  • This papar describes an design and implementation of a rule builder, named SGML DTD(Document Type Definition) Editor conforming to ISO 8879(SGML : Standard Generalized Markup Language). SGML DTD define types of logical structure in documents and it is very hard to managing, operating with general common text editors because of it's complex structures. Therefore, We studied DTD automatic editor and production system, prototype system, direct operations on graphic trees in the environment of windows. It's easy to handle with general users. So, We analyzed the structures of document, and studied about SGML documents operation models. And also described logical structures by tree on Windows.

  • Two-way specification table for educational objectives proposed by B.S.Bloom, which is useful in reviewing and determining the objectives of instructions, is widely used in schools. However, differences in subject matters and school environments require various types of two-way specification table. Extensible markup language (XML) can be effectively applied for two-way specification table for educational objectives because it is well structured and the content of an XML document can be separated from its presentation. In this paper, the document type definition (DTD) for two-way specification table was designed. An example of XML document and XSL style sheet for the table were also presented. Furthermore, applications of the designed DTD were discussed. It is expected that the proposed DTD can be useful to various applications related to education assesment.

  • 인터넷의 비약적인 발전, 네트웍 인프라의 향상으로 인해 인터넷을 이용한 문서 처리는 날로 증가하고 있으며, 이 기종간의 문서 정보 교환 역시 계속해서 증가하고 있다. 또한 문서의 표현 방법 및 문서량의 증대로 사용자의 요구는 계속 다양해져 가고 있다. 기존의 웹에서 사용되고 있는 HTML(Hyper-Text Markup Language)의 경우 그 표현력의 한계 때문에 사용자가 직접 구조적인 문서를 생성할 수가 없었다. 이에 W3C에서 XML (eXtensible Markup Language)을 발표하여 사용자가 직접 논리적인 문서의 작성하는 것이 가능하도록 했다. 이러한 XML 문서의 논리적인 구조를 표현하기 위해서는 문서의 원형을 정의할 수 있는 DTD(Document Type Definition)가 필요하며, 본 논문은 이러한 XML 문서의 원형을 정의하기 위해 필요한 DTD를 보다 효율적이며 쉽게 작성할 수 있는 DTD 편집기의 구현 및 설계에 대하여 논술한다.

An Abstract Grammar for XML Document Editing (XML 문서 편집을 위한 추상문법)

  • A document type definition(DTD) which defines tags for a document is a XML document grammar that defines syntactic structure of a document. An XML document keeps the rules and must be parsed to check validation. To parse XML document, the deterministic parsing method of programming language is irrelevant because it does not satisfy the definition of deterministic content model in element declaration. In this paper, we consider editing of a valid XML document in syntax-directed editing environment, and we suggest the internal storage representations of syntax in DTD and theirs algorithms. The consequence is that a syntactic structure of textual DTD is transformed into graph and table structures. The table structure of DTD is interpreted the context free grammar which has attribute values and is used in syntax-directed editor for XML. We called this the XML abstract grammar and showed generated results and examples.

  • SGML(Standard Generalized Markup Language) and its application to full-text database including a table, a figure and a picture are explained. A structure of SGML based full-text database Is defined by DTD(document type definition) written in SGML, and full-text itself is described with generalized markup depending on DTD. This article explains how to represent a document structure : a hierarchical structure like a chapter, a section, or a paragraph, or non-hierarchical(referencial) structure like a note, a table, a figure or a picture. Merits of SGML, electronic publishing, a retrieval system or hypertext and SGML tools are also described.

  • This article is a study on methods of digitalization for older oriental books using XML (extensible Markup Language) proposed as a standard for Web documents by W3C in 1996. In this paper, to digitalize older books, 1 designed the XML DTD(Document Type Definition) for general older oriental books and input the texts of the older books on the basis of the XML DTD, examined the problems and limitations in light of the technical level these days, and established the model of the system for using XML files of older oriental books at a national level in the future.

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient method to describe and save Jeongganbo score which has various structures and symbols by using XML (Extensible Markup Language). To do this, analysis of Jeongganbo's structures, and classification of symbols for jeongganbo were preformed. Then, Jeongganbo DTD (Document Type Definition) was defined to describe Jeongganbo score in XML document. To verify the proposed method, we produced a Jeongganbo score XML file for real Jeongganbo score according to the proposed Jeongganbo DTD, and then evaluated the produced XML file by using Jeongganbo XML interpreter software which can interpret the Jeongganbo XML file and represent the Jeongganbo score.

  • In this paper, XML form generator is designed and implemented on the basis of e-business's DTD (Document Type Definition) document. Rapid evolving for internet services and information infrastructure give many impacts on the e-business, it need to make a new kinds of web-based or electronic-based document formats for e-business transaction trading. In current situations, there are many kinds of document formats on conventional business documents for each companies. And, it has many problems on the aspects of the document reusability and cost to support interoperability between documents for the trading partners. To solve this interoperability of documents, the constructed XML form generator is changing XML form document into HTML (HyperText Markup Language) based web document by XSLT. And it also generates XML business message validating for e-Business DTD by user Inputs.

  • Currently, DTD(Document Type Definition) Definition of Music score has been widely studied according to applications, and the methods of automatic transformation from defined DTD to XML Schema is in progress. In addition, studies of structure of DTD definition are focused on the expression of music information by individual format. In this paper, expression method of the music information by continuous string values is suggested using the fact that measure is basically a component of score, and XML Schema is also modelled. In addition, mechanism extracting the music information from XML instance which was expressed using the proposed method is presented. As a result, XML Schema taking the continuous string values could be defined, instance obtained by the proposed method results in increasing efficiency by simplicity of XPATH and reduction of search step compared to previous method. In addition, it is possible for human to make direct expression, and it is known that the instance size decreases.

  • In this paper, we proposed an efficient document conversion mechanism to provide a adaptive web document to mobile terminals. We also proposed a RHTML(Reduced HTML) to archive the adaptive tag reduction. Markup error correction process in the proposed adaptive document conversion mechanism converts a HTML(HyperText Markup Language) document into a XML(Extensible Markup Language) application document. This. process makes web document easy to handle with a DOM (Document Object Mode)) as the tree model and removes the hardware overhead in mobile terminals. Also, tag reduction process provides the adaptive web document with three DTD(Document Type Definition)s in the RHTML.
