The Relation between Emission Properties and Growth of Carbon nanotubes with dc bias by RF Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition

  • The growth of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) was carried out using ratio frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (rf PECVD) system equipped with dc bias for the directional growth. Acetylene and ammonia gas were used as the carbon source and a catalyst. The relation between gas flow rate and dc bias on the growth of CNTs was investigated. We studied the relation between emission properties and the directionality of CNTs grown under different dc bias voltage.

카본 박막의 미세조직에 미치는 HiPIMS 공정조건의 영향 (The Effect of HiPIMS Conditions on Microstructure of Carbon Thin Film)

  • HiPIMS(High Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering)를 이용하여 탄소 박막을 증착하였다. 파워, 압력, 바이어스 전압, duty cycle에 따른 탄소 박막의 특성과 미세조직을 조사하였다. HiPIMS 파워가 증가할수록 증착 두께는 증가하였으며 표면이 거칠어지는 경향을 보였다. 압력의 증가 또한 표면이 거칠어지는 경향을 보였으나 증착 두께는 압력에 비례하지 않았다. 바이어스 전압이 증가함에 따라 조도가 나빠졌고 증착 두께는 증가하다가 임계 바이어스 전압부터는 감소하는 경향을 보였다. 듀티 사이클의 변화는 아크 발생과 같은 문제를 유발했으며 이는 챔버 구조나 타겟의 크기 등에 영향을 받는다. XPS로 $sp^2/sp^3$ 분율을 확인하였으며 $sp^2/sp^3$ 분율이 DC 스퍼터링의 경우보다 HiPIMS의 경우가 더 큰 것을 확인하였다.

  • In this work, we carried out the variation of surface characteristics of organic polymer films by O2 plasma. The plasma diagnostics were performed by DLP(Double Langmuir Probe) and OES(Optical Emission Spectroscopy) measurements. Moreover, variation of surface characteristics were measured by AFM(Atomic Force Microscope), XPS(X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy), and contact angle goniometer. It was found that the etch rate of organic films was controlled by O radicals flux and dc bias voltage. And O radical density and dc bias voltage increased with increasing bias power. So, it was changed surface energy as a function of surface roughness and O/C ratio in organic films.

Rotor Initial Position Estimation Based on sDFT for Electrically Excited Synchronous Motors

  • Rotor initial position is an important factor affecting the control performance of electrically excited synchronous motors. This study presents a novel method for estimating rotor initial position based on sliding discrete Fourier transform (sDFT). By injecting an ac excitation into the rotor winding, an induced voltage is generated in stator windings. Through this voltage, the stator flux can be obtained using a pure integral voltage model. Considering the influence from a dc bias and an integral initial value, we adopt the sDFT to extract the fundamental flux component. A quadrant identification model is designed to realize the accurate estimation of the rotor initial position. The sDFT and high-pass filter, DFT, are compared in detail, and the contrast between dc excitation and ac injection is determined. Simulation and experimental results verify that this type of novel method can eliminate the influence of dc bias and other adverse factors, as well as provide a basis for the control of motor drives.

  • 본 논문에서는 증폭기의 구동 전력을 조절하는 회로와 PBG 구조를 이용하여 전력 증폭기의 전력효율의 증가와 혼변조 왜곡 성분을 감소하게 하였다. 입력 RF 신호의 크기에 따라서 게이트의 DC 전압을 조절하였고, 전력 증폭기의 출력 정합회로에 PBG를 추가하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 전력 증폭기의 경우 기존의 전력 증폭기와 비교 하였을 때 혼변조 왜곡성분은 3dBc 개선되었고, 평균 전력효율은 $35.54\%$ 개선되었다.

  • This paper presents a velocity regulation scheme for a DC motor subjected to random torque and velocity measurement noises of white noise type as well as unknown constant load torque (bias). The scheme separately estimates an unknown bias in addition to state estimation by the bias-free Kalman Filter, and reflects the effect of the bias estimate to the armature input voltage such that velocity variations be regulated. It is shown via computer simulations that the performance of the present scheme is superior to that of the conventional analog PI regulator.

