An free breathing proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) was developed. This paper presents a study of the several effect on the performance of a fuel cell such as air flow rate, opening ratio, and cathode structures. Especially, an air flow rate is critical condition to improve the fuel cell performance. In this paper, we developed a synthetic jet micro air blower to supply high stoichiometric air. The synthetic jet actuation is usually generated by a traditional PZT-driven actuator, which consists of a small cylindrical cavity, orifices and PZT diaphragms. In comparison with free convection fuel cells, the forced-convection fuel cell which equipped synthetic jet micro air blower brings higher performance and stability for long term test. Also, power consumption of the synthetic jet micro air blower is under 0.3W. The results show that the maximum power density was $188mW/cm^2$ at $400mA/cm^2$. The maximum power density was higher 40% than power density of free convection fuel cell.

This paper presents a micro air pump actuated by PZT actuator (synthetic jet actuator) for air supply for micro fuel cells. The synthetic jet actuators are usually created by a traditional PZT-driven actuator, which consists of a small cylindrical cavity, in/outlet channel and PZT diaphragms. To design the micro air pump, a numerical analysis has been conducted for flow characteristics with respect to various geometries. A prototype of the micro air pump, with a size of $mm{\times}mm{\times}mm$, was fabricated by PDMS replication process and was conducted performance test. To control the PZT actuator, we used the SP4423 micro chips that can be amplified input voltage to reduce the controller size and the power consumption. With a voltage of 3V at 100Hz, the air pump's pumping pressure is 600pa and its power consumption is only 0.1mW.
In the present paper author investigated the symptom, pathogenic fungus and pathogenicity of Endothia canker of Carpinus laxiflora in Korea, and made clear the indistinct discription on its pathogen in the past. 1. The pathogen is identified as Endothia fluens (Schw.) Shear et Stevens. The discription is recorded as follows: Stromata cortical, erumpent, spherical or conical, outer yellowish-brown and inner yellowish, 0.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter; perithecia irregularly embeded in the bottom of stroma, 7 to 23 in a stroma usually spherical to elliptical or irregular, 235 to $370{\mu}$ in diameter, with black slender necks; each neck open the papilliate ostiole to the surface, about 250 to $400{\mu}$ in length; asci clavate or fusoid, colorless, 31.16 to 42.64 by 6.54 to $8.20{\mu}$ in size, average 37.02 by $6.84{\mu}$, with 8 ascospores in double line; ascospores elliptical, ovate or cylindrical, with rounded ends, hyaline, 1-septate, not constrict at the septum, 6.51 to 9.30 by 3.16 to $3.72{\mu}$, average 7.61 by $3.44{\mu}$ in size; pycnidia formed abundantly in stroma. spherical at first but later irregular large cavity by fussing each other; pycnospores oblong or rod-shaped, hyaline, non-septate, 3.8 by $1.9{\mu}$ in size; spore-horn formed abundantly under moist condition. 2. The pathogen is wound parasite invading the hosts through the wound. But after the infection is established, expanding the disease lesion is swiftly vigorus.
Any detector inserted into a phantom should have such a geometry that it caused as small as possible perturbation of the electron fluence. Plane parallel chambers meet this requirement better than other chambers of configurations. IAEA protocol recommends the use of plane parallel chambers for this reason. However, the cylindrical chambers are widely used for convenient. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the absorbed dose due to the differences of four different dosimetry protocols such as IAEA protocol using cylindrical chamber, TG 21 protocol using cylindrical chamber, Markus protocol using plane parallel chamber, and TG 39 report for the calibration of plane parallel chamber in electron beams. Depth-ionization measurements for the electron beams of nominal energy 6, 9, 12, 15, and 18 MeV from Siemens accelerator with a 10$\times$10 cm$^2$ field size were made using a radiation field analyser with 0.125 cc ion chamber. Dosimetric measurements by IAEA and TG 21 protocol were made with a farmer type ionization chamber in solid water for each electron energy, respectively. Dosimetric measurements by Markus protocol were made with a plane parallel ionization chamber in solid water for each electron energy, respectively. The cavity-gas calibration factor for the plane parallel chamber was obtained with the use of 18 MeV electron beam as guided by TG 39 report. Dosimetric measurements by TG 39 were performed with a plane parallel ionization chamber in solid water for each electron energy, respectively. For all the energies and protocols, measurements were made along the central axis of the distance of 100 cm (SSD = 100 cm) with 10$\times$10 cm$^2$ field size at the depth of d$_{max}$ for each electron beam, respectively. In the case of 18 MeV, the discrepancy of 0.9 % between IAEA and TG 21 was found and the two protocols were agreed within 0.7 % for other energies. In the case of 18 MeV and 6 MeV, the discrepancies of $\pm$ 0.8 % between Markus and TG 39 was found, respectively and the two protocols were agreed within 0.5 % for other energies. Since the discrepancy of 1.6 % between cylindrical and plane parallel chamber was found for 18 MeV, it is suggested to get the calibration factor using other method as guided. by TG 39.9.
