한국형 고속전철용 추진제어장치 개발 (Development of Propulsion System for Korean High Speed Railway)

  • This paper introduces the propulsion system for Korean High Speed Railway(HSR). The developed propulsion system consists of PWM AC/DC converter and inverter. Compared with TGV-K, converters can improve input harmonics characteristics by the interlaced PW switching methods. And several merits such as unity power factor and simple regenerative operations can be also made. As a main power component, IGCT stack with suitable structure for high speed train and environmentally friendly cooling heat pipe is designed. In this paper, overall configuration of controller and control scheme is briefly described. Finally running tests are made to verify the developed propulsion system. The presented test results shows fast torque response, balanced converter current sharing, and appropriate running sequence.

  • In the end of a production line a new built power converter has to undergo a series of stress tests. This can be achieved by connecting it to a dynamometer consisting of a three-phase machine joined by a rigid shaft to a DC load machine. The latter is controlled to create some specific load characteristic needed for the test. In this paper a test method is proposed, in which no mechanical equipment is needed. The suggested test stand consists only of a converter to be tested and a simulator converter. Both devices are connected back-to-back on the AC-side via smoothing reactors. The simulator operates in real-time as an equivalent load circuit, so that the device under test will only notice the behaviour of a three-phase machine under consideration of the load.

A Novel Seamless Direct Torque Control for Electric Drive Vehicles

  • Electric drive vehicles (EDV) have received much attention recently because of their environmental and energy benefits. In an EDV, the motor drive system directly influences the performance of the propulsion system. However, the available DC voltage is limited, which limits the maximum speed of the motors. At high speeds, the inverter voltage increases if the square wave (SW) voltage (six-step operation) is used. Although conventional direct torque control (DTC) has several advantages, it cannot work in the six-step mode required in high-speed applications. In this paper, a single-mode seamless DTC for AC motors is proposed. In this scheme, the trajectory of the reference flux changes continuously between circular and hexagonal paths. Therefore, the armature voltage changes smoothly from a high-frequency switching pattern to a square wave pattern without torque discontinuity. In addition, because multi-mode controllers are not used, implementation is more straightforward. Simulation results show the voltage pattern changes smoothly when the motor speed changes, and consequently, torque control without torque discontinuity is possible in the field weakening area even with a six-step voltage pattern.

전동차용 접지브러쉬 편중마모에 대한 해석 (Analsis of Preponderant Wear of Earth Brush for an Electrical Multiple Units(EMUs))

  • Earth brush for electrical multiple units(EMUs) is a device through which the current of the EMU load's consumed power fed from the DC 1,500V overhead line (or from the AC 25.000V catenary) flows via axle to the rail(ground) and which prevents the electric corrosion of the axle bearings by preventing the current flow to the axle bearings caused by electric potential from the magnetic field when the bearings rotate together with the earthing function when a thunderbolt falls or a surge comes. The earth brush wear rates among cars, however, shows quite differences when the earth brushes after being separated from the holders are measured with vernier callipers every 6 months of maintenance period. Main causes of the earth brush wear are divided as mechanical, electric arc and electrical one, and the factors can be running speed, current, harmonics, connection state. spring tension, earth brush material, lubricant and so on. but only the earth brushes of the motor(M1) car show the highest wear rate and moreover maintenance difficulty occurs because of the wear rate differences among e earth brushes in one holder. The reason for these preponderant wear comes from the design concept of making preponderant current flow to some particular earth brushes and moreover the heat generated by the harmonics when the inverter starts to operate accelerate the wear. By defining these causes through experiments. I hope that the found results would be helpful for the future EMU design, safety, economy and maintenance.

Electric Model of Li-Ion Polymer Battery for Motor Driving Circuit in Hybrid Electric Vehicle

  • This paper presents an equivalent circuit model of a LIPB (Li-Ion Polymer battery) for Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs). The proposed equivalent circuit can be used to predict the charging/discharging characteristics in time domain as well as the impedance characteristic analysis in frequency domain. Based on these features, a one-cell model is established as a function of Depth of Discharge (DoD), and a 48-cell model for a battery pack was also established. It was confirmed by experiment that the proposed model predict the discharging and impedance (AC) characteristics quite accurately at different constant current levels. To check the usefulness of the proposed circuit, the model was used to simulate a motor driving circuit with an Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor (IGBT) inverter and Brushless DC (BLDC) motor, and it is confirmed that the model can calculate the battery voltage fluctuation in time domain at different DoDs.

