Fuzzy Model Identification using a mGA Hybrid Schemes (mGA의 혼합된 구조를 사용한 퍼지 모델 동정)

  • This paper presents a systematic approach to the input-output data-based fuzzy modeling for the complex and uncertain nonlinear systems, in which the conventional mathematical models may fail to give the satisfying results. To do this, we propose a new method that can yield a successful fuzzy model using a mGA hybrid schemes with a fine-tuning method. We also propose a new coding method fo chromosome for applying the mGA to the structure and parameter identifications of fuzzy model simultaneously. During mGA search, multi-purpose fitness function with a penalty process is proposed and adapted to guarantee the accurate and valid fuzzy modes. This coding scheme can effectively represent the zero-order Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model. The proposed mGA hybrid schemes can coarsely optimize the structure and the parameters of the fuzzy inference system, and then fine tune the identified fuzzy model by using the gradient descent method. In order to demonstrate the superiority and efficiency of the proposed scheme, we finally show its applications to two nonlinear systems.

Temperature Dependent Cation Distribution in Tb2Bi1Ga1Fe4O12

  • In this study, heavy rare earth garnet $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$ powders were fabricated by a sol-gel and vacuum annealing process. The crystal structure was found to be single-phase garnet with a space group of Ia3d. The lattice constant $a_0$ was determined to be 12.465 ${\AA}$. From the analysis of the vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM) hysteresis loop at room temperature, the saturation magnetization and coercivity of the sample are 7.64 emu/g and 229 Oe, respectively. The N$\acute{e}$el temperature($T_N$) was determined to be 525 K. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum of $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$ at room temperature consists of 2 sets of 6 Lorentzians, which is the pattern of single-phase garnet. From the results of the M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer spectrum at room temperature, the absorption area ratios of Fe ions on 24d and 16a sites are 74.7% and 25.3%(approximately 3:1), respectively. These results show that all of the non-magnetic Ga atoms occupy the 16a site by a vacuum annealing process. Absorption area ratios of Fe ions are dependent not only on a sintering condition but also on the temperature of the sample. It can then be interpreted that the Ga ion distribution is dependent on the temperature of the sample. The M$\ddot{o}$ssbauer measurement was carried out in order to investigate the atomic migration in $Tb_2Bi_1Ga_1Fe_4O_{12}$.

The decay behavior of $^5D_0$ emission was anMyzed by a newly Iuoposed cross-relaxation mech-ani8In in asswiation with inteFwnter di1ffision (or migration). The cross-mlaxation from $^5D_0$ to CTB (Cha'geTransfer Band) wuld be a quite retsonable by considering the excitation spectrum. It could be also found thatthe quenching type was changed from ditfrsion controlled process to the direct quenching process -s inJeasing $Eu^{3+}$ oncntration.

Effects of Socheongryongtang-ga-seoggo and Prescription D on Airway Mucin Secretion (소청룡탕가석고(小靑龍湯加石膏) 및 ${\ll}$석실비록${\gg}$소치법방(小治法方)이 호흡기 점액의 분비에 미치는 영향)

  • Objectives : In the present study, the author intended to investigate whether two oriental medical prescriptions named Socheongryongtang-ga-seoggo (SCTS) and Prescription D (P-D) significantly affect mucin release from cultured hamster tracheal surface epithelial (HTSE) cells. Materials and Methods : Confluent HTSE cells were metabolically radiolabeled with 3H-glucosamine for 24 hrs and chased for 30 min in the presence of SCTS or P-D to assess the effect of each agent on 3H-mucin release. Possible cytotoxicities of each agent were assessed by measuring lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release. Also, the effects of SCTS and P-D on contractility of isolated tracheal smooth muscle were investigated. Results : SCTS did not affect mucin release from cultured HTSE cells, without cytotoxicity. However, P-D significantly increased mucin release from cultured HTSE cells. with significant cytotoxicity. SCTS inhibited Ach-induced contraction of isolated tracheal smooth muscle. P-D also inhibited Ach-induced contraction of isolated tracheal smooth muscle. Conclusions : The author suggests that the effects of SCTS and P-D with their components should be further investigated and it is valuable to find, from oriental medical prescriptions, novel agents which might regulate mucin secretion from airway goblet cells.

  • Eu sites and the effect of Mg codoping were investigated in Eu-implanted GaN films. Photoluminescence (PL) and PL excitation spectroscopies were performed on 620nm $^5D_0\;{\rightarrow}\;^7F_2$ Eu ionic level transition and revealed the existence of 4 different Eu sites including the known 2 sites. PL intensity from one of the sites increased by a factor of 1.6 by the Mg-codoping. The enhancement of PL by Mg-codoping was less pronounced than Er- and Nd-implanted GaN, in which the trap-mediated energy transfer dominates. In GaN:Eu the above-gap excitation transfers the energy directly to the Mg related Eu site.

