Noise Reduction by Using Eigenfilter in Cyclic Prefix System Based on SNR (SNR에 기초한 순환적 전치 부호를 가지는 시스템에서 고유필터를 사용한 잡음 제거)

  • In this paper, we propose the noise reduction method by using the eigenfilter in cyclic prefix system based on SNR. To obtain the signal eigenvectors for the eigenfiltering, we propose a method of obtaining the autocorrelation matrix by exploiting the circulant property of the received block which results from the cyclic extension of the OFDM symbol. Since the structures of the transmitter and the receiver are not changed, the proposed method is easy to apply to the conventional OFDM system. To verify the proposed method, we evaluate the persistency of excitation (POE) criterion for the input and demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in the simulation results.

Fast GPU Implementation for the Solution of Tridiagonal Matrix Systems (삼중대각행렬 시스템 풀이의 빠른 GPU 구현)

  • With the improvement of computer hardware, GPUs(Graphics Processor Units) have tremendous memory bandwidth and computation power. This leads GPUs to use in general purpose computation. Especially, GPU implementation of compute-intensive physics based simulations is actively studied. In the solution of differential equations which are base of physics simulations, tridiagonal matrix systems occur repeatedly by finite-difference approximation. From the point of view of physics based simulations, fast solution of tridiagonal matrix system is important research field. We propose a fast GPU implementation for the solution of tridiagonal matrix systems. In this paper, we implement the cyclic reduction(also known as odd-even reduction) algorithm which is a popular choice for vector processors. We obtained a considerable performance improvement for solving tridiagonal matrix systems over Thomas method and conjugate gradient method. Thomas method is well known as a method for solving tridiagonal matrix systems on CPU and conjugate gradient method has shown good results on GPU. We experimented our proposed method by applying it to heat conduction, advection-diffusion, and shallow water simulations. The results of these simulations have shown a remarkable performance of over 35 frame-per-second on the 1024x1024 grid.

  • A technique is illustrated for the selection of basis rows from a cyclic prime implicant table. This technique is more systematic and effective than a trial and process, and the results of this technique agree well with the ones solved by Gimpel's Luccio's reduction technique.

  • Cyclic voltammetry has been applied in the basic studies for the treatment and recovery of heavy metal component contained in wastewater by electrochemical reduction. The electrochemical behaviors of zinc ion for zinc metal electrode and carbon elec-trode were characterized by voltammograms and it was showed that zinc ions were reduced to metallic form below -0.76 V vs SHE. The change in the features of crystalline form of metallic zinc upon oxidation and reduction reaction was observed by X-ray diffraction method and the Am analysis verified that zinc ions were reduced to metal on copper plate. The results of this study were regarded to be important and meaningful in the treatment of heavy metal containing wastewater and, as a result, in the obtainment of metallic product by electrochemical method.

  • This paper contains two algorithms proposed for synchronization in OFDM system. The first is having 1 symbol offset while calculating the timing metric, and the second is introduced in new parameter such as Reduction Factor(${\rho}$), Break Constant(${\beta}_k$) and Implant Depth(${\delta}_I$) in order to control the power of CP(Cyclic Prefix) area. Two proposed method are evaluated performance with conventional methode, and than the result of simulation show proposed methods is better than conventional methode while it experience into multipath fading channel.

  • Usually, the cyclic shear stress ratio (CSR) for the assessment of liquefaction has been determined by performing ground response analysis or adopting simplified method suggested by Seed & Idriss with some modifications. In order to analyze the applicability of the CSR evaluation methods, the present study performed one-dimensional equivalent linear analysis and evaluated CSR based on design codes from FHWA, JRA, and KDS. The comparison of the CSR obtained from each code showed that the CSR from KDS showed the largest error with the analysis results. The reason is because KDS has an error, which defines the stress reduction coefficient applying the maximum acceleration at each depth, not the maximum cyclic shear stress mobilized in the soil.

  • In general, the deterioration induced by the freezing and thawing cyclic in concrete structures often leads to the reduction in concrete durability by the cracking or surface spalling. If it can prediction of concrete deterioration subjected to cyclic freezing and thawing, we can rationally do the design of mix proportion in view of concrete durability and the maintenance management of concrete structures. Therefore in this study a prediction method of deterioration for concrete structures subjected to the irregular freezing and thawing is proposed from the results of accelerated laboratory freezing and thawing test using the constant temperature condition and the in-situ weathering data. Furthermore, to accurately predict the concrete deterioration, a method of modification for the effect of hydration increasing during rapid freezing and thawing test is investigated.

  • An electrochemical reduction on the 3-phenyl-4-nitrosydnone in acetonitrile solution has been studied by direct current, differential pulse polarography, cyclic voltammetry and controlled potential coulometry. Before the cleavage of phenyl-N single bond a irreversible electron transfer-chemical reaction(EC) mechanism of nitro functional group proceeded to form amino (or-hydroxylamino) group by multielectron transfer which is followed to give phenyl hydrazine by single electron transfer-chemical reaction at the 2nd and 3rd irreversible reduction wave of high negative potential region. The cathodic half-wave potentials shown to be shift negative due to inhibitory effect of cetyl-trimethyl ammonium bromide micelle while reversible anodic peaks on the 2nd and 3rd reduction waves in the presence of NaLS at high negative potential region.

  • In this paper we propose a Pre-rake system applied with a frequency domain equalizer in TDD/CDMA multi-code transmission. The Pre-rake system has been well known technique in TDD/CDMA to make a receiver simple. However, it still has residual losses of path diversity and signal to noise ratio (SNR). However, gathering all the residual paths demands an additional hardware such as a rake combiner at the receiver. For the reason Pre/Post-rake system has already been proposed at up/downlink correlated channel conditionunder the assumption of noisier channel. There is a trade-off between the first purpose of Pre-rake that makes hardware simple at the receiver and the performance improvement. From the point the frequency domain equalizer (FDE) can be considered in Pre/Post-rake to supply the receiver with the flexible equalizing methods with rather reduced complexity compared with time domain rake combiner or equalizers. Pre-rake itself increases the number of multipath, which results from the convolution of Pre-rake filter and wireless channel, and FDE must be well matched to Pre/Post-rake, while it considers the relationship of hardware complexity and the performance. In this paper, the Pre-rake/Post-FDE system is introduced at TDD/CDMA multi-code transmission. In addition, the cyclic prefix reduction method in the proposed system is introduced, and the theoretical analysis to the proposed system is given by assuming Gaussian approximation, and finally the numerical simulation results are provided.

  • The electrochemical reduction of O,O-dimethyl-O-(3-methyl-4-nitrophenyl)-phosphorothioate (Fenitrothion) has been studied in acetonitrile solution containing surfactant micelle by direct current (DC)-differential pulse (DP) polarography, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and controlled potential coulometry (CPC). The partially reversible electron transfer-chemical reaction(EC, EC mechanism) of fenitrothion reduction proceeded by four electron transfer to form O,O-dimethyl-O-(3-methyl-4-hydroxyaminophenyl)-phosphorothioate which undergoes single bond of the phosphorus atom and phenoxy group cleaves to give p-amino-m-cresol and dimethyl thiophosphinic acid as major product by two electron transfer-protonation at higher negative potential. The polarograpic reduction waves shown to suppressed due to inhibitory effect of sodium lauryl sulfate micelle solution and split up on selectivity of anionic micelle effect in two step at the first reduction peak.