  • 최근, 유도전동기 회전속도 제어용 구동 전원으로 인버터와 싸이크로컨버터가 널리 사용되고 있다. 싸이크로컨버터에 의한 전동기 구동은 일정 주파수의 교류전원에서 직접 주파수가 다른 교류로 변환함으로 하드웨어 구성이 인버터 보다 간단하다. 본 연구의 목적은 싸이크로컨버터에 의한 유도전동기 벡터제어 시스템의 제어방법 및 하드웨어 설계를 행하는 것이다. 본 연구에서는 교류 전동기 슬립 주파수형 벡터제어 알고리즘을 도출하고 이 원리에 기초하여 싸이크로컨버터를 이용한 벡터제어 시스템을 구성하였다. 싸이크로컨버터는 1차 입력전류 진폭 $li_1l$ 과 각주파수 $\omega_1$을 지령값으로 진폭변조 제어신호를 발생하여 SCR의 게이터를 트리거한다. 본 벡터제어 시스템은 교류 전동기를 구동한 결과 자속이 일정하게 유지되면서 정회전에서 역회전까지 연속적으로 양호한 운전을 할 수 있었다.

편향요크코일의 에나멜 탈피 및 통전성형을 위한 탈피통전기의 개발 (Development of the controller for peeling off the enamel and forming of deflection yoke coil)

  • Developed controller is the part of deflection yoke winding machine which controls the power to form the deflection yoke coil into desired shape after winding. So as to form the deflection yoke coil, it is needed to melt the bonding material which is spreaded on the coil. The heat melt the bonding material which is produced by flowing the current through the winded coil. Therefore, at first it is needed to peel off the enamel from the winded coil so as to flow the current, and then supply the power to produce the heat which form the winded coil into desired shape. Naturally developed controller is composed of the peeling part and the conduction and forming part. All of them consist of the inverter structure and control the output current. The peeling is achieved by low voltage and high AC current, the conduction and forming is by DC current. Developed controller also has a function that detect the resistance of the deflection yoke coil to prevent the damage of the load which is produced by poor peeling.

  • The technology of Solar Power conversion System is defined as a solar cell that changes the sol ar energy into the direct electric energy, power conversion and control technology that convert the dc power into ac power The solar cell module, power conversion, and a control part in component parts consisting a solar power conversion system have influence on its performance. The roles of power conversion and a control part supply the direct current generated by solar cell module for a load with high efficiency as conveniently as possible in this study, the power conversion systen that can generate solar power using DSC module was developed and its characteristics was experimented. The characteristics of the DSC power conversion system including MOSFET and DSP micro processor, high speed devices, was simulated using Psim. According to the results, converter and inverter was manufactured in detail and the performance characteristics were studied.

  • 본 연구에서는 인버터를 구동하는 용도의 직류전원장치에 대한 제어 알고리즘 개발을 목표로 하고 있으며, 구동과 회생기능을 갖는 전압형 PWM 컨버터에서 운전시 전원의 불평형을 보상하는 제어방법을 제안하고자 한다. 이를 위해 전력회생기능을 갖는 정류기에 대하여 기존 다이오드 및 SCR을 이용한 정류방식과의 비교를 통해 본 제어방식의 우수성을 시뮬레이션과 실험을 통해 입증하고자 한다. 전력변환기가 항상 평형상태를 유지하기 위해 전류제어 루프에 의하여 불평형 상태를 보상하는 방법을 사용하였으며, 통상적으로 전력변환기의 구성시 각상의 리액턴스가 같지 않은 누설변압기 등의 사용을 가능하게 하므로 제안된 전력변환기의 리액턴스가 불평형상태가 되어도 운전시 항상 평형상태로 유지되어 시스템을 안정적으로 구동 시킬 수 있는 제어기법의 설계를 통해 어떤 환경에서도 장치의 안정된 구동특성을 확인하고자 하였다.

On the Calculation of Energy Requirement for Freight Train Reefer Container and Methods of Supplying the Power

  • Recently, securing stable supply of fresh food is deemed as one of the important tasks. Accordingly, now the presence of cold chain along with the needs of a comfortable and healthy life is growing as the online market expands and the contactless industry grows, however, cold chain is being studied only in the aspect of ground and sea transportation. And, due to global warming and strengthening global environmental regulations, we believe that it is necessary to convert the existing road-centered logistics system into a railway-centered logistics system, a low-carbon transportation means. Therefore, in this paper we calculated the maximum energy required by the reefer container as a basic research necessary for constructing the low temperature distribution and cold chain based on the reefer container railway, and conducted a study on methods of supplying the reefer container power utilizing 1. tramline, 2. battery, 3. generator. The results of this paper can be utilized as a foundational study for building a cold chain based on a reefer container dedicated to freight trains in the future.
