Effects of Intramolecular Basis Set Superpositon Error on Conformational Energy Difference of 1,2-Difluoroethane and 1.2-Dimethoxyethane

  • The conformation dependences of basis set superposition errors (BSSE) for 1,2-difluoroethane (DFE) and 1,2-dimethoxyethane (DME) molecules have been estimated using counterpoise method at the Moller-Plesset second order perturbation (MP2) level of theory with various basis sets, assuming that all BSSE dependences on conformations are due to the change in CC bond. The BSSE on the energy differences between eclipsed and gauche forms of DFE are in the range of 0.2-1.2 kcal/mol and those between local minima, gauche and anti forms, are less than 0.2 kcal/mol. For the larger DME molecule, the BSSE differences between local minima are still less than 0.4 kcal/mol, but may not be ignored compared to the energy differences of 0.2-3.0 kcal/mol between conformers.

Pool Boiling Heat Transfer Coefficients of Hydrocarbon Refrigerants on Various Enhanced Tubes (열전달 촉진관에서 탄화수소계 냉매의 풀비등 열전달계수)

  • In this work, pool boiling heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) of five hydrocarbon refrigerants of propylene, propane, isobutane, butane and dimethylether (DME) were measured at the liquid temperature of $7^{\circ}C$ on a 26 fpi low fin tube, Turbo-B, and Thermoexcel-E tubes. All data were taken from 80 to $10kW/m^2$ in the decreasing order of heat flux. The data of hydrocarbon refrigerants showed a typical trend that nucleate boiling HTCs obtained on enhanced tubes also increase with the vapor pressure. Fluids with lower reduced pressure such as DME, isobutane, and butane took more advantage of the heat transfer enhancement mechanism of enhanced tubes than those enhancement ratios of $2.3\sim9.4$ among the tubes tested due to its sub-channels and re-entrant cavities.

Influence of Ionic Liquid as a Template on Preparation of Porous η-Al2O3 to DME Synthesis from Methanol

  • Porous ${\eta}-Al_2O_3$ was synthesized by modified sol-gel method using ionic liquid as a templating material. The addition of ionic liquid assisted to increase the surface area of alumina. However, the acidity of aluminas prepared with ionic liquids was hardly affected regardless the change of its structural properties. Among the ionic liquids used in this study, 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate ([Bmim][$PF_6$]) was the most effective ionic liquid to produce porous ${\eta}-Al_2O_3$ particles. The catalytic performance of these aluminas has been investigated in dehydration of methanol to produce dimethyl ether. The alumina prepared with [Bmim][$PF_6$] outperformed the other aluminas except ${\eta}-Al_2O_3$ without modification in this reaction.

Measurement of Laminar Flame Speeds of Dimethyl Ether-Air Mixtures at High Pressure (고압에서 DME-Air 혼합기의 화염속도 측정)

  • Spherically expanding flames are used to measure flame speeds, which are derived the corresponding laminar flame speeds at zero stretch. Dimethyl Ether-Air mixtures at high pressure are studied over an extensive range of equivalence ratios. The classical shadowgraph technique is used to detect the reaction zone. In analytical methodology the optimization process using least mean squares is performed to extract the laminar flame speeds. It is seen that the laminar flame speed of DME-Air mixture with the increase of pressure decreases rapidly showing a similar trend to other hydrocarbon fuels. At pressure of 2 and 10 atm the experimental data from the present study agree well with results reported in the literature. Especially the laminar flame speeds at 2 atm are in good agreement with those calculated in numerical work over the full stoichiometric range. At elevated pressure of 12 atm the measured data are slightly slower at fuel lean condition and show close agreement at fuel rich condition when compared with the numerical results.

  • 디젤엔진에 적합한 환경 친화적 연료로 평가받고 있는 디메틸에테르(DME)를 기존의 메탄올 탈수화에 의한 간접법 대신 합성 가스로부터 직접 합성법으로 제조하였다. 합성가스에서 메탄올을 합성하는 경우에 비해 화학 평형 상의 이점 때문에 DME를 합성하는 것이 경제적이며 이는 실험 결과와 일치하였다. 기상 반응기에서 메탄올 탈수촉매의 부가에 의한 메탄올 환산 생산량은 메탄올 합성촉매에 의한 생산량에 비해 두 배 이상의 증가를 보인다. 메탄올 탈수촉매를 Cu로 개질한 효과는 없었으며, 메탄올 탈수촉매로서 순수 감마알루미나가 가장 우수한 반응성을 보였다. 반응 조건이 25$0^{\circ}C$, 30atm일 때 고려된 GHSV 범위에서 촉매 적정 혼합비는 7:3, 합성 가스의 조성비는 $H_2$/CO=1일 때 가장 좋은 선택도와 수율을 나타내었다.

Morphological Feature Parameter Extraction from the Chromosome Image Using Reconstruction Algorithm (염색체 영상의 재구성에 의한 형태학적 특징 파라메타 추출)

  • Researches on chromosome are very significant in cytogenetics since a gene of the chromosome controls revelation of the inheritance plasma The human chromosome analysis is widely used to diagnose genetic disease and various congenital anomalies. Many researches on automated chromosome karyotype analysis has been carried out, some of which produced commercial systems. However, there still remains much room for improving the accuracy of chromosome classification. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for reconstruction of the chromosDme image to improve the chromosome classification accuracy. Morphological feature parameters are extracted from the reconstructed chromosome images. The reconstruction method from chromosome image is the 32 direction line algorithm. We extract three morphological feature parameters, centromeric index(C.I.), relative length ratio(R.L.), and relative area ratio(R.A.), by preprocessing ten human chromosDme images. The experimental results show that proposed algorithm is better than that of other researchers'comparing by feature parameter errors.

INFLUENCE OF THE MIXING RATIO OF DOUBLE COMPONENTIAL FUELS ON HCCI COMBUSTION

  • For practical application on the HCCI engine, the solution of subjects, such as control of auto-ignition timing and avoidance of knocking, is indispensable. This study focused on the technique of controlling HCCI combustion appropriately, changing the mixture ratio of two kinds of fuel. Methane and DME/n-Butane were selected as fuels. The influences, which the mixing ratio of two fuels does to ignition timing, ignition temperature, rate of heat release and oxidation reaction process, were investigated by experiment with 4-stroke HCCI engine and numerical calculation with elementary reactions.

Impact of solar storm on Navaids system (태양폭풍이 항행안전시설에 미치는 영향분석)

  • The solar storm generated by solar activity can be impact on earth in various area. If solar storm impact on Navaids system, it will be a serious problem for aviation and human safety. The impact analysis of solar strom on Navaids system are performed in three area, ILS, GPS navigation and radio communication for aviation. Analysis result show that Instrument Landing System(LLZ, GP, MB) and Navaids system(VOR, DME, Radar) are not impacted by the solar storm, but GPS system is impacted by solar storm. Also analysis result show that VHF/UHF radio system are not impacted by solar storm, but HF radio system is impacted by solar storm.
