Inhibin-A를 추가한 Quad Test의 한국인 산모의 임신주수별 Median치에 대한 평가 (Evaluation of Gestational Age Median Value by Use of the Quad Test with Dimeric Inhibin A for Korea Pregnant Women)

  • Human chorionic gonadotrophin (hCG) and unconjugated estriol (uE3) were added to AFP to make what is commonly known as the Triple test. The Triple test combines results from these three tests and has been a standard screening procedure for several years. Recent studies have demonstrated the usefulness of adding inhibin-A to Down's syndrome risk assessment. The Quad test adds dimeric Inhibin-A (DIA) to the three other markers and uses the same computer program to calculate risk factors. Testing was performed between 14 and 21 weeks of gestation. Sample size were 648 samples and period of study was from 1, July, 2004 to 30, September, 2004. Used analytical methods for AFP, hCG and uE3 were radioimmunoassay (RIA) and dimeric inhibin A was enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Adding dimeric inhibin-A as a fourth marker to the standard triple test increases the detection rate from 62 % to 75 % with a false-positive rate of 5%. The DIA based Quad test has been shown to be the most effective second trimester screening test for Down's syndrome suitable for routine use. Increased DIA values are observed during normal pregnancy where a bimodal pattern response is seen. Values increase during the first trimester, decline after 14 weeks, and re-ascend between 17-25 weeks. Values for DIA may be additionally elevated during a Down's syndrome pregnancy. Dimeric inhibin A is a glycoprotein hormone made by the ovary and placenta. DIA levels are twice as high in Down's syndrome pregnancies. AFP, hCG, and uE3 levels vary with gestational age, and incorrect gestational dating will influence results. DIA levels do not vary substantially with gestational age, resulting in greater screening accuracy. Although the Quad test is an improvement over the Triple test, it is important to underscore the fact that a positive test on both should be done. Most women who initially screen positive will be found to be carrying normal babies when amniocentesis and definitive diagnostic chromosome analysis are done.

  • MPEG-21 멀티미디어 프레임워크는 다양한 종류의 네트워크와 장치들이 멀티미디어 자원을 보다 효율적으로 전달하고 사용할 수 있도록 지원하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. MPEG-21의 주요한 목표 중 하나는 서로 다른 기종의 단말기기에서 동일한 가독성을 보여주는 멀티미디어 스트리밍(streaming)을 지원하기 위해서 디지털 아이템 적응(digital item adaptation, DIA)을 통한 광범위한 멀티미디어 접근성, 다시 말해서 UMA (universal multimedia access)를 구현하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-21 디지털 아이템 적응을 이용하여 단말기기의 전력 소모를 절감할 수 있는 방법을 최초로 소개한다. MPEG-21 멀티미디어 프레임워크는 처음부터 단말기기의 전력 소모 절감을 목적으로 설계된 것이 아니기 때문에, 단말기기.의 전력 소모에 관련된 상세한 정보를 제공할 수는 없지만 몇 가지 제한된 정보는 현 시점에서도 이용가능하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이러한 정보를 이용하여 MPEG-21 디지털 아이템 적응 표준을 따르는 여러 가지 전력 소모 절감 기법들을 제시하고, 각각의 전력 소모 절감 기법들 사이의 상호 의존 관계를 밝히고자 한다. 본 논문에서 소개한 전력 소모 절감 기법들을 단말기기에 적용하면 멀티미디어 서비스의 품질을 거의 손상시키지 않으면서 휴대용 멀티미디어 기기의 소비 전력을 최대 $66\%$까지 줄일 수 있다.