Competition will usually develop between the opposing walls as the restorative resin shrinks during polymerization. Magnitude of this phenomenon may be depended upon cavity configuration and volume. The purpose of this sturdy was to evaluate the effect of cavity configuration and volume on microleakage of composite resin restoration that has margins on the enamel site only. The labial enamel of forty bovine teeth was ground using a model trimmer to expose a flat enamel surface. Four groups with cylindrical cavities were defined, according to volume and configuration factor(Depth x Diameter / C-factor) - Group I : 1.5 mm ${\times}$ 2.0 mm / 4.0, Group II : 1.5 mm ${\times}$ 6.0 mm / 2.0, Group III : 2.Omm ${\times}$ 1.72 mm / 5.62, Group IV : 2.0 mm ${\times}$ 5.23 mm / 2.54. After treating with fifth-generation one-bottle adhesive - BC Plus$^{TM}$ (Vericom, AnYang, Korea), cavities were bulk flted with microhybrid composite resin - Denfill$^{TM}$ (Vericom). Teeth were stored in distilled water for one day at room temperature and were finished and polished with Sof-Lex system. Specimens were thermocycled 500 times between 5$^{\circ}$C and 55$^{\circ}$C for 30 second at each temperature. Teeth were isolated with two layers of nail varnish except the restoration surface and 1 mm surrounding margins. Electrical conductivity (${\mu}$A) was recorded in distilled water by electrochemical method. Microleakage scores were compared and analyzed using two-way ANOVA at 95% level. The results were as follows: 1. Small cavity volume showed lower microleakage score than large one, however, there was no statistically significant difference. 2. There was no relationship between cavity configuration and microleakage. Factors of cavity configuration and volume did not affect on microleakage of resin restorations with enamel margins only.

The quality factors for cylindrical ionization chambers for kV X-rays were determined by Monte Carlo calculation and measurement. In this study, the X-rays of 60-300 kV beam (lSO-4037) installed in KFDA and specified in energy spectra and beam qualities, and the chambers of PTW N23333 and N30001 were investigated. In calculations, the $R_{\mu}\;and\;R_{Q,Q_{0}}$ in IAEA dosimetry protocols were determined from the air kerma and the cavity dose obtained by theoretical and Monte Carlo calculations. It is shown that the N30001 chamber has a flat response of $\pm1.7\%$ in $110\~300kV$ region, while the response range of two chambers were shown to $\pm3\~4\%$ in $80\~250kV$ region. From this work we have discussed dosimetry protocol for the kV X-rays and we have found that the estimation of energy dependency is more important to apply dosimetry protocol for kV X-rays.

Dens evaginatus is a tooth with cylindrical enamel projection which forms a nodule on occlusal surface. It could be explained as outward overgrowth of inner enamel epithelium or localized hyperplasia of pulpal mesenchymal tissue during tooth development. A problem is that it is likely to be worn out or fractured by mastication ensuing pulpal inflammation. It is occasionally found on the lingual surface of upper anterior teeth as well, called talon cusp. Dens invaginatus is a tooth with deep lingual pit made by invagination of lingual enamel epithelium during tooth development while it is considered normal in terms of size and shape. Radiographically, a part of cervical enamel shows inward growth forming cavity and it is reasonable to say that the base is possibly open to pulpal cavity since they are very close. Talon cusp and dens invaginatus are relatively common abnormality of shape. However it becomes the opposite if the two exist in the same tooth. Once the talon cusp is broken by occlusal force or fissure between cusps is decayed, the complicated structure of canals makes the pulpal treatment difficult. Preventive treatments such as occlusal equilibrium and sealant, and regular oral examination should be preceded and thorough understanding of canal shape, using radiography, is required when pulpal treatment is necessary. This report is about a 9- year-old boy(lower left central incisor), a 8-year-old girl(upper right central incisor), and a 7-year-old boy(upper right central incisor), who have dens invaginatus and talon cusp in the same teeth. The first and the second patients are under pulpal treatments, and the last one is being observed showing no pathologic impressions.