한 쌍의 전극으로 전기 삼투 유동과 세포 분쇄 기능을 동시에 구현한 연속적인 세포 분쇄기 (A Continuous Electrical Cell Lysis Chip using a DC Bias Voltage for Cell Disruption and Electroosmotic Flow)

  • We present a continuous electrical cell lysis chip, using a DC bias voltage to generate the focused high electric field for cell lysis as well as the electroosmotic flow for cell transport. The previous cell lysis chips apply an AC voltage between micro-gap electrodes for cell lysis and use pumps or valves for cell transport. The present DC chip generates high electrical field by reducing the width of the channel between a DC electrode pair, while the previous AC chips reducing the gap between an AC electrode pair. The present chip performs continuous cell pumping without using additional flow source, while the previous chips need additional pumps or valves for the discontinuous cell loading and unloading in the lysis chambers. The experimental study features an orifice whose width and length is 20 times narrower and 175 times shorter than the width and length of a microchannel. With an operational voltage of 50 V, the present chip generates high electric field strength of 1.2 kV/cm at the orifice to disrupt cells with 100% lysis rate of Red Blood Cells and low electric field strength of 60 V/cm at the microchannel to generate an electroosmotic flow of $30{\mu}m/s{\pm}9{\mu}m/s$. In conclusion, the present chip is capable of continuous self-pumping cell lysis at a low voltage; thus, it is suitable for a sample pretreatment component of a micro total analysis system or lab-on-a-chip.

DC Bias가 인가된 ICPHFCVD를 이용한 탄소나노튜브의 수직 배향과 전계방출 특성 (Vertical Growth of CNTs by Bias-assisted ICPHFCVD and their Field Emission Properties)

  • 본 연구에서는 DC bias가 인가된 유도결합형 플라즈마 열선 화학기상증착법을 이용하여 580$^{\circ}C$의 저온에서 탄소나노튜브를 수직 배향시켰다. 성장된 탄소나노튜브의 기판으로는 강화유리 위에 촉매층으로 Ni과 전도층으로 Cr을 300/200 ${\AA}$(Ni/Cr) 증착된 것으로 R-F magnetron sputtering을 이용하여 제작하였다. 성장 시 RF power와 DC bias power는 150W와 80W이며 텅스텐 필라멘트 power는 7∼8 A로 인가하였다. 성장된 탄소나노튜브는 속이 비어 있는 다중벽으로 이루어 졌으며 성장된 탄소나노튜브 끝단에는 금속 촉매로 보이는 Ni이 존재하는 것을 알 수 있었다. 탄소나노튜브는 흑연화도가 우수하며 그에 따라 탄소나노튜브의 전계 방출 특성도 우수하게 평가되었다. 성장된 탄소나노튜브의 구동 전압은 약 3 V/${\mu}m$이었다.

Operational Characteristics of Superconducting Amplifier using Vortex Flux Flow

  • The operational characteristics of superconducting amplifier using vortex flux flow were analyzed from an equivalent circuit in which its current-voltage characteristics for the vortex motion in YBCO microbridge were reflected. For the analysis of operation as an amplifier, dc bias operational point for the superconducting amplifier is determined and then ac operational characteristics for the designed superconducting amplifier were investigated. The variation of transresistance, which describes the operational characteristics of superconducting amplifier, was estimated with respect to conditions of dc bias. The current and the voltage gains, which can be derived from the circuit for small signal analysis, were calculated at each operational point and compared with the results obtained from the numerical analysis for the small signal circuit. From our paper, the characteristics of amplification for superconducting flux flow transistor (SFFT) could be confirmed. The development of the superconducting amplifier applicable to various devices is expected.

고지향성 압전 트랜스듀서용 새로운 고효율 전력 증폭기 (New High-efficiency Power Amplifier System for High-directional Piezoelectric Transducer)

  • Piezoelectric micro-machined ultrasonic transducers for highly directional speaker need DC bias voltage. Most existing power amplifiers are not suitable for use in highly directional transducers because they are based on AC. In addition, since the piezoelectric micro-machined ultrasonic transducer has a large capacitive reactance, the power efficiency of the power amplifier is very low. Thus this paper proposes a new high efficiency power amplifier with DC bias voltage. In addition, by designing a matching circuit to compensate the capacitive reactance of the micro-machined ultrasonic transducer, the power efficiency of the power amplifier increases. The operating characteristics of the proposed power amplifier was verified by an experimental prototype. The proposed power amplifier is expected to be widely used in designing and implementing other related power amplifiers.