유공위치 변경에 따른 RC기둥의 내력변화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Stress Change Varying with Hole Place of RC Column)

  • many plumbing system are needed in the ceiling of the building as it becomes advanced more and more. This leads to make effective space between ceiling level and slab less. Also, piping system is not suitably arranged and operated if it is bent around the columns which they are a lot. But this system can be more effective if it passes through the columns directly. Most people think that those columns should not be damaged with such as holes. But actually this is existed in a hotel building in switzerland. This study is to fing out how much capacity the columns become damaged and low using model size of $20cm{\times}30cm$ rectangular section, and 160cm long, in the structural test. it's compressive strength is focused on $240kg/cm^{2}$ design strength, commonly used in korea. Compressive test for them was done at Hanyang University using UTM one thousand tone(1000t) capacity. Variable numbers for the study are one hole of dia 3cm with distance 20cm or 40cm, two holes of dia 3cm with 20cm and 40cm distance, one hole of dia 5cm with distance 20cm and 40cm, two holes of dia 5cm with 20cm and 40cm distance, me eccentric hole with 20cm and 40cm distance, Normal(without hole). two test specimens of each variable are made for the test. ED5H20 capacity was 16.7% decreased, compared to normal one. While ED5H40 distant 40cm from the end of column top showed 19.5% capacity decrease, compared to normal one. Strain of ED5H20 diameter 5cm, in distance of 20cm form the top of the column was less 5% than the one of diameter 3cm. Finally, conclusions are that in case of hole diameter 3cm, located at 20cm from the end of the column top, capacity was decreased down to 3, percent only compared to the same diameter hole with 20cm distant from the end of it.

Crystal Structure and Comparative Sequence Analysis of GmhA from Colwellia psychrerythraea Strain 34H Provides Insight into Functional Similarity with DiaA

  • The psychrophilic organism Colwellia psychrerythraea strain 34H produces extracellular polysaccharide substances to tolerate cold environments. Sedoheptulose 7-phosphate isomerase (GmhA) is essential for producing $\small{D}$-glycero-$\small{D}$-mannoheptose 7-phosphate, a key mediator in the lipopolysaccharide biosynthetic pathway. We determined the crystal structure of GmhA from C. psychrerythraea strain 34H (CpsGmhA, UniProtKB code: Q47VU0) at a resolution of $2.8{\AA}$. The tetrameric structure is similar to that of homologous GmhA structures. Interestingly, one of the catalytic residues, glutamate, which has been reported to be critical for the activity of other homologous GmhA enzymes, is replaced by a glutamine residue in the CpsGmhA protein. We also found differences in the conformations of several other catalytic residues. Extensive structural and sequence analyses reveal that CpsGmhA shows high similarity to Escherichia coli DnaA initiatorassociating protein A (DiaA). Therefore, the CpsGmhA structure reported here may provide insight into the structural and functional correlations between GmhA and DiaA among specific microorganisms.

얼굴 인식을 위한 쌍대각 2DLDA 방법 (Bilateral Diagonal 2DLDA Method for Human Face Recognition)

  • 본 논문에서는 얼굴을 인식하기 위한 쌍대각 2차원 LDA를 제안하였다. 기존의 Dia2DPCA와 Dia2DLDA가 대각 방향 영상들의 행 변화량과 열 변화량 사이의 상관을 제한하기 위하여 제안되어지고 있다. 그러나 이러한 방법들은 영상들의 행방향으로 동작한다. 제한 방법에 있어서 행방향의 투영 행렬은 기존 방법과 전혀 다르게 대각 방향 얼굴 영상들의 열 변화량을 고려한 클래스 간의 공분산 행렬과 클래스 내의 공분산 행렬을 이용함으로써 얻어진다. 그리고 열방향의 투영 행렬은 대각방향 얼굴 영상들의 행 변화량을 고려한 클래스 간의 공분산 행렬과 클래스 내의 공분산 행렬을 이용함으로써 얻어진다. 좌우 양측의 투영 방법은 투영 행렬들을 좌우로 곱함으로써 적용된다. 그 결과로 특징 행렬의 차원과 계산 시간이 감소된다. ORL 얼굴 데이터베이스에서 수행된 실험들은 Frobenius, Yang, AMD와 같은 3가지 거리 척도를 사용하여 2DPCA, B2DPCA, 2DLDA 등과 같은 다른 얼굴 인식 방법들보다 제안된 방법의 인식률이 높음을 보여준다.

