직렬 갭 피뢰기의 흡습시 전극표면의 변화 및 특성 (Characteristics and Change of Electrode Surface in Moisture Absorption on the Series Gap Surge Arrester)

  • The characteristics and change of electrode surface about Gap type surge arrester for protect DC subway rail were investigated with moisture absorption. Compared that tested about DC/AC discharge commencement voltage, residual voltage, Impulse, square wave impulse for DC rail surge arrester about Gap type surge arrester of moisture absorption state. The AC discharge commencement voltage acted greatly effect of moisture absorption than the DC discharge commencement voltage test.

임펄스전류에 의한 배전용 ZnO 피뢰기 소자의 열화특성 (Deterioration Characteristics of ZnO Surge Arrester Blocks for Power Distribution Systems Due to Impulse Currents)

  • In order to analyze the electrical performance of ZnO surge arresters stressed by the combined DC and AC voltages that are generated in DC/AC converter systems, the leakage current properties of ZnO surge arrester blocks deteriorated by impulse currents were investigated. The test specimens were deteriorated by the 8/$20{\mu}s$ impulse current of 2.5kA and the leakage currents flowing into the deteriorated zinc oxide(ZnO) arrester blocks subjected to the combined DC and power frequency AC voltages are measured. As a result, the leakage currents flowing through deteriorated ZnO surge arrester blocks were higher than those flowing through the fine ZnO surge arrester blocks and the larger the injection number of 8/$20{\mu}s$ impulse current of 2.5kA is, the greater the leakage current is. The leakage current-voltage curves(I-V curves) of the fine and deteriorated ZnO surge arrester blocks stressed by the combined DC and AC voltages show significant difference in the low conduction region. Also the cross-over phenomenon is observed at the voltage close to the knee of conduction on plots of I-V curves.

  • 이 논문은 직류+60[Hz] 교류 중첩전압에서 신품과 노후된 18[kV] 산화아연 서지피뢰기의 누설전류와 전력손실에 대하여 기술하였다. 최대 50[kV]의 직류+60[Hz] 교류를 발생시킬 수 있는 중첩전압발생장치가 설계되고 제작되었다. 피뢰기의 I-V 특성곡선은 전압중첩률 K의 함수로 측정된다. DC와 AC 전압이 중첩된 I-V, R-V 특성곡선은 순수한 직류와 교류곡선 사이에 있고 저전류 영역에서 교차현상이 나타난다. 그 결과 중첩 전압에서 직류 성분의 증가는 ZnO 피뢰기의 전체 누설전류의 저항성분의 증가를 유발한다. 또한 같은 인가전압에서 피뢰기를 통해 흐르는 누설전류는 상용전원에서 장시간 스트레스 받은 피뢰기가 신품 피뢰기에 비해서 높게 나타났다.

특별저전압 직류 전원회로에 유용한 서지방호장치의 설계와 특성 (Design and Behavior of Validating Surge Protective Devices in Extra-low Voltage DC Power Lines)

  • In order to effectively protect electrical and electronic circuits which are extremely susceptible to lightning surges, multi-stage surge protection circuits are required. This paper presents the operational characteristics of the two-stage hybrid surge protection circuit in extra-low voltage DC power lines. The hybrid surge protective device consists of the gas discharge tube, transient voltage suppressor, and series inductor. The response characteristics of the proposed hybrid surge protective device to combination waves were investigated. As a result, the proposed two-stage surge protective device to combination wave provides the tight clamping level of less than 50V. The firing of the gas discharge tube to lightning surges depends on the de-coupling inductance and the rate-of-change of the current flowing through the transient voltage suppressor. The coordination between the upstream and downstream components of the hybrid surge protective device was satisfactorily achieved. The inductance of a de-coupler in surge protective circuits for low-voltage DC power lines, relative to a resistance, is sufficiently effective. The voltage drop and power loss due to the proposed surge protective device are ignored during normal operation of the systems.

DC 혼합배전시스템에서 지중계통의 뇌과전압 해석 (Lightning Surge Analysis on Underground System in DC Combined Distribution System)

  • This paper describes the overvoltage through lightning surge analysis on underground system in DC combined distribution systems. It is considered that operating micro grid including distributed generation with smart grid can make possibility of composing new distribution system different from existing one. However, there are many papers about low voltage DC distribution in grids or buildings but not many about replacement or distributing 22.9kV AC distribution system to DC system. Among many research need for DC system development, overvoltage is studied in this paper. Overvoltage is simulated on DC cable when lightning strikes to overhead grounding wire which is installed at the nearest location from power cable section. Analysis as well as modeling is performed in EMTP/ATPDraw. It is evaluated that analysis results can be used to design of DC underground distribution power cable system.

