Adsorption of Rare Earth Metal Ion on N-Phenylaza-15-Crown-5 Synthetic Resin with Styrene Hazardous Material

  • Resins were synthesized by mixing N-phenylaza-15-crown-5 macrocyclic ligand attached to styrene (2th petroleum in 4th class hazardous materials) divinylbenzene (DVB) copolymer with crosslink of 1%, 2%, 6%, and 12% by substitution reaction. The synthesis of these resins was confirmed by content of chlorine, element analysis, thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), surface area, and IR-spectroscopy. The effects of pH, equilibrium arrival time, dielectric constant of solvent and crosslink on adsorption of metal ions by the synthetic resin adsorbent were investigated. The metal ions were showed fast adsorption on the resins above pH 4. The optimum equilibrium time for adsorption of metallic ions was about two hours. The adsorption selectivity determined in ethanol was in increasing order uranium (VI) > zinc (II) > europium (III) ions. The uranium ion adsorbed in the order of 1%, 2%, 6%, and 12% crosslink resin and adsorption of resin decreased in proportion to the order of dielectric constant of solvents.

  • 본 논문은 디지털방송 환경에서 시청자가 적극적으로 스토리 전개에 개입하여 스토리라인을 바꿀 수 있는 복수의 스토리라인(multi-storyline)을 가지는 인터랙티브 프로그램의 구현을 목적으로 한다. 시청자는 방송을 시청하는 도중 리모콘으로 방송의 스토리전개를 선택할 수 있으며 이는 기존 아날로그방송에서는 불가능한 새로운 유형의 연동형 데이터방송 프로그램(enhanced service)이다. 이는 국내 디지털 위성방송 표준인 DVB-MHP방식으로 세계 최초로 구현한 것으로 이를 응용해 A/V방송제작자와 데이터방송 애플리케이션(application)제작자는 보다 다양한 연동형 데이터방송 프로그램을 기획, 제작할 수 있고 시청자는 기존의 방송에서 보지 못했던 새로운 시각적, 적극적인 시청 경험을 하게 된다.

  • 인터넷의 발달과 웹 어플리케이션의 활성화로 Internet Connected TV가 차지하는 비율이 점차 늘어나고, 스마트폰의 선풍적인 인기와 시장의 영향으로 디지털 TV에도 Smart TV의 바람이 불고 있다. Smart TV의 기술을 수신기 관점에서 살펴보았을 때, 방송과 웹이라는 두 가지 분야의 기술과 표준을 생각할 수 있다. 이에, 방송 분야에 대해서는 북미 ATSC 2.0, ATSC PT-3, 유럽 HbbTV 와 DVB-IPTV, 그리고 한국의 OHTV를 표준 관점에서 서비스 및 기술을 서로 비교하고, 다음으로 웹에 대한 기술과 표준화는 W3C의 HTML5, Web and TV 그리고 MPEG에서의 DASH를 살펴보기로 한다.

  • This paper presents return link demodulation algorithm designed for hardware implementation using HDL that include complex signal processing work reliably even in low SNR. Simulation results show that performance of Es/$N_0$ has improved within 0.5dB at the point of uncoded BER $10^{-3}$ compared to the ideal QPSK signal. In addition, fixed-point simulation and HDL implementation performance compared to the simulation we can see that there is no difference.

  • LDPC decoder architectures are generally classified into serial, parallel and partially parallel architectures. Conventional method of LDPC decoding in general give rise to a large number of computation operations, mass power consumption, and decoding delay. It is necessary to reduce the iteration numbers and computation operations without performance degradation. This paper studies Horizontal Shuffle Scheduling (HSS) algorithm. In the result, number of iteration is half than conventional algorithm without performance degradation. Finally, this paper present design methodology of high-speed LDPC decoder and confirmed its throughput is up to about 600Mbps.

  • In our previous publication, the problem of particle deformation and coagulation at the nucleation stage in the presence of cross-linker was intensely studied by seeded batch dispersion polymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA). In the present work, highly cross-linked, monodisperse PMMA particles were prepared under various reaction conditions by seeded semi-continuous process. Monodisperse, $6.5{\mu}m$-diameter PMMA particles containing up to 8 wt% of DVB or EGDMA were successfully made by seeded semi-continuous process and multi-semi-continuous addition process, respectively. Therefore, this study shows that seeded semi-continuous process is more effective and efficient to prepare highly cross-linked, monodisperse particles than non-seeded and seeded batch processes.

  • In the HDTV video codec, conventional the padding method of DEPA(DTV essential padding area) region is aimed at minimizing the redundant information to be transmitted. This article propose a method to transmit additional data by using DEPA region. The proposed method is effective for the channel and storage because it can reduce the amount of bits while preventing deterioration of image quality by inserting binary gray image blocks into the DEPA region. Additionally this algorithm can be used in various fields because it conforms to the standards of MPEG-2, ATSC, and DVB encoders.

  • Immobilization method of lariat azacrown ethers, containing hydroxyl group in the side arm of crown ring, on the polymer matrix and the phase-transfer catalytic activity of thus obtained immobilized lariat azacrown ethers were studied. Polystyrene resins with crown ether structures and hydroxyl groups adjacent to the macrorings were prepared by the reaction of crosslinked polystyrene resins containing epoxy groups with monoaza-15-crown-5 or monoaza-18-crown-6. Microporous crosslinked polystyrene resins containing epoxy group for the syntheses of these immobilized lariat crown catalysts were prepared by suspension polymerization of styrene, divinylbenzene (DVB 2%) and vinylbenzylglycidyl ether. The immobilized lariat catalysts with 10-20% ring substitution exhibited maximal activity for the halogen exchange reactions of 1-bromooctane with aqueous KI or NaI under triphase heterogeneous conditions. Immobilized catalyst exhibited higher activity than corresponding catalyst without the hydroxyl group and this result was suggested that the active site have a structure in which the $K^+$ ion was bound by the cooperative coordination of the crown ring donors and the hydroxyl group in the side arm.

  • Polymer bound 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-oximinopyrazoles were prepared through a series of chemical modifications of Merrifield's resin (chloromethylpolystyrene-$1{\%}$ DVB-copolymer). Several polymer active esters of N-blocked amino acids were prepared from the polymer bound 1-phenyl-3-methyl-4-oximinopyrazoles. Polymer bound active esters were found to be highly reactive in N-acylation reaction. The resins were tested for the preparation of several dipeptides. The peptides were obtained in high yields within 10 minutes and the progress of the reactions could be easily followed up by the color change of the resin. The resulting peptides were characterized by NMR and other physical methods.