Integrating Multi-view Stereoscopic Transmission System into MPEG-21 DIA (Digital Item Adaptation)

  • In general multi-view system, all the view sequences acquired at the server are transmitted to the client. However, this kind of system requires high processing power of the server as well as the client, thus it is posing a difficulty in practical applications. To overcome this problem, a relatively simple method is to transmit only two view-sequences requested by the client in order to deliver a stereoscopic video. In this system, effective communication between the server and the client is one of important aspects. Therefore, we propose an efficient multi-view system that transmits two view-sequences according to user's request. The view selection process is integrated into MPEG-21 DIA (Digital Item Adaptation) so that our system is compatible to MPEG-21 multimedia framework. Furthermore, multi-view descriptors related to multi-view camera and systems are newly introduced. The syntax of the descriptions and their elements is represented in XML (extensible Markup Language) schema. Intermediate view reconstruction (IVR) is used to reduce such discomfort with excessive disparity. Furthermore, IVR is useful for smooth transition between two stereoscopic view sequences. Finally, through the implementation of testbed, we can show the valuables and possibilities of our system.

열처리공법에 따른 Sleeve의 열처리 변형 특성 (Characteristic on the Heating Deformation of Sleeve by Heating Method)

  • Nowadays, out of other transmission parts, the sleeve is getting more and more important part for exact and smooth shifting from gear ratio change whenever drivers are needed. To exact and smooth shifting when drivers are needed, all the parts connected with gear shifting should be machined exactly and having dimensions designers are intended. Especially, in case of the sleeve that the most important functional part to shift from gear ratio change that drivers are intended, it needs high precision grade and quality in both sides runout and outer dia runout as well as inner spline small dia & large dia. Because it's assembled with the synchro hub spline and shifted directly with the mating cone. So, it should be applied the hear treatment(hereinafter referred to H.T.M.T) to prevent the friction and percussion loss from shifting with mating cone. At this time, the deformation problems are raised from almost H.T.M.T. process and it makes the inferior part.

Detection of Variable Stars in the Open Cluster M11 Using Difference Image Analysis Pipeline

  • We developed a photometric pipeline to be used for a wide field survey. This pipeline employs the difference image analysis (DIA) method appropriate for the photometry of star dense field such as the Galactic bulge. To verify the performance of pipeline, the observed dataset of the open cluster M11 was re-processed. One hundred seventy eight variable stars were newly discovered by analyzing the light curves of which photometric accuracy was improved through the DIA. The total number of variable stars in the M11 observation region is 335, including 157 variable stars discovered by previous studies. We present the catalogue and light curves for the 178 variable stars. This study shows that the photometric pipeline using the DIA is very useful in the detection of variable stars in a cluster.

국방 군사시설의 BIM적용 및 활성화 방안 연구 (Research of Application and Facilitation of BIM on Military Facilities)

  • Since its beginning the military has continued updating its equipments and facilities by modernizing and expanding them. However, with rapidly growing technologies and business management skills, the time for military facilities' evolvement seems unavoidable. The Defense Installations Agency (DIA) has come to a conclusion that application of BIM is necessary. Since its decision, the DIA has been researching the use of BIM and developing guidelines for its application. Nevertheless, the speed of instructions and practical implementation of its model have been behind its plan due to various reasons. To overcome its limitations, the DIA has come up with three-step-solution: basic experience, budgeting, and expansion. Due to numerous number of projects of BIM, it is almost impractical to implement all of them concurrently. The methodological approach of the research employs the Delphi survey method to quantitatively analyze qualitative information drawn from experts' opinions. By applying the Delphi survey method, the first round of the survey drew lists of constraints, BIM application scenarios as well as BIM promotion measures. Afterwards, at the second round of the survey, criticality of each item collected at the 1st round was analyzed to reach a conclusion. Finally, constraints against BIM application were analyzed, and BIM application scenarios and promotion measures for the BIM were introduced.