  • This paper is Instant space vector PWM(Pulse Width Modulation)power conversion devices in switching power semiconductors from my generation to losses and switching when the voltage surge and current surge of electronic noise(EMI: Electro Magnetic Interference / RFI: Radio Frequency Interference)to effectively minimize the power soft-switching power conversion circuit topologies of auxiliary resonant DC tank for the purpose of high performance realization of the electric power conversion system by the high-speed switching of a semiconductor device(AQRDCT simultaneously : an active auxiliary resonance using auxiliary Quasi-resonant DC tank)DC link snubber switch has adopted a three-phase voltage inverter. AQRDCL proposed in this paper can reduce the effective and current peak stress of the power semiconductors of the auxiliary resonant snubber circuit compared to the conventional active-resonant DC link snubber, it is not necessary to install the clamp switch of the auxiliary resonant DC link, DC the peak current and power loss of the bus line can be reduced.

온도측정에 의한 SPD용 배리스터의 성능평가에 관한 연구(I) (A Study on Performance Evaluation of SPD Varistor by Temperature Measurement(I))

  • In this paper, how the temperature of a varistor changes when $10/350{\mu}s$ surge currents and/or DC leakage currents are applied on it, respectively, are investigated. The temperature change in varistor is related with injection energy and leakage current. which is the integration of power in time. By the surge current test, we found that the temperature jump is proportional to the level of surge current with slant 52.535 and has no relation with the ambient temperature. And by the DC leakage current test, the difference in temperatures between varistor and ambient is proportional to the magnitude of leakage current. The slope of measured line(the temperature difference vs. the leakage current) shows alteration around $100{\mu}A$. The varistors can not be used more than $100{\mu}A$ region any more. From the above experimental results, we can conclude that data of the surge current test and also those of DC leakage current test can predict the performance of varistors of which the surge protective devices are made.

  • This paper preserts the characteristics of leakage currents flowing through 18 kV zinc oxide (ZnO) surge arrester under the mixed DC and AC voltages. The I-V curves of ZnO surge arrester were measured as a function of the voltage ratio K The I-V curves under the mixed DC and AC voltages lay between the pure DC and AC characteristics, and the cross-over phenomenon in I-V curves was observed at the low current region As a result, the increase of DC component to mixed voltages causes the increase of resistive component of total leakage current th ZnO surge arrester.

  • This paper deals with the electrical characteristics related to power loss, equivalent resistance, and leakage currents flowing through new and deteriorated zinc oxide(ZnO) arrester elements subjected to the mixed DC and 60[Hz] AC voltages. The test specimens were deteriorated by 8/20[${\mu}s$] impulse current of 2.5[kA]. The leakage current-applied voltage($I-V$) characteristic curves of ZnO surge arrester elements were measured as a parameter of the ratio of the peak of 60[Hz] AC voltage to the peak of total voltage. As a consequence of test results, in case of the same applied voltage, the leakage currents flowing through the deteriorated ZnO arrester elements were higher than those flowing through the new ZnO surge arrester elements. The cross-over phenomenon in $I-V$ curves of ZnO surge arrester elements measured as a parameter of the mixed ratio of DC and AC voltages was observed at the low current domain. The effect of DC voltage on the leakage current flowing through ZnO surge arrester elements is pronounced at the same magnitude of test voltages. In addition, the larger the applied number of 8/20[${\mu}s$] impulse current of 2.5[kA] is, the greater the power loss is, in particular, the more severe the power loss increases at higher applied voltages.

직류전동차용 피뢰기 진단기술 (Diagnostic Techniques of Lightning Arresters for DC Electric Traction Vehicles)

  • This paper dealt with the performance evaluation and the diagnostic techniques of lightning arresters for DC electric traction vehicle. Field Measurements on the protective operation of lightning arresters against surge currents were carried out on running vehicles to acquire the data necessary for the diagnosis. The frequency and the magnitude of surge events were analyzed. Surge currents of $1\sim3$ times were recorded in one running service route and their magnitudes were ranges of $150A\sim2kA$. Also, an acceleration experiment on a lightning arrester by the standard lightning impulse current of 8/20 us and 5 kA was performed to know the aging characteristics. After the surge current application of 3,000 times, the reference voltage decreased by 4.5 %, and the leakage current was below 10 uA at the continuous operating voltage and about 50 uA at the rated voltage. From the experimental results, we propose a decision level of leakage current for the arrester used in this paper and designed an arrester tester which analyzes arrester condition by the magnitude of leakage current.
