Human Disabled-2 (Dab2) is a candidate tumor suppressor gone that regulates cell growth by c-Fos suppression in normal cells. In many cancer cells, Dab2 expression is lost or greatly diminished in $\∼85\%$ of the breast and ovarian cancers. In this study, we have examined the methylation status of CpG island on Dab2 gene promoter using bisulfite-assisted genomic sequencing and methylation specific PCR (MSP) method in human breast cancer cell line, MDA MB-231 cells. In normal human uterus endometrial cells, Dab2 was completely unmethylated. In contrast, Dab2 was methylated on CpG dinucleotides near the TATA_ box in MDA MB-231 cells. following MDA MB-231 cells by treatment with 5-azacytidine, Dab2 gene were demethylated and reexpressed. Result of this study suggested that silencing of Dab2 gene is correlated to CpG island methylation in human breast cancer cell line, MBA MD-231 cells.

Proper design guides are proposed for a practical dual-active bridge (DAB) converter based on the mathematical model on the steady state. The DAB converter is popular in bidirectional application due to its zero-voltage capability and easy bidirectional operation for seamless control, high efficiency, and performance. Some design considerations are taken to overcome the limitation of the DAB converter. The practical design methodology of power stage is discussed to minimize the conduction and switching losses of the DAB converter. Small-signal model and frequency response are derived and analyzed based on the generalized average method, which considers equivalent series resistance, to improve the dynamics, stability, and reliability with voltage regulation of the practical DAB converter. The design of closed-loop control is discussed by the derived small-signal model to obtain the pertinent gain and phase margin in steady-state operation. Experimental results of a 3.3 kW prototype of DAB converter demonstrate the validity and effectiveness of the proposed methods.
The IBAC (In-Band Adjacent-Channel) DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) system is to provide multichannel CD quality audio services and multimedia data services including text and picture in FM band (88~105 MHz). As the FM band is being used by the existing analog radio broadcasting, there must he an analysis of the interference effect between IBAC DAB and analog FM signal. Therefore, the protection ratio should be evaluated to verify the system compatibility and allocate the new IBAC DAB channel in FM band. In this paper, among the three types of interferences, FM-to-DAB, DAB-to-FM and DAB-to-DAB, that can be occurred, the Protection ratio of IBAC DAB system for co-channel FM interferer is analyzed by modeling the FM interferer and considering the multipath fading channel. The simulation results show that IBAC DAB system has far better sensitivity than Eureka 147 and needs a relatively high protection ratio for co-channel FM interferer, because of its narrow bandwidth, about one third of that of Eureka 147.
DAB is meeting with mixed success. Denmark is performing similarly to the UK thanks to the innovation of the public broadcaster but where DAB is not so strong, the problem can usually be pointed at the lack of enabling regulation. The UK's example, whilst not appropriate everywhere, has valuable lessons including licensing incentives for existing analogue commercial broadcasters and a market-building obligation on the national multiplex licensee. Despite the obvious success of DAB, it would be an omission to leave some of the continued criticisms unanswered, whether of its slow start or the underlying technology. True, there was much over-optimism in the mid-1990s, coupled with unrealistic promises and expectations of receiver pricing and consumer take-up. Governments across Europe have legislated for DAB digital radio in a variety of ways but few as successfully as the UK. It is essential that both public and private broadcasters are encouraged equally to participate in digital radio. The UK is fortunate because, for the last 10 years, there has been a progressive government policy towards digital broadcasting. The 1996 Broadcasting Act set out a full licensing regime for both digital television and digital radio. The 1996 UK legislation contained a number of key elements which have been cornerstones of its success. DAB digital radio began test broadcasting around ten years ago but it has not been a universal consumer success across Europe. In the UK, however, digital radio receivers are one of the fastest-selling consumer electronics products and sales have overtaken those of analogue radios. Why has the UK succeeded with DAB digital radio when other European countries have yet to see their markets take off? This article explains what steps the UK took to make DAB digital radio a success.
The IBAC DAB system was interfered by existing FM broadcasting signal as was used guardband within existing FM broadcasting. The FM interference signals are very important parameter in performance evaluation of IBAC DAB system. We got the characteristic of FM PSD in according to instantaneous change and average characteristic of FM broadcasting signal in according to characteristic of FM channel. In this paper, based on proposed IBAC DAB system, we analyze effects of FM interference for occupied bandwidth and performance of IBAC DAB modeling various FM interference signals with sum of sinusoid function using C language, suggest FM interference ratio that can maintain performance. We was know that IBAC DAB system have a great performance variation in according to average characteristic of FM PSD by simulation results, also, FM interference ration that can maintain performance of system is 10dB.

The digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) system adopts Coded OFDM(COFDM) for channel coding. The COFDM is a combined technique of multicarrier transmission(OFDM) and punctured convolutional coding with viterbi error correction. Because the channel coding is an important topic for OFDM systems, this paper proposes a new turbo coded OFDM system that replaces the existing RCPC codec by a turbo codec without modifying the puncturing procedure and puncturing vectors defined in the standard DAB system for compatibility. The performance of a new system is compared to that of the conventional system under the frequency selective Rician fading channel and the frequency selective Rayleigh fading channel in conjunction with DAB transmission mode I suitable for the terrestrial single frequency network(SFN) broadcasting. The standard system's performance was improved with the aid of turbo codec.

Generally, DAB systems are divided into two categories, a stand-alone type and a PC/PDA-based type. The PC/PDA-based type has less mobility comparing to the stand-alone type, nevertheless, it has the advantage of using memory, audio/video decoder, or other resources of PC/PDA. The DAB receiver implemented in this paper is a PC-based receiver system employing USB interface. The USB interface bridge is designed using FPGA and EZ-USB development kit and the implemented DAB receiver adopts the bridge and makes use of the stand-alone typed DRK-026 receiver for experiments. The USB interface bridge transforms serial data into USB packets and all of related signals are controlled by hardware logics. The operation of the implemented DAB receiver is verified by sending audio data into the PC for decoding through USB interface bridge.

DAB(Digital audio broadcasting) is a next generation radio broadcasting system which provides CD quality audio, various data services and superior reception ability when moving. Also, it can show traffic informations and news literally or graphically. In this paper, we design and fabricate the DAB tuner for ITS service that follows Eureka-147 and ETSI 300 401 specifications. This small-sized tuner can be adopted to mny electronic equipments such as a Hi-Fi audio, DVD player, car audio system etc.. The overall performance of the tuner depends on a phase noise of VCO and the sensitivity of the receiving system is influenced by LNA, image rejection filter and channel selection filter. All our measurement results satisfy the specification for a DAB system with the return loss of 9dB, the noise figure of 6dB for both Band 111 and L-band and the sensitivity of -97dBm.
