양로드형과 편로드형 EHA의 힘 제어 특성 비교(II): 역구동성 (Comparison of Force Control Characteristics between Double-Rod and Single-Rod Type Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators (II): Back-Drivability)

  • In this study, the back-drivability of the single-rod and double-rod type EHAs (Electro-Hydrostatic Actuators) was compared by computer simulation and experiments. The back-drivability of EHAs exhibit non-linear behavior like their force tracking performance. In case of the double-rod type EHA, the back-drivability was mostly influenced by the bulk modulus of oil that changes with the working pressure due to entrapped air. The back-drivability of the single-rod type EHA was directly affected by the operation states of its pilot-operated check valves, while the asymmetrical piston geometry and the non-linear bulk modulus of oil also made the dynamic response in building up the cylinder pressure dependent on the operating conditions.

  • The hydraulic cylinder is used for actuating the roller-link type rotating floodgate which controls the volume of water in the reservoir. The locating points of hydraulic cylinder are restricted to the limited space and determined to minimize the cylinder force necessary for actuating the floodgate. Generally, the head end point of cylinder is fixed at underground and the rod end point of cylinder is connected to the support link. Therefore there exist three design variables to be determined to minimize the cylinder force within the rotating range of floodgate. First, the mathematical model of the roller-link type rotating floodgate is derived to find the cylinder force corresponding to the floodgate angle. Then, the optimal locating point of hydraulic cylinder is searched using the complex method that is one kind of constrained direct search method.

  • In this paper, flashover characteristics of air in the vertical arrangement of cylinder-shaped rod and plane gap in the case of combustion flame on the plane electrode were examined under the application of a.c. and d.c. high-voltages. In order to investigate the effect of propane flame on the flashover characteristics of air, flashover voltages in accordance with the variation of the gap length and the horizontal distance between the flame and the high-voltage rod electrode were measured. As the result of the experiment, flashover voltages in the presence of the flame were substantially lowered than those in the absence of flame, and the polarity effects with the d.c. voltages on appeared owing to the flame. Flashover voltages of air were increased in the proportion of the gap length and the horizontal distance in the case of both a.c. and d.c. voltages, but the flame was extinguished by such corona wind that was produced from the rod electrode when the gap length and the horizontal distance reached to a certain degree.

Therefore there exist three parameters to be determined to minimize the cylinder force in the operation range of sluice gate.   • For dismantling heavy structure under special environment in radioactivity, there are many problems which should be tele-operated and feedback a cutting force for cutting a thick structure such as concrete. When operator dismantles a thick heavy concrete structure, it is in sufficient to judge whether robot is contacting or not with environment by using only vision information. To overcome this problem, force feedback and impedance model based bilateral control are introduced. The sliding mode control with sliding perturbation observer (SMCSPO) based bilateral control is applied and surveyed to a single rod hydraulic cylinder in this paper. The sliding mode control is used for robustness against a disturbance. The sliding perturbation observer is used for estimation of a reaction force such as cutting force. The bilateral control is executed using the information of reaction force estimated by SMCSPO. The contribution of this paper is that the estimation method and bilateral control of the single rod hydraulic cylinder are introduced and discussed by experiment.

  • The connecting rod bearing, which is subjected to periodical dynamic loading, is an impoRant component of the reciprocating engine. In the operation of this bearing, significant parameters are the oil film thickness and the film pressure. Peak film pressures of 20-30 MPa are not uncommon. So the elastic deformation of the bearing housing can have a significant effect on the bearing performance. In this study, a numerical analysis of connecting rod bearing is investigated. Elastic deformation of the bearing housing is considered in the analysis. Separate hydrodynamic and structural analysis are coupled through a direct iterative process. It is shown that as the result of the elastic deformation of the bearing housing, the eccentricity ratio is increased, and the minimum value of the minimum film thickness and the maximum value of the maximum film pressure are decreased. The variations of rotational speed and cylinder pressure affect the minimum film thickness and the maximum film pressure variations of the connecting rod bearing.

  • To reduce lateral force of traditional plunger type piston in the swash plate type hydraulic piston pumps and motors, we have proposed rod type piston with ball joint on both ends. We have studied the theoretical reaction force on two types of piston moving in the cylinder block bore. and made an experiment for the resistance force measurement on a reciprocating motion of plunger and rod type piston, changing the test condition such as swash plate angel and supply oil pressure and so on. As a result. a rod type piston has more smaller resistance force, about 29%. than a plunger type one.

신경 제어 기법을 이용한 ER 밸브-실린더 시스템의 위치 제어 (Position Control of ER Valve-Cylinder System Via Neural Control Technique)

  • This paper presents an active position control of a single-rod cylinder system featuring an electrorheological(ER) fluid-based valve. The ER fluid consisting of silicone oil and chemically treated particles is firstly composed and its Bingham property is tested as a function of imposed electric field. A multi-channel plate type of ER valve is then designed and manufactured on the basis of the field-dependent Bingham model. Performance test of the ER valve is undertaken by evaluating pressure drop with respect to the number of electrode as well as the intensity of the electric field. Subsequently, the ER valve-cylinder system is constructed and its governing equation of motion is derived. A neural control scheme for position control of the cylinder is formulated by incorporating proportional-plus-derivative(PD) controller and implemented. Experimental results of both regulating and tracking control responses are presented in order to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed ER valve-cylinder control system.

고성능 씰리스 실린더의 해석 및 누설유량 시험 (An Analysis and Test for Leakage Flow of Sealless Cylinder)

  • The cylinder without seal has a piston with air bearing which is partly cylindrical and conical shape. The description of system geometry is deviation by the flow rate equation. Then pressure distribution and bearing force equations are derived. Several non-dimensional parameters are suggested. The relationship among bearing force, leakage flow and geometry of the bearing is investigated by simulation. And determination method for optimal design of sealless cylinder is given. A prototype of sealless cylinder which had rod bearing with four pockets, five pockets, and six pockets was built respectively. As a result of leakage flow test, it is evaluation to air bearing in sealless cylinder.

Identification of Motion Platform Using the Signal Compression Method with Pre-Processor and Its Application to Siding Mode Control

  • In case of a single input single output (SISO) system with a nonlinear term, a signal compression method is useful to identify a system because the equivalent impulse response of linear part from the system can be extracted by the method. However even though the signal compression method is useful to estimate uncertain parameters of the system, the method cannot be directly applied to a unique system with hysteresis characteristics because it cannot estimate all of the two different dynamic properties according to its motion direction. This paper proposes a signal compression method with a pre-processor to identify a unique system with two different dynamics according to its motion direction. The pre-processor plays a role of separating expansion and retraction properties from the system with hysteresis characteristics. For evaluating performance of the proposed approach, a simulation to estimate the assumed unknown parameters for an arbitrary known model is carried out. A motion platform with several single-rod cylinders is a representative unique system with two different dynamics, because each single-rod cylinder has expansion and retraction dynamic properties according to its motion direction. The nominal constant parameters of the motion platform are experimentally identified by using the proposed method. As its application, the identified parameters are applied to a design of a sliding mode controller for the simulator.
