  • We demonstrate workflows in biological data retrieval and analysis using the DDBJ Web Service; specifically introduce a workflow for the analysis of proteins or proteomics data sets. The workflow mechanically extracts the gene whose protein structure and function are known from all the genes of a human genome in Ensembl (http://www.ensembl.org/) based on cross-references among Ensembl, Swiss-Prot (http://www.ebi.ac.uk/swissprot) and PDB (Protein Data Bank; http://www.wwpdb.org/). The workflow discovered ‘hidden’ linkages among databases. We will be able to integrate distributed and heterogeneous data systems into workflows, if they are provided based on standards for Web services.

  • The main structures that comprise a tidal power plant are turbine structure, sluice structure, tide embankment and gate. Since these structures are founded on seabed ground, an extensive geotechnical site investigation to evaluate the engineering properties of field soils must be conducted prior to design and construction. According to the results of geotechnical site investigation conducted at the planned site for construction of Incheon bay tidal power plant, soft ground generally lie 7 meters below the seabed surface level. This research suggests the reliable and economical design of foundations and ground improvements required for construction of main structures in Incheon bay tidal power plant, with considerations on field conditions.

  • In this case study, the field investigation work on soft soils like a reclamation area with dredged-clay or intertidal mud flat which has not enough strength to resist the load of surveying machines, the amphibious barge(modified AMFIROL) which travels on land and water was adopted to the field investigation work. Despite of slight increase of cost, it was found that the adoption of amphibious barge in field investigation could improve the quality of test results and avoid the waste of time and some effort.

  • This paper investigates the rank system of official uniforms of Qing dynasty to analyze ethnic characteristics of the official uniforms. As a research document, Qing Huidian Tu(청회전도) has been used. The official uniforms of Qing dynasty were chao-fu(조복), ji-fu(길복), chang-fu(상복), hang-fu(행복), and yu-fu(우복), which were used in different occasions. Each of the five official uniforms had distinct items. For example, chao-fu(조복) consisted of four items: chao-guan(조관), chao-fu(조복), chao-dai(조대), and chao-zhu(조주), and ji-fu(길복) consisted of four items: ji-fu-guan(길복관), long-pao(용포), ji-fu-dai(길복대), and chao-zhu(조주). Each of these items had elements that made distinction between ranks. This research shows that the important elements to make distinction between ranks were textiles, precious stones, patterns and colors, and additionally the number of Bo(보) and the types of Bo(보) were used.

  • S-Benzylthiuronium chloride reacts with ethylene glycol, derived from hydrolysis of the fluorides, to produce a crystalline substances. Using this, the fluorides can be indentified by measuring melting point. And when the zirconium-alizarin solution reacts with ethylenefluoro hydrin or ${\beta}-fluoroethyl$ acetate, the red-violet color disappears to produce a yellow dye, which exhibits absorption maximum at about $530\;m{\mu}$ using the 250-microgram standard. Using these properties, the fluorine compounds can be determined conveniently by this method.

  • This study presents a study on modified algorithm to operating train simulation of AT feeding systems. In this study equivalent impedance is constructed by $Z_c,\;Z_r,\;Z_f,\;Z_{cr},\;Z_{rf},\;Z_{fc}$. The train current flows through the all auto-transformer corresponding to track impedance. To calculate train voltage from analyzing the railway systems, the algorithm is based on the K. C. L, K. V. L, superposition and circuit separation method. Multi-train's voltages are determined by calculating the catenary voltage at each train's position and adding up these train's voltage drop. Case studies use a field operational data, show that the proposed method is easily applied.

  • In 1895(32nd year of King Ko-Jong), Kyung-moo-chung as westernized police system was established and the uniform of the police developed. Regarding to the Uniform of the Kyung-bu-dai-sin(the Minister Kyung-bu) and to that of the Sun-gum(the low position of the Kyung-bu police), the Kyung-bu costume(Uniform of the police) is divided as Ye-bok(Formal uniform) and Sang-bok(Informal uniform). Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is put on in the case of the law described, and Sang-bok(Informal uniform) is an everyday wear. Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is composed of Ye-mo(hat), Eui(jacket), Go(trousers), Dai(decorative belt), Do(decorative sword), and Hwa(footwear). Sang-bok(Informal uniform) is composed of Sang-mo(hat), Eui(jacket), Go(trousers), and Hwa(footwear). Differences between Sang-bok(Informal uniform) and Ye-bok(Formal uniform) is the materials of the ornament, numbers of the decorative lines. Ye-bok(Formal uniform) has more grandeur[ornament. A historic changes in the Kyung-bu costume(Uniform of the police) during the late of Yi Dynasty was little but the decorative materials and the numbers of the decorative line.

  • The founding of ching costume system starts from the rule issued in second year of Te-chong reign that the clothing of Manchu people is prohibited to be chinesized. It has undergone many revisions and is officially established in the 37th year of Chien-lung reign. This study is Emperor's costumes during the year in Chien-lung reign. The results are as follows: Emperor's costumes go to the travel are Chi-fu hat and Hsing-fu. Sea-dragon hat changes on otter skin or beaver hat and Ching-rong and ching-ni hat changes velvet hat. Light green informal wear is to be worn once a year. Name of sacrificial robes does not exist in Ching-hui-dien-tu but it take the place of Chao-fu I and Chao-dai II in Chuan-dai-dang-an. Sacrificial robes wear with indigo boots and the other cases wear blue boots and shoes and socks. The shape on ornaments in belt of sacrificial robes is tetragon style.

  • The Tohoku earthquake (Mw9.0) occurred on March 11, 2011 and caused a large tsunami. The Fukushima Dai-ichi NPP (F1-NPP) were overwhelmed by the tsunami and core damage occurred. This paper describes the overview of F1-NPP accident and the usability of tsunami PRA at Tohoku earthquake. The paper makes reference to the following current issues: influence on seismic hazard of gigantic aftershocks and triggered earthquakes, concepts for evaluating core damage frequency considering common cause failure with correlation coefficient against seismic event at multi units and sites, and concepts of "seismic-tsunami PSA" considering a combination of seismic motion and tsunami effects.

  • Demands of cosmetics are affected not only by the well-known elements such as brand, price, and customer's consumption capacity, but also by some latent factors, for example, weather and air environment. Due to complexity and dynamic changes of the above factors, their influences can hardly be estimated in an accurate way by the traditional approaches such as survey and questionnaires. Through modeling and statistical analysis of big data, this article studied the impacts of weather condition and air quality on customer flow and sales of the cosmetics distributors in China, and found several hidden influencing factors. It provided a big-data based method for the analysis of unconventional factors on cosmetics marketing in the changing weather condition and air environment.
