  • Multiple CAS (Conditional Access System) could be safely downloaded and implemented in IPTV environment. Domestic standard of iCAS (Interchangeable CAS) which is providing device compatibility and mobility, can only defines CAS replacement for protecting Real-Time Streaming broadcast. CAS, however has limitations in IPTV's two-way communication environment where it needs to fulfill contents protection requirements of various broadcasting service. In order to supplement the limit of CAS, DRM protection technology should be required. Contents for real time broadcasting service or real time VOD service could be protected by CAS technology whereas services such as PVR, download VOD service or downloaded contents sharing could be protected by DRM technology. Therefore, a flexible IPTV device service environment could be constructed by mutual protection of CAS and DRM. This essay is going to research on the method of applying DRM based on iCAS standard, as well as proposing a system configuration applied with iCAS/DRM in commercialization.

  • Internet-based distribution of digital contents provides great opportunities for producers, distributors and consumers, but it may seriously threaten users' privacy. The Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems which one of the major issues, concern the protection of the ownership/copyright of digital content. However, the most recent DRM systems do not support the protection of the user's personal information. This paper examines the lack of privacy in DRM systems. We describe a privacy policy and user's privacy preferences model that protect each user's personal information from privacy violation by DRM systems. We allow DRM privacy agent to automatically negotiate between the DRM system policy and user's privacy preferences to be disclosed on behalf of the user. We propose an effective negotiation algorithm for the DRM system. Privacy rules are created following the negotiation process to control access of the user's personal information in the DRM system. The proposed privacy negotiation algorithm can be adapted appropriately to the existing DRM systems to solve the privacy problem effectively.

  • With the spread of computer and development of internet service, the varied contents and digital data has been produced, then provided. The digital contents are more efficiently able to be created, produced, provided as well as distributed, on the other hand, its own copyrights seem to be more easily broken than analogue contents due to the convenience to make copies of original contents. Therefore, protecting copyrights recently become the key issue. DRM(Digital Rights Management) is the current technology to protect digital contents from duplication but it sometimes causes problems in the key-management. In this thesis, we would first like to analyze DRM and find out some trouble in the key-management of it. Finally, we will show CDMS(CEK Distributed Management System) to improve DRM out of the key-management problem and continue to study for better key-management system with it.

The present paper protects a digital contents and a copyright from CDN system environments which will appear the center of new network service with the plan for the dispersive DRM system of CDN bases plans. Respect this dispersion DRM package formats which provide a stronger security characteristic in the contents which is stored the operational process of the dispersive DRM system for to be defined, CDN system and of existing interoperability they present.

  • Digital Broadcasting Services get abroad from satellite services to terrestrial services and cable services. As broadcasting services become digital from analog, diverse services such as multi-channel, high quality, time-shift function and so on can be possible. It also generates new digital businesses. The Conditional Access System(CAS) is a technology for providing prevention of illegal access to digital contents. It was applied to digital satellite services at Europe and America from the beginning of 90's. In 2002, a domestic digital satellite service provider adopt a CAS system to their broadcasting services. DRM technologies protect intellectual properties and digital rights of digital contents. This paper suggests a design method to construct a CAS system with DRM which can be applied to a CAS for a small digital broadcasting service.

  • The Korean radio broadcasting system is analog. Digital Radio will transmit a digital signal to existing analog FM/AM. It provides clear sound quality, traffic information, weather information and various value-added services. In addition, the converted digital radio will be able to meet demand to growing demand for analog FM. DRM + is an area to place, depending on the frequency of usage to less interference can be placed anywhere. In this paper, DRM + system, a brief description, and is currently using the frequency status were described, accordingly DRM + candidate channel derived measures proposed, the existing analog broadcast and DRM + of interference effects through the simulation has been verified.

  • The purpose of this study is to know about the interference on FM Radio channel from DRM+ signal. In Korea, a data service channel, named DARC is operated by a major FM radio broadcaster which has national wide service area. Therefore, an analysis of the interference on FM radio channel with DARC data channel from DRM+, most recently developed digital radio system. Technical parameters of FM radio with DARC data channel and DRM+ system are considered for this simulation. To maintain without no interference from DRM+, FM radio channel with DARC data channel should have the power level difference over 14.7dB at 150KHz frequency distance.

  • Transferring the contents for multimedia shows recently very activity, So this fact ailows the contents for multimedia to be commercialized. These contents, however, included much vulnerability that it is difficult to be commercialized because attackers easily reproduce that. Many developers want to use watermarking method as the technique to protect the contents for multimedia, but it is very vulnerable to use only one method, This paper proposes the Secure DRM system which protects the contents for multimedia steganography methods. The DRM system is more powerful than general DRM systems in that it has the special feature of watermarking and steganography techniques, We can prevent the attackers from reproducing and stealing the contents illegally, and authenticating users through DRM systems.

  • Due to illegal copying and distribution via the internet, the digital media that have been introduced create certain intellectual property issues. Because of this, several intellectual property groups have been created to create and maintain Digital Rights Management systems (DRM), in order to crack down on illegal and unauthorized copying. However, these systems are often created by many different companies, which leads to problems of interoperability. Despite attempts to regulate DRM systems, including the MPEG group's Intellectual Property Management and Protection" system, the system is still struggling to maintain some sort of interoperability between differing protocols. In this paper, we designed and implemented a DRM system with Gstreamer, following the DMP.
