsy of the abductor digiti minimi via subtotal resection, following radiograph and magnetic resonance imaging. According to the histological analysis, hypertrophy of abductor digiti minimi was positive, and other soft tissue tumors were negative. Six months after the operation, normal appearance of both feet was maintained and the patient was satisfied with the result.

Up to now, various continuous-processing systems are used in the various industrial applications such as textile machines, iron-manufacturing plants, paper-making machines, printing machines, and so on. 전기철도에서 전차선은 차량에 직접 전력을 공급하는 설비로서 철도차량 운행 시 전차선의 사고를 예방하는 것은 매우 중요하다. 본 논문은 한국과 영국의 전기철도 전차선로의 안전성을 비교하기 위하여 영국의 전차선 안전성 분석 보고서와 한국의 전차선의 장애사례에 대한 데이터를 검토하였다. 분석한 데이터는 Fault Tree Analysis(FTA) 알고리즘에 적용하여 시스템의 신뢰도를 산정하는데 사용하였다. 이를 통해 전기철도 급전시스템의 사고율을 산정하여 각 요소별 및 전체 시스템의 신뢰도를 산정할 수 있었으며, 이는 유지보수주기 결정, 교체필요 요소의 결정 등에 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.

This paper presents the electronic ballast for the metal halide lamp with free voltage input and implemented for CDM-T[150W] lamp. HID lamps have a good color rendition, long life and good focusing capability but they have fickers by acoustic resonance when driven at high frequency. To reduce the acoustic resonance phenomena, the electronic ballast was designed for high frequency operation with the constant frequency sinusoidal wave of 75[kHz]. Finally, the experimental results on the ballast of CDM-T [150W]metal halide lamp with the propose methods are discussed.

Tone reproduction characteristics of color and gray have a great influence on the picture quality in visual display. In this study, we optimized tone reproduction characteristics of color and gray of CRT monitor by setting brightness to the optimum level, in which offsets for RGB channels can be assumed to zero. The optimum brightness level could be found by measuring a few tones of neutral for the combination of 2 levels of brightness and 2 levels of contrast. As the result, the relationship between normalized DAC count and normalized luminance of primary color or gray has been simply presented by gamma and result in good phosphor constancy.

The temperature changes are very important in improving the accuracy of the load forecasting during the summer. It is because the cooling load in summer contribute to the increasing of the load. This paper proposes a weekend load forecasting algorithm using the temperature change characteristic in a summer of Jeju. The days before and after weekends in Jeju, when the load curves are quite different from those of normal weekdays. The temperature change characteristic are obtained by using weekends peak load and high temperature data. And load forecasted based on the sensitivity between unit temperature changes and load variations. Load forecast data with better accuracy are obtained by using the proposed temperature changes than by using the ordinary daily peak load forecasting. The method can be used to reduce the error rate of load forecast.
