In 2018, severe diebacks have occurred on yuzu trees cultivated in Goheung, Jeonnam Province. On-farm surveys at 18 randomly selected orchards revealed the dieback incidence ranged from 7.5% to 100% with an average of 43.6%, and 56.6% of the affected yuzu trees were eventually killed. In order to find the reason for this sudden epidemic, we investigated the weather conditions that are exclusively distinct from previous years, hypothesizing that certain weather extremes might have caused the dieback epidemic on yuzu trees. Since different temperatures can cause freeze damage to plants depending on their dormancy stages, we investigated both periods when yuzu becomes hardy under deep dormancy (January-February) and when yuzu loses its cold hardiness (March-April). First, we found that daily minimum air temperatures below $-10^{\circ}C$ were recorded for 7 days in Goheung for January and February in 2018, while no occasions in 2017. In particular, there were two extreme temperature drops ($-12.6^{\circ}C$ and $-11.5^{\circ}C$) beyond the yuzu cold hardiness limit in 2018. In addition, another occasion of two sudden temperature drops to nearly $0^{\circ}C$ were occurred right after abnormally-warm-temperature-rises to $13^{\circ}C$ of daily minimum air temperatures in mid-March and early April. In conclusion, we estimated that the possible damages by several extreme freeze events during the winter of 2018 could be a major cause of severe diebacks and subsequently killed the severely affected yuzu trees.
The purpose of this study was to identify the propagation characteristics of Diabelia spathulata (Siebold & Zucc.) Landrein through seeding and cutting methods. The seed germination rate was meager (0.22~3.56%). In hardwood cutting, the highest rooting rate was 36.1% in sand + perlite (2:1) and 37.8% in 1000 PPM of IBA pre-treatment. Softwood cutting showed the highest rooting rate when the cutting diameter was 3 to 5 mm and the cutting length was 7 to 8 cm. In particular, the highest rooting rate of 80% was observed in the sand among the 8 cultivation media treatments. In the case of root cuttings, the rooting rate was 83.3~96.7% in all cultivation media. The highest rooting rate was observed when the diameter of the cutting was 7 to 8 mm, and the length of the cutting was about 10 to 11 cm. Among cutting methods, root cutting showed the highest rooting rate. Division showed a 100% rooting rate regardless of size or growth status. For Diabelia spathulata (Siebold & Zucc.) Landrein, propagation by cuttings was more efficient than seeding. However, Further research on the morphophysiological dormancy and dormancy break of seeds is needed for seed propagation.

One of the main factors restricting production of triploid seedless watermelon is poor germination due to weak embryos, thick seed coats, and larger air spaces. This study was carried out to investigate the priming effects of different concentrations of chemicals, including hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$), fusicoccin, and gibberellic acid (GA) on germination and seedling uniformity of triploid watermelon (Citrullus lanatus). Three commercial triploid cultivars, Seedless Plus, Sinus, and Sizero, were pretreated with water and different levels of $H_2O_2$ (2 and 4%), fusicoccin (FC: 1, 5, and $10{\mu}M$), and GA (1, 5, and $10{\mu}M$). The present findings helped to find optimal priming conditions for improving germination of triploid watermelon. Treatment with $5{\mu}M$ GA and hydropriming helped to break seed dormancy, enhancing the final germination percentages in all triploid cultivars and increasing the germination index in Sizero. These seed-priming treatments could be used on large scale for industrial applications. Moreover, hydropriming provides a simple, effective, and costless method to improve seed germination and seedling vigor of Sinus and Sizero varieties.
This experiment was undertaken to study effect of fall Fertitizarion on spring regrowth of Korean lawngrass( Zoysia japonica Steud ) Results obtained are summarized as follows : 1. late fall fertilization stimulated the spring regrowth of Korean lawngrass. hut early spring application showed little effect on that 2. The yield of clippings on May 21 was obviously greater in late fertilization plots(treatment C, D and E) than other plots(treatment A, B and control, but there was no significant difference in clipping yields of C, D and F treatment. 3. Both nitrogen and reducing sugar contents of runner fell down in spring. It was suggested thatthese constituents be translocated from runner to other parts during the budding period. 4. The nitrogen content of runner was obviously mote in the plot of late fall fertilization. In contrast to nitrogen, no obvious difference was found in reducing sugar content of runner of seven application date. It was suggested that the roots of plant be still able to absorb to absorb nitrogen under dormancy. .5.From these results. late fall fertilization enhances the development of Korean lawngrass in the following spring. But early spring application shows little effect on spring regrowth.
Physiological characteristics of Panax ginseng were reviewed in relation to temperature. According to the old literatures and records of cultivator's experiences it was elucidated that ginseng plants require light but hate high temperature and that the cultural methods were developed to content two characteristics in contradiction. Low temperature (cool climate) during growing season seems (or ginseng to be essential and to escape from the extreme coldness according to air and soil temperature of natural habitat and cultivated area. Optimum temperature of dehiscence (15∼below 20$^{\circ}C$) is a little higher than that of germination (10∼15$^{\circ}C$). Optimum temperature for growing of new buds (18∼20$^{\circ}C$) is similar to that for growing after emergence (17∼21$^{\circ}C$). Dormancy of both matured embryo and new buds is broken at the same temperature (2∼3$^{\circ}C$). It seems reasonable that optimum temperature of photosynthesis (22$^{\circ}C$) is similar to that of growth. Respiration quotients of various organs or of whole plant ranged from 1.7 to 3 incrased with high temperature. Respiratory consumption and oxygen limitation seem to be potential factors to induce decay during dehiscence and germination of seeds and root rot in fields. Research on organ differentiation. photosynthesis, respiration and growth with age is needed for the development of cultivation methods.

