  • This paper introduces the testbed configuration for telematics wireless communications using terrestrial digital multimedia broadcasting (T-DMB) network. The testbed for telematics wireless communications is consisted of indoor laboratory testbed and outdoor field testbed. As a result of research, are derived testbed configurations for individual function verification at the indoor laboratory and performance test at the outdoor test road. In addition, a return channel configuration is described for interactive protocol as necessary for telematics services using T-DMB.

  • This paper describes IMT-2000 Testbed System which consists of ATM based IMT-2000 exchange(A-lMX), RNC simulator, HLR simulator, SCP simulator, B-ISDN subscriber simulator and MS simulator. Simulators were developed to verify the mobile functions and basic services of IMT-2000 like Videophone, VoD(Video on Demand), and Internet access. UPT(Universal Personal Telecommunication) service could be adapted well to this testbed system. Until the entire network elements are developed fully, this testbed system can be used to prove new services in IMT-2000 network.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing the intention to use Fintech Digital Sand(D-Testbed), which facilitate digital innovation in the financial sectors and allow fintech startups to simulate the PoC their innovative ideas before starting a business. Methods: This study used the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM2), with independent variables such as social influence, personal innovativeness, service quality, relative advantage, and security concerns used in previous studies, for analysis. For mediator variables, the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use were used in this study. Results: The results indicated that social influence and perceived usefulness have a positive effect on the intention to use. It was also analyzed that relative advantage has a mediating effect on perceived usefulness whereas service quality nor personal innovativeness are not statistically significant mediation. On the other hand, perceived ease of use on the intention is not statistically significant. By this, it was confirmed that the intention to use Fintech Digital Sand(D-Testbed) was to improve the business performance of fintech companies, but not because it was easy to learn and take less effort. Conclusion: The finding of the study provides valuable implications for invigorating the use of fintech digital sandbox(D-testbed) and identifying the factors that affect the perception and intention to use among employees in fintech companies in advance.

  • In this paper, preliminary results for design of prototype ADS-ADS-B/TIS-B Validation Testbed (AVT) are described. Automatic Dependent Surveillance (ADS-B) is a novel surveillance concept using the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and a digital datalink. Air traffic information from ADS-B non-equipped aircraft is not acquired since ADS-B is a dependent surveillance. Traffic Information Service-Broadcast (TIS-B) provides surveillance data from Secondary surveillance Radar (SSR) for ADS-B non-equipped aircraft. AVT is based on ADS-B and TIS-B as an integrated platform for air traffic surveillance system for CNS/ATM.

  • The Korean government is pursuing technological development through nearly every government agency, and Korea's growing R&D spending is yielding good results in many fields. With the country moving from the technology development stage to the demonstration stage, it is actively implementing testbed projects to demonstrate developed technologies and services. This is, however, not without problems. There is no consistent systematic system for the testbed projects because government agencies compete against each other in the planning of execution of R&D: they do not work together. The most serious problem is that both testbeds and developed technologies die out due to poor operation management after the completion of test projects. Research should, therefore, be done on operation management and commercialization. However, the government still does not consider the system after the test: it focuses on building testbeds to verify developed technologies. This study intends to determine the basic orientation of operation management to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and continuity of national projects through intensive analysis of ongoing national R&D testbed projects and examination of success stories of operation management at home and abroad.

  • Principal component analysis (PCA) was conducted using hydrochemical data in four testbeds (A to D) built for the development of site characterization technologies to assess the hydrochemical processes controlling the hydrochemistry in each site. The PCA results indicated the nitrogen loading to deep bedrock aquifers through permeable fractures in Testbed A, the chemical weathering enhanced with the biodegradation of petroleum hydrocarbons in Testbed B, the reductive dechlorination in Testbed C, and the different hydrochemistry depending on the depth to bedrock in Testbed D, consistent with the characteristics of each site. In Testbeds B and D, outliers seemed to affect the PCA result probably due to the small number of samples, whereas the PCA result was still consistent with site characteristics. This study result indicates that the PCA is widely applicable to hydrochemical data for the assessment of major hydrochemical processes in contamination sites, which is useful for site characterization when combined with other site characterization technologies, e.g., geological survey, geophysical investigation, borehole logging. It is suggested that PCA is applied in contaminated sites to interpret hydrochemical data not only for the distribution of contamination levels but also for the assessment of major hydrochemical processes and contamination sources.

  • This paper describes the ubiquitous home network (uHome-net) testbed and LonRF intelligent devices based on LonWorks technology. These devices consist of Neuron Chip, RF transceiver, sensor, and other peripheral components. Using LonRF devices, a home control network can be simplified and most devices can be operated on LonWorks control network. Also, Indoor Positioning System (IPS) that can serve various location based services was implemented in uHome-net. Smart Badge of IPS, that is a special LonRF device, can measure the 3D location of objects in the indoor environment. In the uHome-net testbed, remote control service, cooking help service, wireless remote metering service, baby monitoring service and security & fire prevention service were realized. This research shows the vision of the ubiquitous home network that will be emerged in the near future.

  • The manufacturing industry is continuously pursuing advanced technology and smartization as it converges with innovative technology. Improvement of manufacturing productivity is achieved by monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the facilities and processes of the manufacturing site in real time through a network. In this paper, we proposed a new OPC-UA based digital twin model for smart factory facilities. A testbed system for USB flash drive packaging facility was implemented based on the proposed digital twin model and OPC-UA data communication scheme. Through OPC-UA based digital twin model, equipment and process status information is transmitted and received from PLC to monitoring and control 3D digital models and physical models in real time. The usefulness of the developed digital twin testbed system was evaluated through usability test.

  • A compact and broadband $4\times1$ array antenna was developed for 3G smart antenna system testbed. The $4\times1$ uniform linear away antenna was designed to operate at 1.885 to 2.2GHz with a total bandwidth of 315MHz. The array elements were based on the novel broadband L-probe fed inverted hybrid E-H (LIEH) shaped microstrip patch, which offers 22% size reduction to the conventional rectangular microstrip patch antenna. For steering the antenna beam, a commercial variable attenuator (KAT1D04SA002), a variable phase shifter (KPH350SC00) with four units each, and the corporate 4-ways Wilkinson power divider which was fabricated in-house were integrated to form the beamforming feed network. The developed antenna has an impedance bandwidth of 17.32% $(VSWR\leq1.5)$, 21.78% $(VSWR\leq2)$ with respect to center frequency 2.02GHz and with an achievable gain of 11.9dBi. The design antenna offer a broadband, compact and mobile solution for a 3G smart antenna testbed to fully characterized the IMT-2000 radio specifications and system performances.
