도파모드 공진을 이용한 태양전지의 흡수효율 증대 (Enhanced Absorption Efficiency of Solar Cells Using Guided-mode Resonance)

  • 본 논문에서는 실리콘 태양전지의 흡수효율 증가를 위해 도파모드 공진 특성을 이용한 격자 구조를 제안하였다. 도파모드 공진을 이용함으로써 두께를 ~200 nm 수준으로 줄이면서도 높은 흡수율을 기대할 수 있는 태양전지 설계가 가능함을 확인하였다. 제안된 구조는 은으로 된 반사경 위에 격자구조를 갖는 Poly-Si 유전체 층이 존재하는 1-D 구조로서 각 구조변수들 즉 격자의 주기, 유전체 두께, 격자 간격 및 깊이 등이 흡수 효율에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 알아보고, 변수들의 조절을 통해 최적의 구조를 찾고자 시도하였다. PSO알고리즘을 사용하여 제안된 구조의 적절성을 확인 하였으며, 이로부터 65.8%의 유효 흡수율을 얻을 수 있었다.

축류팬 및 슈라우드 개선을 통한 공조기 저소음화에 대한 연구 (Study on Noise Reduction of an Air Conditioner through Modification of Axial Flow Fans and Shrouds)

  • In this paper, a successful result of modification of an axial flow fan and a shroud for noise reduction of a window type air conditioner is presented especially in order to verify the importance of blade shape improvement and the searching for the optimal shape of shrouds. Effective ways to work out the result as mentioned above are to make the tip of the blade varied in thickness and to have special shapes. From the viewpoint of the shape in a shroud, several cases were examined and the particular value of a design parameter of the shroud was acquired to get the best noise reduction of an air conditioner. Through the application of the methods, the air conditioner became less noisy by 4.5 dB(A) in terms of air-borne noise produced only by the axial flow fan and consumed less energy by 20.9% compared to the current one.

  • Turbo-charger noise radiated from air intake part is one of the most important noise sources in diesel power plant. In this paper, intake noise control of the diesel power plant was studied using parallel baffle type silencer and concentric hole-cavity resonator simultaneously. Firstly, acoustical characteristics and attenuation performance for parallel baffle type silencer were investigated through theoretical approach and experimental method. Based on the results, optimal design of the parallel baffle silencer was suggested. Secondly, for reducing the low frequency noise contained in the intake noise, the concentric hole-type resonator was developed and the acoustic performance was verified from the test. By combining two types of silencers, it is expected that the overall insertion loss is about 50 dB. So, the combined silencer is very helpful in reducing the intake noise of diesel power plant.

Effective electromechanical coupling coefficient of adaptive structures with integrated multi-functional piezoelectric structural fiber composites

  • This paper presents a linear computational homogenization framework to evaluate the effective (or generalized) electromechanical coupling coefficient (EMCC) of adaptive structures with piezoelectric structural fiber (PSF) composite elements. The PSF consists of a silicon carbide (SiC) or carbon core fiber as reinforcement to a fragile piezo-ceramic shell. For the micro-scale analysis, a micromechanics model based on the variational asymptotic method for unit cell homogenization (VAMUCH) is used to evaluate the overall electromechanical properties of the PSF composites. At the macro-scale, a finite element (FE) analysis with the commercial FE code ABAQUS is performed to evaluate the effective EMCC for structures with the PSF composite patches. The EMCC is postprocessed from free-vibrations analysis under short-circuit (SC) and open-circuit (OC) electrodes of the patches. This linear two-scale computational framework may be useful for the optimal design of active structure multi-functional composites which can be used for multi-functional applications such as structural health monitoring, power harvest, vibration sensing and control, damping, and shape control through anisotropic actuation.

  • Brake-induced vibrations of a vehicle such as brake judder are determined by the excitation of brake torque variations and by their transfer to the driver's contact points via suspension, body and steering system. The formation of brake torque variation is mainly determined by static and dynamic disk thickness variations. The vibration transfer from the excitation by brake torque variation to the perception by the driver depends on the kinematic and dynamic behaviour of the components in the transfer path. Optimization of the judder performance can be achieved either by minimizing the excitation or by reduction of the judder sensitivity of the vehicle. In this paper, the optimization process of a front rotor is suggested to reduce brake judder considering the cooling performance of the rotor, the judder sensitivity of the vehicle and durability of the rotor.