Respiration in Antheraea mylitta was studied using constant pressure respirometer. Oxygen uptake in different stages of life showed that moth has highest rate of oxygen uptake as compared to larva and pupa. At each stage significant sexual differentiation was observed. Depression in the rate of oxygen uptake in diapausing pupa was found to be higher in male ($65.75\%$) than female ($60.65\%$) as compared to non-diapausing counterparts. During diapause lowest oxygen uptake was recorded in the month of February, and were in the order of February < January < December < March < November < April < May < June in male, and, February < January < December < March < April < November < May < June in female. Significant sexual differentiation in oxygen uptake was recorded throughout the period of diapause (November to June) where female pupae registered lower rate of oxygen uptake than that of male. Oxygen uptake in female pupae declined upto $28.89\%$ in non-diapausing and $18.29\%$ in diapausing broods over male. Highest respiratory quotient value was recorded in the moth of November (0.68 in male and 0.70 in female) and, the lowest in the month of March in male (0.54) and May in female (0.55). Percentage loss in pupa weight always remained at a significantly higher level in male (except in February and March). The lowest oxygen uptake rate and weight loss in the month of February shows that the pupae were at peak of their dormancy during this month.

For pulse trigger way and the energy injection rate according to PET ($Pause^{10-90}$$Energy^{20-40}$$Trigger^{1-7}$) function, indeed, human body condition, period of dormancy in this research about this back correctly adjustment possible and designed harmless micro carrying along style hair exclusion so that can design and manufacture and run special quality examination and Xenon flash lamp to crawl in human body. Because creating individual's skin model to do stable treatment by light transmission way by skin impedance and measure, must embody treatment special quality of most suitable that draw skin color, energy, wave length, approximately, transmission time, pulse delay etc. and want. Specially, saved standard of war treatment pulse modeling by skin impedance, and manufacture pulse modeling system of most suitable by skin subordinate, and embody suitable treatment pulse. Specially, embody as could do root of a hair exclusion being emitted in pulse form using multi wave length of 560nm, 590nm, 640nm, 755nm and embodied clinical data. If become research repletion furthermore little more, is seen that can approximate in commercialization.
Zygotic embryos were excised from immature and mature seeds of the Himalayan yew, Taxus wallichiana. The embryos germinated precociously when kept in darkness for 5 weeks and developed into full seedlings within 10-12 weeks. The highest rate of embryo germination ($81\%$) was obtained in modified Lloyd & McCown' s woody plant medium containing macro and micronutrients at half strength supplemented with $1\%$ activated charcoal, which supported both the best embryonic growth ($43\%$) and seedling development ($32\%$). However, the supplementation of basal media with kinetin, thidiazuron, 6-benzyl aminopurine or $GA_3$ had no effect on the germination of the embryos. The embryos derived from immature seeds germinated but the frequency of embryonic growth was better in mature seeds. Stratification of seeds effected precocious germination of embryos. Seeds kept at $4^{\circ}C$ for 1 week germinated earlier and at a higher frequency irrespective of the stage of seed maturity, while the germination rate declined with prolonged cold treatment for 1 month at that same temperature. Analysis of taxanes in germinating seedlings revealed that root tissues contained high levels of taxol, 10-deacetyl-baccatin ill and baccatin ill as compared to shoots. Thus embryo culture technique appears to overcome the lengthy dormancy requirement of T. wallichiana seeds.

Gibberellic acid did not affect ethylene production, whereas gibberellin biosynthesis inhibitors triggered ethylene production in dormant tubers. Gibberellic acid did not induce sprouting of dormant tubers, however, treatment of gibberellin biosynthesis retardants enhanced sprouting rates. Sprouting rate in ancymidol-treated tubers was highest among gibberellin biosynthesis retardants. Sprouting rate of tubers treated with ancymidol increased to $91.4\%$. Batatasin-III content in $GA_3$ treated tuber was increased in the highest concentration $(30{\mu}g\;I^{-1})$. Tubers treated with mepiquat chloride, Batatasin-I was increased steadily, but contents of Batatasin-III and V showed dramatic decrease at the $ 1,000{\mu}g\;I^{-1})$ concentration. This infers that gibberellin biosynthesis retardants play key roles in promoting breaking dormancy on dormant tubers of Chinese yam.
This report is a series of the investigation of the secondary vegetation and succession at the forest fire area in Dangji-Dong of Kyungsang-pookdo province. The forest fires occurred on April 8, 1982. This investigation was carried out from June 18, 1982 to May 29, 1983 once in each season. Before to fires, the Pinus densiflora was dominant and the woody plants of understory were mainly composed of the Quercus serrata, Q. dentata, Lespedeza maritima and L. macimowiczii. Compared with the florstic composition between the unburned and burned areas after the fires, the floristic composition of unburned area comprises: 79 families, 194 genera, 223 species, 26 varieties and 6 formae (255 kinds of vascular plants). The index of similary shows 0.77 (S$\Phi$renson:1948) in this area. The analyses of the life-form compositions in the unburned and burned area show 32.9% and 29.3% in dormancy form (H), 42.4% and 37.7% in disseminule form($D_1$), 80.8% and 82.2% in radicoid form ($R_5$), and 57.7% and 61.8% in erect form(e) respectively. The biological type shows H-$D_1$-R5-e, which is common in both areas, and erect form is generally prevailing in these communities.