This study was carried out to investigate the histological changes after the infection of nuclear and cytoplasmic polyhedrosis viruses(NPV, CPV) and the resistance to the viruses in various varieties of the silkworm fed on artificial diet. The results obtained were as follows; Among four varieties of silkworm tested, Jam 107$\times$Jam 108 was more resistant than the other varieties tested and Jam 119$\times$Jam 120 was the most resistant to CPV. In case of peroral infection with NPV, Jam 107$\times$Jam 108 showed lower mortality than the remained varieties in low concentration (104/ml). However, all varieties showed high mortality as the concentration of viruses was increased. With infection of CPV, the varieties showed high mortality at the concentration of 107 and 108/ml, while Jam 119$\times$Jam 120 showed the lowest mortality at virus concentration of 104/ml. The fat bodies, epidermal cells and tracheal epithelial cells showed high susceptibility to NPV to break the cells completely and liberate the debris to the body cavity. The CPV infected only the cylindrical cells of mid-gut and formed polyhedrons. In some cells, CPV was liberated to gastral cavity. In the electrophoretic pattern of hemolymph protein of silkworm larvae infected with NPV, bands were dimmed and disappeared as symptom aggravated after infection. Electrophoretic pattern of homolymph proteins of silkworm larvae infected with CPV showed no numerical difference at the later stage of infection, and one or two bands was observed along with lowering the concentrations.

A new macroscopic riverine red algal species, Lemanea manipurensis sp. nov. (Batrachospermales) is described from Manipur in northeast India. It has a sparsely branched, pseudoparenchymatous thallus with a single, central axial filament that lacks cortical filaments. Spermatangia occur generally in isolated, low and indistinct patches or form an almost continuous ring around the axis. Carposporophytes project into the hollow thallus cavity without an ostiole. The most striking morphological feature is the carposporophyte with very short gonimoblast filaments having cylindrical, narrow and sparsely branched sterile filaments, the terminal cell of each branch with a single, large, elongate carpospore. The widely distributed L. fluviatilis has spherical carpospores in long branched chains. Phylogenetic analysis of rbcL sequence data and comparison with other Batrachospermales clearly show that our specimens do not align with other species of Lemanea and Paralemanea investigated thus far. Five specific names attributed in previous literature (1973-2014) to Lemanea from Manipur, L. australis, L. catenata, L. fluviatilis, L. mamillosa, and L. torulosa are rejected until critical anatomical and molecular evidence is available for specimens from the Manipur river systems. Taxa referable to Paralemanea were not confirmed for India in this study. In view of the high demand for food and medical uses of L. manipurensis in northeast India, conservation measures are needed for its long term survival. The present paper constitutes the first combined morphological / molecular study on a freshwater red alga from India.
Effects of the post-annealing temperature of CeO$_2$ buffer layers on the properties of YBCO films on CeO$_2$-buffered sapphire were investigated. 45 nm-thick CeO$_2$ buffer layer was prepared in-situ on r-cut sapphire using an on-axis rf magnetron sputtering method, which was later post-annealed at temperatures between 950$^{\circ}$C and 1100$^{\circ}$C in an oxygen-flowing environment. YBCO films were prepared on CeO$_2$-buffered sapphire (CbS), for which the surface morphology, crystal structures and electrical properties of the YBCO films were studied. YBCO films on post-annealed CbS appeared to have better properties than those on as-grown CbS with regard to the morphological, structural and electrical properties when the YBCO films were prepared on CeO$_2$ buffer layer post-annealed at temperatures of 1000 - 1050$^{\circ}$C. A TE$_{011}$ mode rutileloaded cylindrical cavity resonators was fabricated with the YBCO films placed as the endplates, for which the unloaded Q of the resonator was measured. It turned out that the resonator with the endplates prepared from the YBCO films on postannealed CbS at 1000 $^{\circ}$C showed the highest unloaded Q with the value more than 8 ${\times}$ 10$^5$ at 30 K and 8.6 CHz, revealing that the YBCO films on post-annealed CbS at 1000$^{\circ}$C the temperature could be the lowest among the YBCO films on post-annealed CbS.