Design and Fabrication of S-Band GaN SSPA for a Radar (레이더용 S대역 GaN 반도체 전력증폭기 설계 및 제작)

  • In this paper, a design and fabrication of GaN power amplifier for the S-band frequency (400 MHz bandwidth) are presented. A combining path using ${\lambda}$/4 transmission line is implemented for GaN pallet amp. Both the combiner with suspended-type transmission structure for low-loss and the suspended stripline coupler with aperture coupling for auto gain control are realized for achieving high-power high-efficiency amplifier. Proposed power amplifier demonstrated a 5 kW peak output power, 27.8 % efficiency, 67 dB gain without ALC and a 4 kW peak output power, 25.5 % efficiency, 0.1 dB droop at 200 usec pulse width and 10 % duty with ALC.

  • Gallium nitride (GaN) can be used in high-voltage, high-power-density/-power, and high-speed devices owing to its characteristics of wide bandgap, high carrier concentration, and high electron mobility/saturation velocity. In this study, we investigate the technology trends for X-/Ku-band GaN RF power devices and MMIC power amplifiers, focusing on gate-length scaling, channel structure, and power density for GaN RF power devices and output power level and output power density for GaN MMIC power amplifiers. Additionally, we review the technology trends in gallium arsenide (GaAs) RF power devices and MMIC power amplifiers and analyze the technology trends in RF power devices and MMIC power amplifiers based on both GaAs and GaN. Furthermore, we discuss the current direction of national research by examining the national and international technology trends with respect to X-/Ku-band power devices and MMIC power amplifiers.

  • Design principles for high-brightness ligh-temitting diodes have been derived by using escape cone concepts. Based on the design principles, some important high-brightness LED structures developed thus far have been reviewed and, in addition, their external coupling efficiencies have also been estimated. In AlGaAs or InGaAIP LEDs, in which photon absorption in the ohmic electrodes is known to be serious, photon shielding by the electrodes is minimized by using window layer (WL) as well as transparent substrate (TS) leading to significantly improved light-emitting efficiency. However, in InGaN LEDs emitting blue to green lights, the photon absorption in ohmic contact to wide bandgap GaN may be negligible and therefore, photon shielding by the electrodes would not lead to as significant problems as in conventional In AIGaAs or InGaAIP LEDs.

  • A dadaptive refinement tetrahedron mesh has been presented for using in full band GaAs monte carlo simulation. A uniform tetrahedron mesh is used without regard to energy values and energy variety in case of the past full band simulation. For the uniform tetrahedron mesh, a fine tetrahedron is demanded for keeping up accuracy of calculation in the low energy region such as .GAMMA.-valley, but calculation time is vast due to usin gthe same tetrahedron in the high energy region. The mesh of this study, thererfore, is consisted of the fine mesh in the low energy and large variable energy region and rough mesh n the high energy. The density of states (DOS) calculated with this mesh is compared with the one of the uniform mesh. The DOS of this mesh is improved th efive times or so in root mean square error and the ten times in the correlation coefficient than the one of a uniform mesh. This refinement mesh, therefore, can be used a sthe basic mesh for the full band GaAs monte carlo simulation.

  • Glycyrrhizin (18$\beta$-glycyrrhetic acid $\beta$-D-glucuronyl a-D-glucuronic acid, GL), a main component of liquore extract (Glycyrrhiza glabra), is ingested orally as a component in the oriental medicine. By human intestinal bacteria, glycyrrhizin (18$\beta$-glycyrrhetinic acid $\beta$-D-glucuronyl a-D-glucuronic acid, GL) was metabolized to glycyrrhetinic acid (GA): main pathway metabolizing GL to GA by glucuronidases of Bacteroides J-37 (Kim et al., 1997) and Eubacterium sp strain GLH (Akao et al., 1987) and minor pathway metabolizing GL to GA via 18$\beta$-glycyrrhetic acid D-glucuronic acid (GAMG) by $\beta$-glucuronidase of Streptococcus LJ-22 and glucuronidases of Bacteroides J-37 / E. coli. $\beta$-Glucuronidase from Streptococcus LJ-22 hydrolyzed GL to GAMG, not GA. $\beta$-Glucuronidase of Streptococcus LJ-22 hydrolyzed $\beta$-glucuronic acid conjugates of polysaccharides rather than aglycone-$\beta$-glucuronides Optimal pH of Streptococcus LJ-22 $\beta$-glucuronidase was 5-6 and its molecular weight was 250 kDaltons. Km for GL was 0.37mM.