  • 본 논문에서는 crank-rocker 운동에 의해 함수 y=sinx를 만족시키는 3차원 R-S-S-R 함수발생기구를 FDP(Fletcher-Davidon-Powell) 최적화 기법을 응용, 운동학적 으로 무오차점을 고려, 설계하려고 한다. 한편 상기와 같이 최적 설계된 기구의 실 제 운동과 요구된 운동과의 오차분석 및 운동 가능성 여부(mobility check)를 검토하 였으며 FDP 최적화 기법에 필요한 벌칙함수(penalty function)로써 Fiacco-McCormic- krhk Powell의 벌칙함수를 사용하여 그 결과를 비교하였다.

  • Recently, R&D demand for environmental friendly vehicle has rapidly increased due to its global environmental issues such as global warming, energy and economic crisis. Under this situation, the most realistic alternative way for environmental friendly vehicle is a clean diesel vehicle. The common-rail fuel injection system, as key technology of clean diesel vehicle, consists of a high pressure pump, common-rail, high pressure fuel line and electronic control injector. In common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system, high pressure wave of injection system and geometry of injector elements have a major effects on high-pressure fuel spray. Therefore, in this study, the numerical model was developed for analysis about the common-rail fuel pressure pulsation by using AMESim code. We could secure stability of common-rail high-pressure fuel injection system through optimal design of fuel line.

An Interactive Approach Based on Genetic Algorithm Using Ridden Population and Simplified Genotype for Avatar Synthesis

  • In this paper, we propose an interactive genetic algorithm (IGA) to implement an automated 2D avatar synthesis. The IGA technique is capable of expressing user's personality in the avatar synthesis by using the user's response as a candidate for the fitness value. Our suggested IGA method is applied to creating avatars automatically. Unlike the previous works, we introduce the concepts of 'hidden population', as well as 'primitive avatar' and 'simplified genotype', which are used to overcome the shortcomings of IGA such as human fatigue or reliability, and reasonable rates of convergence with a less number of iterations. The procedure of designing avatar models consists of two steps. The first step is to detect the facial feature points and the second step is to create the subjectively optimal avatars with diversity by embedding user's preference, intuition, emotion, psychological aspects, or a more general term, KANSEI. Finally, the combined processes result in human-friendly avatars in terms of both genetic optimality and interactive GUI with reliability.

내덴트성 향상을 위한 고강도 도어 외판 개발 (Development of Door Outer Panel using High Strength Steel Sheet for Improving Dent Resistance)

  • Dent resistance is an important characteristic to avoid damage on automotive outer panels. From a practical point of view, dents can be caused in a number of ways. Considering doors as an example, denting can occur from stone impacts or from the careless opening of an adjacently parked vehicle door. Denting can occur where the door surface is smooth and may not have sufficient curvature to resist dent. These exterior body parts are designed to improve dent resistance using a combination of work hardening and bake hardening. In brief, dent is affected by the shape of the parts and the material properties such as yield strength, strain and thickness. In this work, forming of door outer panel is investigated by Taguchi method. Main parameters are yield strength, thickness, blank size, blank holding force and so on. For the given value of design parameters, forming analysis of the eighteen cases are carried out according to L18 orthogonal array. After comparing the performance by simple conversion of simulation results into dent resistance, the final suggestion of the forming parameters is verified for the optimal improvement of dent resistance.

  • 내파성 연승식 양식시설은 케이블-부이-중량물 계류시스템으로 이루어졌다. 양식시설의 최적설계를 위해서는 계류선과 부이나 중량물 연결점에서 장력등의 추정이 필요하다. 그러나 계류선의 비선형적인 거동과 파 해류 등의 영향은 해석을 어렵게 한다. 본 논문에서는 여러 거지 부이-중량물을 갖는 케이블-부이-중량물 계류시스템에 대한 파라메트릭 연구를 통하여 동장력 변화 및 거동 변화 등을 알아보았다. 고유진동수 해석을 위하여 유한차분법을 도입하였으며, 비선형 유체항력은 선형화 되었다.
