  • In this paper, we propose a new diagnosis method of DC/DC converter aging. The method is based on variations of the parasitic resistor for the aging process. We apply an on-line diagnosis of the DC/DC converter because the observation is not a device, but a system. This study proposes a method of DC/DC converter diagnosis by analyzing the variations of model on the variations of parasitic resistor.

  • In this paper, a fuzzy controller for DC-DC converters is proposed in order to obtain good performances that can not be achieved by liner control techniques in the presence of wide parameter variz. tions. The presented approach is general and can he applied to any DC-DC converter topologies. While the conventional method uses error and derivative of error, the proposed controller method uses state variables. Such method is very efficient in case of DC-DC converters and can guaranlee both stable small-signal responses and improved large-signal responses. Application results of boost converter(booster) show control potentialities.

  • 풀 브리지 dc-dc 컨버터는 일차측의 모든 스위치가 ZVS 턴온을 하여 높은 효율을 얻을 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 그러나 풀 브리지 dc-dc 컨버터의 입력전압의 값이 낮아지면 전압 이득이 낮아서 출력측의 전압도 낮아진다는 단점이 있다. 이러한 점을 개선하기 위하여 풀 브리지 능동 클램프 회로를 함께 사용하여 입력전압이 낮아지더라도 출력전압을 원하는 값을 유지하도록 한다. 일반적인 전압의 입력에서는 위상변이 방식의 풀브릿지 dc-dc 컨버터로 동작하며, 입력전압이 낮아질 경우 능동 클램프로 제어하게 된다. 일반적인 전압의 입력에서는 위상변이 방식의 풀브릿지 dc-dc 컨버터로 동작하며, 입력전압이 낮아질 경우 능동 클램프로 제어하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 넓은 입력 범위를 갖는 풀 브리지 dc-dc 컨버터를 제안한다. 제안하는 dc-dc 컨버터의 구조와 제어 방식을 소개하며 시뮬레이션을 통하여 회로의 타당성을 확인한다.

  • 위상이 반대인 두 컨버터를 병렬로 사용하는 인터리브 DC/DC 컨버터는 고밀도, 고직접화가 가능하며 전류 잡음이 적다는 장점이 있지만 시비율이 50% 가 아닐 때에는 전류 리플이 존재하게 된다는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 단점을 보완하기 위해 50% 시비율로 동작하는 인터리브 DC/DC 컨버터와 인터리브 PFC를 결합하여 단점을 개선한 저잡음 인터리브 DC/DC 컨버터를 제안하였다. 인터리브 DC/DC 컨버터는 반대 위상의 50% 시비율로만 스위칭되어 이상적으로 전류 리플이 상쇄되게 된다. 인터리브 PFC는 인터리브 DC/DC 컨버터의 출력 전압을 피드백 받아 입력 전압을 변화시켜 항상 DC/DC 컨버터의 출력전압이 일정하도록 유지한다. 실험을 통하여 이를 입증하고 그 결과를 보인다.

  • This paper proposes a design and experiment of three phase interleaved dc-dc converter for 5kW battery charger. The charger consists of a three-phase interleaved dc-dc converter, which interfaces batteries and DC link, and a grid connected inverter. Lead-acid battery is modeled in a simple R-C model by matlab. Parameters of the battery are estimated based on step current discharging test. The battery is connected to three-phase interleaved DC-DC converter in order to reduce the ripple current to the battery and so, increase the lifetime of battery. Controller for charging and discharging mode is designed and tested in a 5kW charger prototype.

  • This paper presents a novel circuit topology of a DC bus line series switch and parallel snubbing capacitor-assisted soft-switching PWM full-bridge inverter type DC-DC power converter with a high frequency planar transformer link, which is newly developed for high performance arc welding machines in industry. The proposed DC-DC power converter circuit is based upon a voltage source-fed H type full-bridge soft-switching PWM inverter with a high frequency transformer. This DC-DC power converter has a single power semiconductor switching device in series with an input DC low side rail and loss less snubbing capacitor in parallel with the inverter bridge legs. All the active power switches in the full-bridge arms and DC bus line can achieve ZCS turn-on and ZVS turn-off transition commutation. Consequently, the total switching power losses occurred at turn-off switching transition of these power semiconductor devices; IGBTs can be reduced even in higher switching frequency bands ranging from 20 kHz to 100 kHz. The switching frequency of this DC-DC power converter using IGBT power modules can be realized at 60 kHz. It is proved experimentally by power loss analysis that the more the switching frequency increases, the more the proposed DC-DC power converter can achieve a higher control response performance and size miniaturization. The practical and inherent effectiveness of the new DC-DC converter topology proposed here is actually confirmed for low voltage and large current DC-DC power supplies (32V, 300A) for TIG arc welding applications in industry.

  • DC/DC switching power converters produce DC output voltages from different stable DC input sources regulated by a bi-polar transistor. The converters can be used in regenerative braking of DC motors to return energy back in the supply, resulting in energy savings for the systems containing frequent stops. The voltage mode DC/DC converter is composed of a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) controller, a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistor), an inductor, and capacitors, etc. PWM is applied to control and regulate the total output voltage. It is shown that the output of DC/DC converter depends on the variation of threshold voltage at MOSFET and the variation of pulse width. In the PWM operation, the missing pulses, the changes in pulse width, and a change in the period of the output waveform are studied by SPICE (Simulation Program with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) and experiments.

  • With the increasing utilization of high-voltage, direct current (HVDC) transmissions in modern power systems, the DC grid is becoming a hot topic in academic and practical systems. In the DC grid, one of the urgent problems is the fast clearance of the DC fault in the DC network. One preferred method is to isolate the faulty point from the DC network in a short time. The DC circuit breaker is to interrupt the overcurrent after DC faults occur. In this paper, a self-excited resonant DC circuit breaker is an easy and cheap equipment to interrupt the DC fault current. The Mayr's arc model is utilized to simulate the self-excited DC circuit breaker in a DC test system in PSCAD/EMTDC.

  • 본 논문은 전기자동차용 인버터의 DC-Link 전압 가변을 위한 2상 양방향 DC-DC 컨버터의 제어 기법을 제안한다. 제안된 DC-DC 컨버터는 2-스위치 Buck-Boost 컨버터를 병렬구성 하여 전기자동차의 높은 출력에 대응하였으며 출력단 다이오드를 스위치로 교체하여 회생동작을 가능하게 하였다. 이를 시뮬레이션을 통하여 제어알고리즘의 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • Since the non-overlapping gate driver used in conventional DC-DC boost converters generates fixed dead-times, the converters suffer from the body-diode conduction loss or the charge-sharing loss. To reduce the efficiency degradation due to these losses, this paper presents a PWM DC-DC boost converter with adaptive dead-time control. The proposed DC-DC boost converter delivering 3.3V output from a 2.5V input is designed with CMOS $0.3{\mu}m$ technology. It operates at 500kHz and has a maximum power efficiency of 97.3%.
